Riders of Dragonhope Weyr Weyrleader S'xon |
Bronze Bhavyatath, Ridden by Weyrleader S'xon
S'xon leads you into his huge weyr. Beyond the fact that there are more stone furnishings around than you'd think would come in a weyr (there are several ornately carved couches with woven pillows decorating them, several smaller chairs, and even a tall stone clothing press with wooden doors) there are tapestries and colorful rugs scattered about. It doesn't look like a weyrleader's weyr, in other words. It looks to you like 'someone' allowed his weyrwoman decorate. Just one look tells you that it is true. However, one of the tapestries depicts four beautiful young women and one young man. The tapestry is very realistic, and you aren't sure how this could be. Touching it, S'xon turns to you and narrows his greeny-yellow eyes. "Please do not touch that," he says. "That, since you were about to ask, was made by my daughter Alila, she is the blond-haired one." "The others are your other children, then?" You ask, and he nods. "Opal, Alila, Virin, Coril, and Ebon." He lists off, and smiles. "All of them are Kira's. We have had a very successful life here at Dragon Hope." It seems like he wants to say more but does not. You neglect me, my rider, the huge bronze out in the airy weyr beyond the curtains of S'xon's living space. You hear a shift of weight, motion in the weyr. S'xon indicates the weyr, and you slide through the curtains. On the other side is the biggest bronze you think you have ever seen! He likes me, I wonder if I could impress him? The dragon speaks into your mind, but obviously he is joking. S'xon laughs and pats the great dragon's eyeridge. "Here, he would love to have you scratch his nose." I do love that, the dragon tells you. Do it more, and I will follow you home! "Get up, you lazy bronze! Show him what you're made of! Your children fly out of our weyr, I'd imagine our visitor would like to see what they may be impressing some day!" S'xon pats the dragon. "How do you pronounce his name again?" You ask, as the bronze rises from the stone floor. He is.... HUGE! "Bha-vya-tath," S'xon says, "it's from an ancient language called Hindi, and it means Magnificent." I think it is a perfect name for me, do you think so? All you can do is nod. Of couse he's magnificent! He flew Nozomith! What other dragon could ever have done that? You thank S'xon for the tour and return to the Weyrbowl.
