Personality: He is bad-tempered, naive, and obediant. He is very well-trained himself, and dedicated to one thing: teaching swordfighting. Anything else he considers somewhat less worthy of his time and effort. Interrupting him - especially while teaching - will earn almost anyone his ire. He is respectful of the Head Knights and the Prince and Princess, but aside from them (and the cook, Malpin, who often comes to feed him new dishes which he really likes!) few people have ever earned a smile from him.

This goes double for that upstart girl, Epelia. However, once he saw how talented she really is, he gained respect for her and her ways. That's not saying he's in any way kinder or gentler toward her, no - they spar and fight with equal fever...
