Name: Dinvilusetadosrelet, "Dinviluse" DIN vil loose tah DOSE reh let

Gender: Male

Age: unknown, likely under 40 with a 500+ year lifespan

Species: Griffin, snowy owl - snow leopard *

Racial Oddities: *it is known that this 'Griff' has at least one four-footed Kind in his recent family line, likely on the cat-like spectrum (many Kind are sent to Griffinfall)

Family: unknown, they are reclusive and live in one of the far-flung peaks 'somewhere'

Origin/Current Location: originally from Griffinfall, now has technically made his home on the Gelgelan Eminence up in the higher portions of the caldera walls where the environment more matches his Griffinfall origin

Height: 5' at shoulder, 17' beak to tail tip, around 33' wingspan

Weight: much lighter than you'd think, yet still more than hefty enough to break prey's back when diving on it...

Hair: no hair as such, but with a Wyldkin grandparent it's possible that he has black or white hair genetically

Eyes: amber yellow, with vertical slit pupils

Appearance: feathers in snowy white, pale greys, markings in black; sturdy and sleek, with red-tinted talon-claws allowing him to rip into many surfaces as well as prey; moves entirely silently on the ground or in the air, and has a low but loud voice that can echo eerily

Weapons and Armor Skills: Like most Griffs, Din is not adept with physical weaponry or armor. However he can use psionics and the elements to his advantage, and no one expects how quickly he can dive-bomb a massive elk or snow-bear, ripping it apart with talons and beak. He uses his hind paws to defend should he ever encounter something that actually has him in its clutches, raking with horrible effect at weak spots and wriggling out of its grasp. Unlike some bird types, he will not use his wings to 'snap' at enemies, his owl-based bird parts would be ill suited to this.

Skills and Profession: Though his family was likely much more involved with the local gem and fur trade, Dinviluse took off on his own at a rather young age, exploring and getting lost a while, but realizing his multiple talents for elemental psionics were very strong at the same time. Having survived in the rugged snowy wilderness atop that mountain range, he sometimes hires himself out to local rescue crews, hunting groups, and 'tourists' who don't seem to understand how dangerous Griffinfall really is. He is easily able to move around in the terrain of belly-deep snow, sharp rocks, sudden cliffs apt to drop icy avalanches, and the lower elevation thick treetops, and using his psionics, can either leave an obvious trail in the form of a runnel to pass difficult spots, or absolutely unseen in a hazy fog or storm that covers all possible tracks. He is not comfortable in urban settings, nor in warmer or dry regions, but keeps track of many trails and exploration areas to sell his expertise in those towns down the mountainside.
Possessions: He is a gem shaper, so obviously he has a collection of shinies, the likes of which would melt a thief's brain. He does have a hidey hole back at Griffinfall but also his current location in the top of the Gelgelan Eminence's caldera rim, absolutely filled with this stuff. He prefers to dig it out of the ground or caverns himself, rather than trading for them, they're personal to him and he will only get rid of the ones that for whatever reason don't suit his fancy at the time. That said, he absolutely makes a lot of money dumping the 'spares' on Jewel Witch trading houses... He knows that his skills are suited to their particular bent, providing smaller but purified stones for their diadems means he's always welcome at their facilities even if he's not inclined to take them up on it often.
Personality: reclusive but not entirely withdrawn, he simply prefers to be active in the wilderness and not among throngs of two-footers even if they're furry. Vastly enjoys sitting and talking shop with other Griff elementalists, Kind psionicists, and the rare Jewel Witch. Though he's not 'always on the move', he definitely finds himself in a variety of locations, almost always above the snow lines, and has an impeccable memory for where he's been.

History: Where he has been, has been 'all over the place'. When the Gelgelans arrived, he took note: their volcanic island simply hadn't existed until 'now', and where there is volcanic activity, he knows, may be beautiful gems, obsidian, and other such useful things - including the tall, rugged caldera rim itself, now covered in yearly snow. After having been on a 'world tour' eastward along the entire mountainous spine of Dragondeep's continent, while at the Necromancer's realm he plotted how best to reach this new weird glimmer on his psionic eye. He made the over-sea trip easily, his air elemental power boosting the winds in his favor for several thousand miles. He woudn't like dropping into the ocean, but he did rest a day or so on a particularly southerly ice floe. He knows the way back to the mainland from this place, though it would be a harder flight because the winds definitely do not favor going back the way he came, so it'd be a more simple flight toward the south-west. However, while that does bring him over the Never Ending Grotto (where he also has spent time now), to reach the actual continent means he'd have to fly over the Gods' Tears and he will not want to do that more than once.

He did discover that these Gelgelans, Wyldkin-looking people, had brought with them dragons. Not of this world, absolutely different than anything he'd ever seen. There were leathery winged ones, long skinny skake like ones, and... a few that even resembled Griffs. One in particular nosed up to him, with a snout equally reptilian and cervine in appearance. Antlers grew from his head, along with a massive plume of storm-grey feathers. He had known Griffs with plumage like that, in fact quite a lot of these lovely feathers on the 'dragon' seemed similar to the Griffin Queen herself. But clearly this wasn't a Griff. Din remains unconvinced that Starioq is even a dragon, but hey, he's not a demon or fey, so at least they've got that going for them. Together, this dramatically white and black pair maintain and watch over the highest reaches of the Eminence, offering warnings or rescues for the occasional cliff fall or avalanche.

Dragon:

Dragon Name: Starioq "starry ock"
Gender: Male
Size: small (long) 7' s/ 40' l / 40' ws
Build: long and lean, more tail than anything else
Physical/Breed Features: canine-like high-hipped body and paws, deer-like neck and antlers with a bit of long-mouthed snub-nosed reptile face, pheasant tailed and frilled neck, very large crest feathers, and back feathers that appear to aid in balancing; he does have wings but they are short and curved, like a ground-bird's
Colors: all shades of darker grey, black, and soft white, faintly dappled underparts
Stats: Strength 4, Speed 5, Endurance 4, Agility 6, Health 2, Intelligence 5
Abilities: Winged Flight, though he has a pheasant's short wings, he can still fly for reasonable distances, however he prefers short flights under half a mile, and can hop from one cliff to another breaking his fall or catching a little breeze easily; he doesn't carry things unless it's an emergency, but can hold a rescued person or a camping supply basket if they're heading downwards, and requires air magic to boost if they have to go up with it
Ground Agility, in the trees and cliffs of the Eminence as well as mainland Dragondeep should he ever visit it, Starioq is gifted with a swift run, easily dodging things, and able to almost scamper up trees like a squirrel
Verbal Speech, eloquent and seemingly learned, Starioq has a voice that can mock or emulate almost like a magic spell to disguise it, talking in the high chitters of song birds or the deep shrieking of a bull elk, he knows several variations on the common tongues of Dragondeep at this point, so he's the one doing any extensive communication when they're in town
Animal Elemental Psionics, if it is not sentient or humanoid, it's his to command. Pretty much everything from the eagles soaring overhead, to the squirrels in the shrubs, deer and dogs alike, are willing to accept him as their leader, their partner, their instructor, or their guardian - and he can will them to essentially do anything for him. He is thankfully not a cruel master of such things, though he will definitely pit angry wolves against each other to allow a traveling group to escape their fangs. He does his own hunting, and will cause a prey animal to sleep or be calm while he's sinking his teeth into its throat, he doesn't care for all the residual emotional baggage that comes with terror or anger. He can sense birds or beasts within about half a mile, but only commands birds and mammals, reptiles and fish can be sensed but not commanded in this manner. Able to detect the weak one in a herd, or an animal that's protecting its young, he recommends people steer clear or specifically points out those to make sure that a herd is culled properly, or that a den isn't missing its mother.
Parents: Unknown, offworld dragons - not certainly related to others, but might be!
Origin: Adopted from and Art By Noxeri on Deviantart
Bond: Dinviluse
Meeting Notes: as above, Starioq appeared with the Gelgelans, though it's unlikely that he actively traveled with them. Merely showing up due to the massive fluctuations in magic and spacetime there, riding the wake of a strange Nexus quake of some kind. While he doesn't mind the people down in the lowlands or in their weird cities, he too prefers being up in the hills, into the mountainous peak, and on the thick forest floor under the canopy of snow
