Tay Kshau

Name: Tay Kshau
Gender: Male, bi, aro
Age: young adult at impression
Origin: Kshau Island, Blackstone Weyr
Rank: Rider; Brown Caste?
Family: Mother unknown, father Shard Kshau
Other Relations: any given Kshau; doesn't have a girl or boyfriend but there would be plenty lining up if only he'd realize that's why they come to the shop and watch him work
Height: 6'2" Build: muscular, lean
Hair: pale blue kinked and slightly wavy very thick on the top, and a thick white-silver pony tail in the back, this is natural in both color and texture
Eyes: sky blue, usually behind welding goggles or flight gear, he doesn't need any vision correction
Appearance: pale slightly-dusty blue skin like the Kshaus usually have, he may pass as a 'Brown 16' or so, with those rich dyes on his mostly-brown colored clothes.
Genetic Oddities: Though he is definitely Shard's offspring, he lacks the distinctive dark-blue spines on his arms. They are actually part of his bone structure, however, as his forearms are slightly thicker than normal, that is where they remain fused to his bones. Any offspring he might have may stand the chance of having either spines, or this reinforced forearm style. His fingers have thick, short but very strong nails that are more like claws than nails, and he has 4 fingers and a thumb rather than Shard's 3+. He has a distinct scent of machine oil on him, but that's not just because he works on devices or machinery all day - he produces it, that's his sweat...

Tay knew that he had an unusual heritage. He was blue after all, and the only blue people around were his relatives, the Kshaus. He lacked their arm-spikes, but he had everything else, including the tall stature befitting his father Shard.

Shard was obviously proud of the lad from the start. Smart, nimble, attentive. Tay was accepted eagerly by Shard's wife Rue, though everyone could see that he wasn't of her bloodline. Shard wasn't talking about who his mother was, it would remain a mystery all Tay's days. But it didn't really matter. He knew that if he ever hooked up with another blue person, he'd be the one asking about bloodlines and whatnot. Just in case they happened to be related or something unsavory like that.

Tay's true genius lay in his mind. He could fiddle with objects until he understood them entirely, and then put them back together so they worked even better than before he got to them. Not so good with people, he was a bit too focused on his work to notice body language or sarcasm.

He did notice the dragons though.

If there was one thing his family did right, it was dragons.

Tay aimed to please his family by bonding a proper dragon, but he didn't make it to the sands in time for the first two clutches, and then only heard about another some days after it had hatched.

It didn't daunt him, but it was a bit disappointing. He started widening his searches for good clutches, and because he was who he was, and because the Nexus enjoys that kind of thing, he discovered a certain spot tucked away in the multiverse which was in need of someone to take a dragon off their hands.

Tay would be able to cross boundaries that even his father didn't generally go to, with this dragon.

Though he did tend to ride without a harness like Shard...
