Personality: He acts mean and intimidating, but this is largely an act. He'll take action if necessary, but B'lyle fancies himself a coward and is constantly underestimating himself. He isn't very sociable and has trouble talking to people

History: His father was almost always busy off somewhere in the Hold, talking up his friends or whoring - thinking his wife didn't notice. So the first memories that Bielyle had were of his mother bitterly weeping about his father, to her hand maids. He had three older brothers and a sister both older and younger, but he didn't know quite how many other sisters and brothers he had, after all his father was quite eager to prove himself to any woman that he met.

Bullied by his eldest brother, who was smart enough to run the hold, but lazy enough to force others to do the work, Bielyle understood his place: that was either with his head buried in work, hands busy with tools, or stuffed into a corner with his brother's fist in his gut. To his knowledge all men acted thus.

He really wanted to help his mother and his sisters defend themselves, but in the end, he had to imagine it would go better without him there. He was unable to bring himself to strike his family, even though they often let loose with wild fists. As he was Searched, he knew he had a place in the world that wasn't under the boot-heal of his foul elder brother. Whether or not that included being under a different boot heel, well, that remained to be seen.

Hardeoth seems almost entirely the opposite of his bond, even to the point of chastising the young man for not standing up for himself. But they both relish the skies, and both have learned to direct whatever temper they show into Threadfall where it will do the most good.
