Bond: Chansua and Chuah'Kyil, Sponsorship
Meeting Notes: (see also Keneo below, which occurs slightly before)

Chuah'Kyil lounged after their enjoyable meal. The meat they served here, oh it was lovely. And there were dishes that dragons, even meat eaters, would enjoy. The 'flaming ice' was especially tasty! (And spicy, to a dragon's tongue at that!)

This whole dragon-sided event was well beyond what they could have expected or even anticipated. Magic demonstrations, contests of strength and skill, all without a two-legged bond anywhere. The blue dragon was still somewhat uncomfortable among 'social' dragons... like all the ones here. So he clung to the silver Keneo a bit, and intently listened in on his bond and her little adventures. Keneo tried nudging him into one of the contests, but he declined... Was he afraid of all the attention? or losing? Well, they'd never know - because thankfully, a good number of interruptions kept breaking it up.

That interruption was invariably 'the baby dragons' coming out from their individual nesting nooks. It was obvious that some of these dragonets were older than others, and very clear that a lot of them were man-made. Well, 'intervened' perhaps... They looked like their bigger counterparts, but they all had those dazzling checkerboard patterns. It was interesting when they walked around looking for 'their' one, among the dragons. Most would move toward the bipedal section and wander through the big archway, hardly to be seen again. But some would remain.

Right now, about three hours into the evening, one of them was remaining. Keneo had wandered away in search of ... something, and perhaps that something was (ooooh yes it was!) looking back at her just like the big green eyes of this newly hatched dragonet was in front of Chuah.

Hi, the white and checkered dragonet said, simply. I'm Aenamsh. You looked lonely, I figured I'd keep you company.

Chuah took a deep breath, and there was that strange little tingle, the same as he'd have when he was spotting a potential Novo. It came from this dragon, surely.

"Are you hungry?" Chuah asked, and the dragon perked right back up.

I am! And I want to see what those dragons are doing over there.

That black-tipped white nose pointed over to a large group of dragons, who were lined up in rows... And Chuah noticed perfectly well that those lines were 'male and female'. Oh. It was the speed dating event...

"Maybe we'll show you something else, once you're fed. I'm sure there are other fun activities a hatchling might enjoy." (The sweat drop was not obvious to the little dragonet.)

Physical Features: Pernese-Alskyran/Danachian/Eienic Mutt, four legs and two wings, feet have apparently retractable claws, wings have large wrist thumbs with thick claws; angular head with knobs having very long and sharp horns, faceted eyes, and a jagged tall crest, echoed on the spade of very long slender tail

Parents: Calietosth and Dairruinth
Bond: Kessa and Keneo'Mybl, Sponsorship
Meeting Notes: Where are they? Keneo asked, knowing full well where her bond was, but the other dragon shrugged.

"Not there, where they should be," Chuah replied, "They're missing out."

Indeed, that was true - because not only had their bonds been missing during one of the big stage productions involving magic and alchemy, they weren't on hand to see the first seven groups of hatchlings! It was also true that the dragons had their own bunch of distractions, not just watching the delightful parade of little ones nosing around the area. They were able to 'tune in' to their bonds, who were frankly being quite a bit more pest-like and sneaky than the dragons would have been able to keep up with anyway.

The pair of Geperna had remained with their bonds only long enough to move over to the draconic portion of the venue, but they, like many others bonded to humanoids at the event, also would poke their noses into the biped side, or even just lounge and watch the big-screen tvs found in the comfortable balcony nooks of what was going on. Each half of the venue was so busy! But they could hardly imagine what it would have been like if all the dragons and all the humanoids were in the same space... trying to ballroom dance? With a bunch of 3-meter-tall dragons in the way? (And some much bigger?)

And 'a bunch' wasn't even covering it... there were so many. People, dragons, dragon people. There were a good number of Geperna, though there were also... some Death Court and very strange dragon...ish ... creatures here tonight. And wisely, this pair chose to keep out of their way.

Do you hear that? Keneo said, glancing around. I ... could swear I heard something calling me.

"No?" Chuah shrugged again, and adjusted his big cloth bow tie with a claw.

Keneo made a concerted effort to locate the source of this sound, and when she did find it... It would be another hour and a half before her bond would see. There was something so completely heartwarming about this young dragon - but Keneo'Mybl was no fool. Her bond needed the night, needed the time scooting around with her humanoid companions. And this would be a perfect cap on the evening.

**

There were actually quite a few more bonded dragons in the biped-side dome than before, not merely the newly impressed or arrived hatchlings - but full sized dragons, some of them just wanted to be near their partners in this moment when the Midnight bell was about to ring. Chansua and Kessa and the others had had their little... adventure, and were now alternating between sheepish guilt and wholehearted laughter at it all.

When Kessa saw her lovely silver dragoness she was about to launch into a tale of that adventure, but stopped short. There was more than just her shimmery hide here - there was a much whiter one, a small but long dragonet? Nestled up beside her? A tentative mind reached out, it wasn't to try and bond or intrude, it was a gentle and happy ping.

"Well who's this?" Kessa asked, mostly to her dragon.

This is Qibbanith, she nuzzled the young dragon, go ahead little one, introduce yourself, she urged.

We have been talking, I'd like to come with you both, we can learn magic again together! His whirling eyes sparkled, but Kessa was having a hard time seeing them, through her tears. Oh no no - I didn't mean to -

"It's all right, I... I'm not sad, we'll teach you, and I... will learn again too."

Parents: Dantinath and Dymati
Bond: Zhaurian Toerii'Eyele, Voluntary Bond
Meeting Notes: He didn't wait around with the others in his nest, but he did have to do some investigation before figuring out where to go. Because Gül needed to find his one, a particular person... a dragon, really. But that dragon wasn't here in the proper side for such folk. And Gül had nosed around the entire dome several times trying to find him. Nothing. Not even a whiff.

Hmph.

The dragon's mother nudged him gently, when he returned again to their hatching nook. I don't understand, why is he not here?

He is, but I think he's ... having some issues with authority, right now... Dantinath got a little chuckle out of it: her life spent Outside with Misota had lent her quite a bit of unusual experience, and power that wasn't common among Pernese dragons like her parentage. You could go look for him on the other side of the venue, you might even be able to help him...

That was all Gül needed, and he scampered as well as a newly-hatched dragonet with improbably large smoke wings and a billowing vapor tail might do. Dantinath watched her young child and was joined momentarily by Dymati, who looked rather too pleased with himself about all that...

**

"So you were actually there too, all along?" Zhaurian laughed, "I can't even believe... wait, wait," he eyeballed the dragonet's shadowy shape blurring around the edges. "I can believe it. You were up by the doorframe, and in that one nook," the dragon-shaped-dragon laughed about it now, but it was certainly all kinds of heart-pounding while they were racing through the halls trying to avoid detection (failing) and figure out what was going on (sort of succeeding)...

I was there, yesssss, Gül rolled his head around and his big wings flickered with solidity or wafted as a cloud. They were almost 2-dimensional, like smoke trapped between two panes of glass, their edges always moving. I'm not strong enough yet to do much more than hide behind shadows but... I'll learn and we'll find ways to sneak around, you bet. If you'd been around when we came out you wouldn't have had such a fun story to tell, either.

Zhaur glanced over his shoulder, and spotted that slab of meat Wilson, still watching them. He didn't see Wilson's smirk.

"It'll be a long time before any of us have a better story," Zhaurian chuckled.

Intagith

Parents: Thaljath and Olelikoth
Bond: Oelolo Promontores; Impression
Meeting Notes: "Olé."

"Oelolo."

"Oh-LEH."

"Oh. Ee. LOH. loh."

Olelikoth sat back there behind the barrier between the dragon side and bipedal side and Oelolo knew that spike bearing dragon had a stupid dad grin on his muzzle.

No one could tell what expression the human-formed Oelolo wore, because there was a flit covering it. He had to continually struggle to keep the little thing from... well, trying to crawl into his mouth? Ew? The dragon in front of him however somehow managed to maintain both her dignity and be persistently annoying in brutalizing his name.

"I thought --mmpf," Oelolo paused while removing the flit once more and distracting it with a piece of meat. "I thought that Pernese dragons knew our names."

The look that she gave him... Black horn buds barely sticking out from those large sized knobs on her head, and the obvious points along her neck that would become large and impressive spines, made her expression more... expressive.

"I do know your name. And we're also known for shortening them."

He was about to protest, and at least this time the flitter was now wrapped around one arm and apparently sleepy, when he realized she meant ... "Oh no, no no no, you're not shortening my name to that." He shook his head and was about to protest, and then realized, "and they don't normally talk like that either! What's up with you."

"I am a queen, queens are built different." She explained. Still sitting with her long, fan-tipped tail wrapped around her paws, shiny grey wings looking like a metallic beetle's shell. Well she certainly acted like a queen. She was certainly a good chunk larger than the others from her clutch that he'd glimpsed since she showed up. "You could get me something nice to eat," Intagith added.

"I could, you got legs," Oelolo muttered. But he still did - he put his now-slumbering flitter into the gift bag at their table, it would just have to munch on the last of its 'meat shell' if it got hungry again. His champagne glass: forgotten once the clutch of impressively built and potentially-sharp dragonets were paraded around. Something had called him to watch as they came through the venue.

The first thing she'd announced, upon finding him, was that he was meant to be on the other side and she'd been waiting. But he had been over here with the two-leggers. Some day perhaps they would fly in the sky together, she insisted that he teach her good tricks when it was time. So now, now she wanted that meat from the corner - she had eaten earlier already, he knew this. Their connection was deep, resounding.

Wait, he paused in mid-step heading toward that selection of fresh hatchling-ready meat. "Weren't Pernese queens supposed to go to the girls?"

And she had the same gloating look that her sire had, when he looked back.

Meeting Notes: (see also below)

The whole place was deeply under the sea, was it? And with locally-residing dragons already having their own dome to 'fly' around in? Delightful! Niteres gave her rider a running commentary on events as they played out - there were handsome dragons doing sharpshooting with their breath weapons, and a 'dating game' which, while she was tempted, Niteres didn't really feel like putting herself out there to some random group of gents. But when there was an exterior hunt organized? With magic that allowed her to breathe while under all that ocean? Niteres took that up just to prove that she was right all along: her arm-wings, though still useful in the air, were of the best configuration below the surface of water! She didn't really 'hunt' so much as 'enjoy the feeling' of rushing around under the crushing sea without being crushed, breathing from a magically induced bubble that kept up around her head even when she was at full torpedo-speed.

She and the other dragons participating were given strict instructions to avoid crashing into things near the Domes and the city of Rapture itself. The place might look fanciful and functional but it was fragile at best, half of it still under renovation. A few local dragons, Seawings, had sonic attacks that they used to stun prey, and they were the ones who informed others - stay clear of any of those walls, domes, and walkways. Obviously they had to mind which direction they shot their powerful stunning bursts: if they could knock out a giant fish or a school of them with that blast, imagine what damage it would do to the scenery?

But there were still plenty of places that she could 'fly', around rock arches and through weird worm-tube vents spewing warmth out through the chill water. The Hathian mutt did wear out after a short time, because obviously she wasn't used to going full speed through the deepest sea. So eventually she did pick a few medium sized fish off, consuming them while still under the water, and then resurfaced in the air lock. Dripping wet, Niteres was about to shake off, when she noticed one of those little helper dragons zipping around.

That dragon had arm wings, just like her. And they were so small! Quick on their feet, almost too quick to--

Hey! What? Niteres could hardly move, when the dragonet scampered up her leg, chittering madly to itself, and selected a portion of her shoulder armor to smack. It didn't hurt, obviously, because it was armor. But - then the dragon slung a small packet with a handle over her eye-horn, giggling with a strange sonic power, and bolted off. After a minute or two of looking at the thing that it had plastered to her still-wet armor, a little piece of paper fluttered to the floor, blank. But where it had been, there was a dark marking?

Though she had to twist her head around a bit to see it right-side-up, Niteres realized that the image on her shoulder was of a black 'chess pawn'. Thematic, obviously, to the party! Well, that was... festive? She'd dried off enough otherwise to re-enter the party cavern proper, so she did.

Jesastash

Name: Jesastash (JESS uh stash; though their full Piece siblings inherit the Turun name, the knockoffs use -STASH and in some cases are ultra happy with this fact)

Parents: Donor Clutch Sta Turun and Shiyo
Bond: Lehsoa, Voluntary Tattoo Bond (temporary may be improved with a magically imbued perma of it)
Meeting Notes: (see also above)

The night couldn't have been better, could it? (Well there was that nagging sensation thanks to Niteres who wandered the other side of the venue, that occasionally things were afoot). She had made her way to the casino area and the small stage there, because advertisements on the walls nearby told of singing and 'karaoke' whatever that was, and oh boy was she up for that! Any hint of discomfort about the clothing she wore that matched others among the riders was long gone - she'd had a couple drinks, waited her turn for the stage, and decided to just go for it.

While other performers had a variety of instruments, from a harmonica to what looked like an electric piano grafted to a bass viol, Lehsoa's lute was still able to help her look like the consummate professional she was. She knew plenty of songs, but only had time for a few, and it was to a rousing applause that she finally left the stage. Invigorated, what a rush it always was, she had almost forgotten that at one time she was first in her Harper class...

There was one gentleman more enthusiastic than most, seated at a nearby table, who caught her eye as she was coming off the stage. Something about him just screamed 'fun', even though he was hardly young - she noticed tattoos on his neck, even on his hands, under his very fine looking tailored outfit.

It was about half a minute of introductions and chit-chat before Lehsoa and this stranger (who she did eventually learn his name was Mortimer) were sucking face in the darker corners of the room. It was only when one of the energetic little half-Hathian dragonets with checkerboarded wings came zipping around that they paused. Mostly, because it spilled a whole jug of icewater on them! Rude?!

Oops! The dragon announced to them, but there was something weird about how it then manhandled their outfits (not that... um, not that those outfits weren't actually half-off already?) (they were near the pole-dancing stage with lots of curtains, speaking of how did this dragon even manage to get through to their booth, it was laced shut!?) and equally weird when one after another it abruptly smacked their shoulders (how it found a bare spot on Mortimer's arm who even knew, he was a tattoo artist himself and had extensive inks!) with a small rectangle of paper.

"What in the world?" Lehsoa muttered, because the dragon then bowed deeply, tittering with its strange chiming voice, and sped back out... The jug of water remained on their table, and had refilled itself magically. They were careful not to tip it again. A short time later, while a lovely canine woman was doing a saber dance on the stage, they each noticed that the paper stuck to their wet arm had fallen off, and an image had remained.

On Mort's it was a faintly different shade, but on Lehsoa's it was shiny light grey in tone. A chess pawn? With a dot above it having a checkerboard pattern. Tiny, how had the detail managed to get in there? It wasn't much bigger than the length of her little finger.

Oh well, they got back to it. ... Until a bit later when Thehy could be heard around the dice tables, and Lehsoa wanted to get in on that action.

**

It was close to midnight, the gang had all been gathered up (with... some incidents reported, including one that Lehsoa missed just as Thehy was leaving the stage herself), for the big chiming of the silver and black clock. The Stage was still filled with that amazing drag show, the ballroom itself was much more packed than it had been even a few hours before.

A good number of full sized dragons had rejoined their partners, for this Midnight celebration, and had been joined by a ridiculous number of new ones, all paired up with their new friends! How wonderful it all was.

Lehsoa felt the warm nudge of her own dragon's mind, and before either of them realized it as they spotted one another near the dance floor, both started to speak mentally.

The weirdest thing happened! It was both of them, and subsequently both gave mental laughs. The dragoness gently giggled, approaching with her head high in order to avoid bumping into too many of the humanoids. There was something dangling from her horn. You go first.

"I met this guy," Lehsoa started to say, and felt that background mental chuckle and a subtle hint of 'I know', "no no- it's not about him, we both got interrupted by this little dragon, like that one there!" She saw another of the small checkerboard attendants, and felt the strangest thing from her dragon.

I did too! Though I don't know if it was that one in particular? They're so hard to tell apart...

"Wait, you met one too?" Lehsoa was now curious. And then she spotted that marking on her dragon's golden shoulder. "Hey... hey, what?"

Before the Midnight bell actually began to ring, both dragon and human felt a strange tingling. Magic? Well, sure, why not? Maybe it was part of the whole show.

It was not part of the whole show, but it wasn't unique here tonight! Because when their respective shoulders started to itch and almost wriggle with magical energy, two small and very pretty dragons simply popped into view. One stood perched on Niteres's shoulder, the other had wrapped itself snugly around Lehsoa's hip and body, clinging like a child might.

But it was no human child, no, it was a dragon with an adorable snoot, and the most incredible grey-scale color scheme! The human looked up at the dragon's new 'friend', and they looked almost entirely opposite in shade, while still being effectively the same build and breed. (Had they looked around, there would be similar ones dotting the area!)

Together the pair of pale grey and very black, and obvious-checkerboarded dragons settled to the ground between the existing pair. The black one, who had been on the dragon's shoulder, spoke, "We are here now! I am Idunstash!"

"I am Jesastash!" The other, grey one, announced. "If you take us with you we can see all the sights and do all the things!"

"All the things?" Lehsoa queried, "are you sure? That's a lot for little dragons..."

"We won't be so little we can't do things," Idunstash stuck its tongue out.

So now the pair were ... a foursome? Somehow? She'd have to read up on their breed, something something tattoo magic, "paradise?" She muttered, while reading the pamphlet later. "I guess we will have to see about getting more--"

You have more, so do I! Niteres faintly waved her head, and that little baggie dangled, reminding Lehsoa to look at her lute: where there was a similar baggie of that same little 'temporary tattoo' design and instructions on how to apply them. As well as instructions to create a more permanent arrangement should they desire it.

"I suppose we'll have to explain you to someone who has more magic than either of us," Lehsoa said to her little greyscale dragonet. "I wonder how they'll deal with your armor..." Her bigger bond shrugged, they'd work it out, for sure.

Gender: (choose+preference as desired)

Build: slender, strong
Physical Features: Pernese, four legs and two wings all with short claws, long neck with boxy head, prominent fangs, high crest, faceted eyes; slender tail with spade tip

Parents: Donor Clutch Ancheoth and Tehndarinth
Bond: Thehy and Urrodoth, Voluntary Multibond
Meeting Notes:

"We didn't know she was a dragon!" "That was sneaky, how were we supposed to know she was part of the casino staff?" Unitsila Kiona had been among those visitors watching but rarely participating in the card games, and when she caught the two young shifter dragon-people... well, sparks might fly eventually, but maybe not tonight. Thehy distracted the security people (how did a guy that size get stuffed into a brilliant white suit like that? Excellent tailoring, that's how...) and while the pair of shapeshifted dragon-kids were slinking away to do who-knew-what, Thehy went back to the gambling.

Little did the 'boys' know, but she used the winnings from her first few throws of the dice, to cover their ilicit 'wins'. Maybe she'd take it out of their pay at some point, did dragons get pay? She'd have to find out. All of those thoughts rumbled around in her mind as she tossed dice and made a tidy pile of chips for herself.

While she was distracted by her compatriot's amazing lute-playing session, Thehy started to feel something a little weird. It was coming from her dragon, who had already been over on the four-footer side of the venue, enjoying her time watching dragons do their feats of flaming or whatnot.

The thing was, Thehy got a very distinct feeling that there was more to it than just a few flames and maybe a game of hide and seek?

**

You found me! The dragonet was delighted. And the adult dragoness was too, since she hadn't gotten too lost in the shuffle and did remember she was playing hide and seek. Of course, she was meant to be seeking for the other adult dragons that were participating in this 'stealth-event', but instead found a little tiny dark grey dragonet with especially entertaining wingsails.

I did! If you want to play some more, we can do that, Urrodoth bespoke, feeling the wave of exhaustion from her little sort-of-half-sibling. It was entirely possible that they would be almost the same size. The others in the clutch, the ones without the bold checkerboard patterns, were barely bigger; her sire Tehndarinth wasn't big at all. The cream-and-silver white dragoness Urrodoth brought her focus back to the little one, when it creeled with a big yawn and a rumbling tummy.

We can find the food, the adult sugggested. She just followed her nose, the smell of fresh meat mingled with fish and the sea, oh right they were under the water.

Eventually, as the night wore on, Urrodoth realized that her rider was wondering where she'd gone to. Many of the small sized dragons - like herself - had remained with their riders in the main biped venue. But Urrodoth absolutely wanted to check out all the fun and games beyond the humans' area. Thehy apparently got lucky with the dice, good for her. There were dice games over on the dragon area too but the rules got too boring to listen to. Particularly with a little dragonet to help!

She wasn't a mother, she was now its friend, its bond, and could feel that bond warmly seeking out her human partner too. By the time they met back up it was nearing midnight, and Thehy was rather surprised.

"So that was it," she whispered, bending down to pick up the bitty grey dragonet. "You should rest, it's been a long night for you, hasn't it?"

It has - they came out early, we had a lot of fun though! Urrodoth bespoke, and her mind was rich with memories that would become fleeting and vanish within a day or so. It did seem though, that the new dragon, Vakante by name, was both a relative of hers, and ... well, considerably smarter? It seemed to understand that they weren't 'where they were supposed to be', in time and space. But tired, full of fresh meat and fish, the dragonet immediately started snoozing with its head dangling long over Thehy's shoulder.

The bond was strong among the trio, so now Thehy had two little dragons as companions!
