Sedona Weyr

Because she'd grown up in a Weyr, she knew all the routines. She knew more about the dragons than most candidates, but she wasn't excused from the lessons when she'd officially been Searched. Her mother, the green-riding Eyece, didn't have much time to pay attention to her, nor was she really fostered out... This led to a bit of stubborn behavior from the girl, who knew better than to demand more from her already busy mother, and knew her father only from his occasional visits and letters delivering birthday gifts now and then.

Aity threw herself into learning more and more about the dragons. Their history, their anatomy, which Weyrs bred what features... How to decide on tactics for Threadfall fighting, reading charts, all those things came reasonably easy for the girl. But her instructors were a bit put off by her nature. She wasn't friendly, though she wasn't demanding either. She was not a loner, by any means, she enjoyed being around people. Probably because that was her only chance to have 'family'.

When she was finally on Sedona's sands, at long last, her dreams were made real by the medium-colored, medium-sized green who called herself Tasilth. She would never again feel alone, never feel left out, always have someone to talk to who loved her unconditionally.

Though.... Tasilth wasn't all that unconditional. She was demanding of her rider. Which was fine with Aity, in the long run. When they were older and decided to transfer to Dragonhope for some time with her father as well as the change in weather, Aity had to admit that her dragon's strong head probably made her a better person for it.

Mostly, her insistence upon becoming a search dragon - and therefore Tasilth's insistence that Aity interact with people more kindly. Tasilth searched for candidates with the same fervor she exercised when they found Thread nearing the ground. Leaving no place unturned, heading it off... And talking the whole time. Tasilth boldly announced their presence with both a trumpet and a broad mental greeting. Of the pair, it was sometimes said (mostly behind their back) that Tasilth was the more intelligent of them. That wouldn't be true, really, though Tasilth definitely knew her stuff; Aity knew her own.

They would not be sent out to search in conditions where it was likely there would be a disagreement. Aity didn't take well to being told what to do by a Holder, and Tasilth certainly never could understand what the fuss was about when they did encounter such a thing. The dragons need riders, there is a rider in potential... hand them over. Certainly could be done more carefully, but for the most part, Tasilth and Aity made a great pair visiting farmsteads, small Cotholds, crafthalls and the like, doing regular Search work for Dragonhope as well as Sedona on occasion.
