Doll by Meiker Elequinoa Power Princess |
Name: Senube Gender: female, aromantic, bisexual Age: 19 at impression, currently 22 Origin: Craft-bred, with parents in beastcraft and medicine, so she's been exposed equally to both fields Family: Mother and Father still alive working at the Weyr now, brought there by Senube after Impression, does not have any siblings, her mother was not expected to even have one child, and certainly none after the difficulties she experienced during her pregnancy Height: over 6' tall Build: muscular and strong limbed due to growing up with beastcraft needs Skin: light toned with liberal moles and freckles, a few bite-mark scars here and there from dealing with canines, felines, and the occasional horse Hair: platinum white, almost entirely devoid of color, which her parents thought might change over time. In fact it's because her mother was traumatized and nearly died while moving from crafthall to a weyr, during pregnancy - they've seen this feature in animals too, with the frosty fur typically growing out into a normal coat later, but... Senube's just has not done that and likely will never change; kept short but it has a mind of its own, she does enjoy the looks she gets from having it though! Eyes: blue, smart looking, always seems quite interested and intense Personality: Intense and focused on her own work and attentive to the needs of those around her if she's working in the infirmary or at the beast pens; large and in charge if she knows her business, but does know how to defer to authority when she is not in her own element; defensive and carfeful regarding people she doesn't know, but won't go actually picking a fight unless it presents itself; very big on permission and consent, given that both humans in an infirmary and animals in the field may have a lot to say about their treatment or lack of...; does tend toward a bit 'weird' and 'gross' and is intrigued by the dragons even with their oddities, because well I mean have you looked inside a body?!

History: Senube's parents fought hard for their lives and are superbly happy that their daughter is not only healthy and strong, but strong willed and smart. It cannot be said that she takes after only one or the other, her folks are both intense and intelligent in equal amounts, after all. She learned from a very early age that the world is odd and dangerous, but she has braved those oddities and dangers with style and confidence. Even as a very young child she was brave enough to face down a large tunnel snake, long enough for it to be killed by the large wher - that she also was unafraid of. Not to the point of fearlessness, she recognizes that there will be things she simply can't do or doesn't have the interest in, and knows her limits. While she's not afraid of heights, she doesn't care for large bodies of water, and is suitably impressed by those who brave it to retrieve deep water fish, or even just go out on journeys in boats. To her, the open skies are of far more interest. But also, open books, open surgeries, and open eyes. She loves to learn, and is easily able to adapt new information to her existing skill set. What she's learned about whers and dragons, she originally discovered about flitters and snakes. Her curiosity is not at the cost of invading people's privacy, but she will definitely tilt an ear toward newcomers and make sure that they are as they present themselves before joining in a conversation. Even casually letting a secret out would be a disaster for some, so she respects that boundary unless it intrudes on other people's lives. She is able to understand intent just by the body language of those around her, and that was learned from watching horses and other animals around people. Some people don't see it, but the little things that affect the way a canine responds, or the posture of a horse, those tip her off to any untoward or sneaky people. The animals just know, right? Never shy around the infirmary or in the beast pens, she's willing to roll up her sleeves, put her mucking boots on, and get in there to help where she can. Because she's a large young woman, people tend to think she's either dull witted or some kind of brute, but she loves the looks on their faces when she brings up the latest trend in surgical procedures, or the way a particular beast responds to a specific call or smell. She had been working for both the beastcraft and healer halls, before Search, Senumi's talents intersect and cannot be pried apart, even by Masters of either craft. Special accommodations were made for her to become a Journeyman at both, with a caveat that people know it's both, and not focused on humans or animals. Turns out, she'll be Albion's main healer, for beasts, humans, and dragons! Her exposure to the dragons of this ... odder world, was quite limited for a long while. But though a large number of her peers were put off and even superstitious about their presence or appearance, the strange other-worldly aura of any given dragon, and particularly the one that Searched her, made her much more curious rather than afraid. Yes, yes, they might have... well, squirmy parts. Fiercely burning eyes, dripping maws, echoing mind-voices that bring other people to a quivering fearful posture. But to her, those things make them what they are: defenders of a world, protectors, with their own mind and their own agenda. So when one chose her, she made the decision to allow the appearance to flood over her: whether her dragon appears as she sees it with her eyes, the sleek and glittering obsidian gold queen, or as others might interpret the ghostly tendrils or seeking 'fingers' of her telekinetic power... She loves Loxfryth with all her heart, and makes sure that her needs are always attended to. That said, Loxfryth does take advantage of this trust and love a little much. Where Lox wants to go, she goes. Sometimes while Senube is complaining that they needed to be heading the other way, or that there was a meeting they needed to attend. While for the most part the dragoness is sensible and will do those mundane things, if something sparks her interest, it's all Senube can do to keep her from uprooting a house to see a newly installed wine cellar (she loves the smell of those oak casks, oh yes) or speeding up into the clouds to check and make sure that no Thread is falling today (Lox... Lox I'm losing consciousness please go back where I can breathe...). |
