2022: updating the Albion Inferno Weyr to be found in the 'Eldritch Pern' section of the Nexus; little will change for existing riders

***

Welcome to Albion Inferno Weyr records room!

Albion Inferno's motto is "Fly Higher, Flame Longer, Burn Brighter" - in other words, go farther, work harder, do more than anyone else. If a rider meets the criteria to fly here, it's an honor! The insignia of this wing is that of a white flame, as hot as any can get. Wing riders who are Threadscored in battle are allowed to put patches on their formal jackets in addition to their rank knots, to indicate the severity of their wounds. Similarly, dragons who are injured in 'falls are encouraged to show off with pride, their hard-won scars. Those who have not been injured in Threadfall but have seen plenty of action, are able to be tattooed (both rider and dragon) with the white flame design. It's a very rare rider or dragon who sports one of those tattoos.

A-I's wings fluctuate in terms of how many dragon-pairs there are at any given time, due to injury, death or age of the dragons. However, in general there are fighting wings consisting of 1-2 Bronze riding Wing Leaders, 2-5 Bronze or Brown riding Wing Seconds, and sometimes 3 or more Bronze, Brown or Blue riding Wing Thirds, in addition to various numbers of Brown, Blue and Green riding wing-men. Golds are flown only when necessary in battle, and while they're considered part of A-I, they don't always have a specific spot in the wing for fighting. During demonstrations or gather-day flights, any Queen dragons lead the formation and the Bronzes are all considered her Seconds.

Characters here on this site belong to Shard/Zekiran of the Nexus.

Update 9.18.22 - Albion Inferno Weyr has somehow slipped between the cracks, listening to the whispers of the dead. It now appears to be in a strangely familiar location to anyone who has lived near or in the Healing Den. On Pern, where a distantly-remembered location called Buenos Weyr had sat unattended for more than 20 turns, the rekindling of the hearth fires started once more. Baeris herself got the strangest twinge when this occurred, however she's neck-deep in dragons at any time, and just couldn't bring herself to attend to it. Whether her sister knows of this, that's kind of a question...

The whispers from between seemed to call to these riders, and rather than be scattered to the world(s) they stuck together and reforged their Wing, making it into a true Weyr once more. However this came at a strange cost - this Pern was decidedly not 'their' home originally, people stare and gawk at the dragons when they fly, and ... Thread is considerably more dangerous to encounter even though they were battered by the stuff without end back 'home'.

Clutches from this Weyr will include a standard Pernese dragon image, and 'added' information (or art) with 'what it actually appears to be'. Dragons from Albion Inferno come in Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green, with rares including Purple, Red, Black, and White (as there are existing white and purple dragons who arrive from Sedona/Whiterock forming the basis for the Weyr's population as well as marked normals).

Update 2.2.2013 - Albion is its own Weyr, no longer merely a wing, since Whiterock is not really where the dragons are coming from any longer.
