Sedona Weyr |
Coselle was born and raised in Sedona, though it hadn't been called that when she was born. In fact, it hadn't really been a weyr when she was born. Her parents were both on hand for its creation, and were still there for repairs and cooking. Coselle's demeanor hardly displayed much similarity with either of her outgoing parents. She was shy, overly sensitive about her looks (which were pretty, but not to hear her say it), and extremely punctual. Whether she was always on time because she dreaded being punished for being late, or because she was just incredibly timely, no one could say. Coselle's Search was a surprise more to the girl herself, than anyone around her. When she stood on Sedona's sands twice before, she failed to Impress any of the dragonets, but once more she was shunted to the hot sands - and... This time, she did Impress! Of course, she was a bit confused - the mother of this clutch was a blue, and the sire a green? Well, whatever the colors there were eggs on the sands, and many had already hatched. A dainty green had hatched, unnoticed by most, but she quickly found Coselle, nonetheless. "Naleth, let's get you something to eat," the girl said after hugging the dragon happily. They practiced, they grew, and matured. Coselle never grew much more confident about her own abilities, but Naleth was certain she still loved every minute of her life with the girl. Naleth was on the smaller end of the greens, and among the least impressive of the class. As weyrlings, they were able to fly strongly, but only after Coselle was convinced by the others that she could do it - therefore her dragon could do it. And, only Coselle could coerse Naleth into the air. Only Coselle could convince the dragon of anything actually, including heading between. By way of practice, Coselle asked the other green rider - Cendrine - if she could tag along. Cendrine wasn't sure how she'd found out that she was on her way to the northern continent, to visit her family, but she knew that Coselle and Naleth needed the practice. So Cendrine agreed, Coselle urged Naleth to listen to the girl's incredibly strong mental voice for where to go. So it was that they got into trouble about that, but at least mucking more weyrs and scrubbing tables for a week was far better than having to fly Thread without knowing how to escape. Naleth never got used to the idea of Thread, so when they were ready to be assigned to a wing, Coselle once more followed the far more brave Cendrine to Dragonhope Weyr. There, because of the unique hesitance that they found in the little green, the wing they were chosen for and the duties suited them nicely. Deliveries - of packages, of people, of letters - were done quickly and politely by this pair. They would not have to face a full Threadfall, though if things got bad they would always be there in an emergency. |
