**

Scotia and Elmon had made quite the pair for a long while, once the girl's Drak decided to start looking for a partner herself... The medic and the scout, both Ninjas in their own right, serving disparate needs in their community, but joined in duties with their Draks! Scotia would sometimes deliver a 'patient' to the infirmary, that is to say, she'd captured some wandering invader or thief and once they'd been subdued it often meant they needed a touch of patching up. Elmon and she married after a number of years of shy flirting and on-and-off romance.

Moss is the eldest of three children, their parents now in their late 30s and 'done' with raising kids for the time being. Moss spent equal amounts of time in the infirmary as outside, learning how to track and hunt as well as bind injuries or spot diseases. She'd managed to combine these skills into an outdoorsy 'field medic' practice, and even that strange tall rider Istvan was impressed with it.

And it was that same man, who had Judged her parents in their own times, that sought Moss out - along with the other two in her family, but mostly her since she was old enough to become an Aspirant - and Judged her too.

Moss was a quiet girl but with a streak of independence to her that spoke volumes at least to Istvan. She knew how to start her own projects, but also responded well to requests or instruction, though woe to anyone that got in her way once she started something on her own! If she had a question about something - anything - she'd ask it, and didn't much care for answers that didn't get to their point quickly enough.

"I have not heard of this place," Moss said, as she packed up her gear - mostly personal belongings like clothing, but also some amount of her particular medical collection. "And why is it not to the Castle that we fly?"

"It's... apparently still under someone else's control," Istvan decided to say, "I don't know the full story, and I'm not going to be the one to march up to their Castle and find out."

Moss nodded, and cinched down the pack. While Istvan would be riding his lovely Cephari, there were other Draks that carried Aspirants so that the little Rain didn't have to do all the work. The Drak...? That came out to help was a massive, furry, 'fire' - completely different from any Drak that Moss had heard of!

But there was more to worry about than where such a Drak had hatched or what features it varied, there was room enough on her back for Moss, her goods and gear, and Istvan, and Cephari...

They flew into the skies, again completely different gaits between the pair of Draks that Moss made note of, and portaled over an area that was very different indeed from their scrub and rolling grassland! It was cold, blustery, mountainous, and with deep forests as far as the eye could see, which was certainly the scariest part to Moss. She was used to the open landscape, and light forest. There were definitely trees and woodlands around Dun Keiba of course, but this was something else. She wondered if her mother's Drak could possibly navigate through those woods, adept as she was with winding through the lighter taller trees of their home.

But perhaps... Maybe Moss would learn how to do it here. Not that she would be remaining longer than to pair and care for a young Drak - she would be returning home sooner than typical, largely due to the political climate and not the rugged terrain at the Baskar area.

Things were certainly different here, too... She kept silent mostly, but put effort into asking where the infirmary was, and whether they needed any assistance. And to her credit, she knew tricks that helped out when a local child speared themselves with a broken stick playing Knights and Mobs!

Now, they waited for this Feast, or ... Festival or something - Moss wasn't clear on the terminology nor the practice, but if it was something fun perhaps they'd be bringing more than just Draks back to Dun Keiba!

It was a bit odd, because wasn't the mother of the draklings supposed to introduce them? She knew that much: something was off with that drak, but no one was willing to talk about it. The big feast however was definitely going to be talked about for a while! She'd hardly seen such energy! But at some point in the evening, the draks were instructed to mingle with the humans, and that made for some interesting conversations too. And at the end of another few hours - exhausting with dancing and mingling and more food and drink - the draks were told to choose. Fairly, this seemed like a pretty good method rather than the haphazard ways she'd heard of in other locations. At least the little draks were up and about, perceptive.

It seemed interesting to her too that almost everyone was surprised at their bonding. Including herself! There was a lovely forest female that had come around her numerous times. She'd also sat near a few others, but it was obvious that Moss was her intended. A couple of other draklings weren't willing to even bother with the humans around right now, but this forest... Sat right in front of Moss and patiently waited to be more formally introduced.

"I didn't think you would..." Moss started to say, unsure. There were others here that might benefit...

"Why would I not?" She tilted her head, and Moss realized that the whole time the drak had been sitting around others, she'd been peering over their shoulder or around their hip, looking for her instead. Moss and the others obviously felt more energized than ever, excited and euphoric - the mind bond of a drak wasn't tremendously strong, but it was there, and Moss knew that over time and practice she and her new Coisksa (she had to roll that word around in her mouth a number of times before getting it truly right) would never be parted.
