With cockatoo-like avian features and skunk-mammal body it's hardly a stretch to imagine that their sonic and, well, gas-based powers are appropriate. This griff is considered ‘medium' at 5'9” shoulder height, which is a departure for either of its dna types. At the Ball they have become very conscious of their smell, and have made an effort to diffuse even their musk, to strong degree, but ... yeah, everyone still kinda whiffs a little. |

Skills and Profession: When someone mentioned that they might need a distraction while they were... let's say 'assessing a shop inventory', Breathhold actually jumped at the chance to do something fun. Though he is definitely a little more wary these days, he is an incredibly good busker and huckster, can sell virtually anything to anyone with just a little nudging. And if those deals fall through or those items are at risk of being... let's say repossessed by their original handlers, he is very good at letting an epic stank bomb go, and with his psionic powers wafting it over to the guards. It's kind of a no brainer that if you're going to approach this Griff, you be wearing proper face protection... But that said, he's markedly charming and apt with communication skills as well as those snappy dodge-and-roll and grappling skills. A cockatoo's clever use of beak, claw, wing, and talon? There's no net capable of holding him, no lock he can't simply whittle his way through with that sharp beak or his tiny nudges with psionic bursts of air on a lock's mechanism. Manipulation of air specifically to create sound bursts and fill areas with noxious gas, can also remove said gas or its effects, soften or amplify sound in the immediate area, and communicate with a single distant (line of sight) receiver in a whisper that no others can hear. Gas can cause immediate sickness, unconsciousness, or merely pain depending on its intensity, and that intensity can be focused incredibly well with a bit of manipulation. |
Possessions: A lot of the stuff Breathhold has was swiped during his youth (okay, maybe yesterday, maybe 10 years ago...) but no one's going to come looking for it now. He's started relocating it with the aid of his little teleporting buddies, to the Grotto where he has set up in a large shaped tree. The tree will be open for business as long as you don't mind a tiny tiny bit of stank lingering on the stuff you're buying there... |
Personality: He loves being the center of attention as well as the fulcrum point of a heist. As long as his partners aren't going to try and stiff him of what he's due once they're done sorting the loot, he won't go looking for faces to spray. He really doesn't want to use his gas spray, because it is absolutely vile, but yeah he's had plenty of practice. Not shy, very curious and intensely intelligent, and uses every part of his physical and psionic presence very cleverly. |
History: As above, he's a first-story bird, or perhaps The Distraction indeed, to bigger things going on behind the scenes. Now that he has not one but two little cohorts, partners in crime, he's going to have to start explaining them away when he takes them on jaunts through mainland cities: they're in costume! They're in magical disguises! Anyone trying to get too close to those 'costumes' will regret it. He's bold enough to try this, but he's also smart enough to get away with bringing little offworld dragons right up to people on the mainland, showing them off, and lying about their origins. He knows the serious business going on in the Grotto, protecting the larger dragons from detection, and he will never betray their trust. He knows that while he's surely able to escape the nets or dodge harpoons from shipside cannons, the ire of an entire group of dragons is not on his list of things to do ever. As long as they're okay with him literally stealing for a living... He's not a pirate, he won't just up and take things from those who have need of it! He's not uncivilized! |
