Sedona Weyr

Lavrenc was the eldest of the group, and often they looked to him... But more they looked to him because he was adorable. He always had some kind of herb, root, flower or plant on his person. If not in his hands, then collected in the nooks of his pockets or in a satchel. He'd taken cuttings and grown them into full trees, he was quite proud of his green thumb.

He was also quite proud of all his friends. Zala was happy when he abruptly proposed, though they'd discussed it later on. Maybe they would marry, some day. Maybe the dragon rider who tried to all but abduct Zala would think twice before doing so again.

The redhead looked on proudly as the group split up and were sent to their dragonry destinations. He and Zala could have some alone time at Sedona, and that was nice. It was actually kind of weird, because for the first time since they'd been children, they were alone together.

Of course, when things might have gotten a little fluttery and steamy, the hatching was called! Zala arrived before Lavrenc, and neither of them had to wait very long for the eggs to begin hatching.

With excitement, a bronze hatched first and everyone cheered as he bonded. Lavrenc's dark eyes were almost disapointed, because he thought he'd heard a voice in his mind. A dragon voice. Well, the voice continued, so it wasn't that dragon at all! Two blues hatched out, one finding his rider immediately, and the other...

Only then did the other blue move toward the candidates.

The mind voice said quietly, hungry, where is my one... where... hungry! ow, hotfeet, hellooooo hungry!

He wandered aimlessly, seemingly unable to decide, but Lavrenc stepped forward with a shout. "I'm here, Throedelith !' He looked as surprised as the dragonet when he realized what he'd said, but the blue crooned and pushed his head against his rider impatiently, and L'enc grinned.

The hatching wasn't over by a long shot, but L'enc had to get some food into his insistant dragon's belly.

"If that dragon wanders any farther out of formation, you'll have to make your own wing," called out the Weyrlingmaster, angrily. "Get him back in line, now."

The flights were short, but intense. The training was hard, and rewarding. But... Oh how L'enc wished that his blue could have even the slightest inclination to follow orders!

"I keep telling him, sir, but he just... Won't!" L'enc shouted back, scowling and mentally urging Throedelith back to where they belonged. It would be tough to imagine this dragon doing anything other than getting into trouble. He didn't mean to, but Throe was just... such a dimglow. Even Zala's green was quite bright compared to him.

Eventually when Dragonhope's wing riders came to collect their new members, Sedona's weyrling master breathed a sigh of relief. Throedelith would be trouble for someone else, at least not there.

Trouble he might have been, too, if he had been in a Thread-fighting wing. He did chew his share and blast flames at the silver stuff when things were stretched thin across Dragonhope's protected zone. But in general, his spot in Benteng Udara, the construction wing, meant that he would more be flying around with L'enc looking for trees, helping construct homes, and the like. It was something they were both far more comfortable with.
