Rules and Regulations for play on Dragon Island Survivor

Mainly, remember that this is a game for our characters, not player versus player. No off-topic attacks or commentary.
Every character that participates must abide by the in-game rules. Every player must agree to these rules as well.
Participants include a "rider" and a "bond". Generally these will be human/dragon pairs, but other types will be acceptable. As long as one is the "rider" and the other is the "dragon" the whole time.
Each week, an event (if any), challenge and prize will be announced on the Nexus board. Players will have a certain amount of time to participate. A poll will be placed each week to determine the winner of that week's challenge, and will be voted on by *everyone* including those who have been voted off the island.
After the prize winner is determined, another poll will go up to determine who will get voted off the island. This is a FINAL decision, unless emergency immunity must be granted. Another will get the boot if the chosen is Immune. ONLY those left on the island are allowed to vote in this poll.
Immunity from being booted off the island will be granted to anyone who, in Real Life, is not able to participate that week. ONLY ONE immunity may be granted this way! (Though an immunity prize for a challenge might be awarded!)

Participants and their dragon/bond may not use exotic magic spells or items during their stay on the Island. This is a list of what IS appropriate:

Basic Telepathy; Basic Shapeshifting (if bond/dragon is a shifter); Basic Levitation; Basic Breath Weaponry; Basic Teleportation - ON ISLAND ONLY.

This is a list of what is NOT appropriate:

Invasive Telepathy/Mental attacks; High-Tech Weaponry; Book Spells or Ritual Spells; Machinery allowing Teleportation / Genrehopping; Magic or Innate abilities of Teleportation for off-island travel; Sensing or Communication Off Island; Flitters/Pets (see next rule).

Flitters and other pets will be kept on the island, AWAY from the participants. They will be tended by professionals, so they will not become sick or injured. They will only be allowed contact with their owner IF they are included as a Prize for a weekly Contest. Their use during that time will be limited by the specific wording of that week's prize.

Fighting or endangering the other contestants or their dragon/bonds is strictly forbidden. Agreed-upon sparring or dueling (with observers only) is acceptable. Flirtation or mating is not forbidden, but not exactly encouraged. Endangering the crew, their equipment, or observers is strictly against the rules. Taunting them however, is okay. :)

Leaving the island will automatically disqualify the participant and their bond. If for some reason there is an emergency at the participant's home/location, they will be allowed to leave and return - but only as observers, their time in the game is over at that point.

If a participant or their bond breaks any of the rules of the Island-

First offense - they will be barred from recieving any Immunity, even if granted by a challenge prize.

Second offense - they will automatically be disqualified and removed from the Island.

Warnings will be given depending on the severity of the rule being broken. This is not saying that every time one character is written to do something wrong, they will get caught! Getting away with it is part of the fun!

All voting will be done on the Nexus board, by participants only. If the player wishes, they may discuss- IN CHARACTER - their reasons for voting the way they have. Treat this as a private confession-camera event, away from others and not for commentary otherwise.

A 'camera crew' or two will be on hand to film EVERYTHING and broadcast it (somehow) to all participating homeworlds. Via television, crystal ball, scrying, or just plain cyberuplinks, everyone will know what's going on on this island... :) Don't mess with the camera crew. They know where you sleep...
