Doll by dolldivine / ammotu

Name: D'ret (formerly Daeret)

Gender: Male, Human

Age: 18

Origin: Seahold

Height: 6'2"

Build: heavily muscled, it's clear D'ret keeps himself in shape

Skin: tanned from lots of time spent outdoors, and tattooes are clearly visible on his arms

Hair: dark brown, straight, but cropped very short

Eyes: lighter brown

Personality: He's definitely not the sort of person you'd like to meet first in a dark alley. At odds with his physical appearance, D'ret is as fierce as a kitten once you get to know him. He's a pacifist and tries to avoid violence whenever possible--part of the reason he's cultivated his dangerous image is so he can intimidate attackers and scare them away before it becomes a brawl. He fawns over Arcieth, eager to make sure the blue has everything he needs, and he loves the idea of having children, whether he settles down with a weyrmate or not.

History: Everyone around him was so tough and difficult, Daeret had to learn to be one with them, if not one of them. Long years of hefting fish baskets and smelly hold cleaning has left him strongly muscled and toned, but don't let that exterior fool you. Each one of his unique tattoos was put there for a reason, be it his first solo navigation, or losing his first love to a tunnel snake. Eventually he guesses he'll be completely covered with ink, but that might be in addition to Threadscore.

Daeret became interested in dragons as most young boys did, but was told that they hardly ever came to his Hold. His grizzled elders claimed 'they didn't like the smell' - he didn't even realize that there was an odd smell to the seahold until much later and he'd had the chance to be away from it for a time. He considered that he himself must have smelled oddly for at least the first few sevendays at Sedona.

He really could hardly believe his eyes as Arcieth came from his shell - barely a different color, spotted with a sand-fine covering of blue spots over the shell-white hide. He was no 'sport' dragon either, he was just as big as any of the others that came from his clutch and that was saying something. D'ret had to be sternly warned, more than once, while the dragon was young, not to over-feed him lest he get too fat to fly! Spoiling the dragon had to come in other forms, then, because if there was one thing that D'ret wanted, it was a happy dragon. Arcieth was hardly ever pleased, though every once in a while the pair would just lounge around their weyr and enjoy the simplest pleasures of a day free from Threadfall.

As Arcieth can easily plead for a night-time duty, D'ret and he have become known as late-night and early-morning types. The cool mornings and long flights that are possible when the sun is only barely cresting over the horizon have allowed them to bond in an enjoyable setting. One thing that D'ret did make certain to confirm - or in this case deny - was that dragons hadn't come often to that seahold because there were few of eligible age to Search, hardly because of the smell! Fish were some of Arcieth's favorite things in the world, and D'ret happily allowed the dragon to gorge himself on their journeys. By the time they got back to Albion, it would all be worked off anyway!

The other aspect of Arcieth's younger life was of tunnel-snake hunter. Adept at slinking through caverns, his keen senses rooted out numerous threats before he grew too big to explore within Albion's systems. Other caverns like them are always his first stop. D'ret had to remind the dragon that tides fill some of the sea-hold's cliffs, and they could only spend a candlemark or two there without danger.

Name: Arcieth
Race: Pernese Dragon
Gender: Male
Color: Blue
Size: 25' long
Parents: Green Koneth x Blue Armuketh
Abilities: Telepathy, Teleportation, Assisted Firebreath
Personality: Arcieth is a rather grumpy blue and is rarely completely satisfied with his surroundings. D'ret's tendency to spoil him probably hasn't helped, either. He dislikes bright light and spends a disproportionate amount of his time within caves--he like spelunking, as long as the cavern is large enough for him to fit inside.
