Notes: Pellyr cohabits Zekira and Dragondeep, residing near the amazing caverns of Ist on Zekira, but also with his childhood home on the Peridot Point - an island north-east of the Province, in the Archipelago of Rubies on Dragondeep. However, he has had to pick up another location there, in the Never-Ending Grotto on the north ocean - due to his having, y'know, dragons with him now. |
Dragondeep Specs (Also Zekiran, because I didn't make a whole character sheet for Dragondeep of him)
Lives: Curra/Altem/Ist (mines) - arrived here thanks to portal technology on his homeworld, and liked it enough that he's maintained a steady job on Zekira. Crystal tuned psionics there are extremely valuable, perhaps more so than even his home in the Province of the Jeweled Witch, because crystal technology powers Zekiran lifestyles world-wide, where as his work with gems and ores is somewhat limited to Jewel Witch tech on Dragondeep. He likes reaching a much wider audience.
Status: Atasan, settled in firmly with ease, as most Jewel Witch imports do since they're suited to luxuries as well as hard work
Land |
Units / Use |
Total: 1249
|
note that the physical dimensions of the lands he has don't necessarily equate to 'square miles', because the value of the items on the land are what gives them most of their Unit numbers. The Dragon Holds however are quite vast. |
Zekira: total 735 |
This is more than enough to put him into either Suzerain or Atasan status, he chose Atasan |
Curra/Altem/Ist |
10 unit home - this spot was for sale, and hadn't had anyone interested due to its proximity to mining operations. But Pellyr is definitely used to those ops, and snapped it up, improving its value immediately with cleanup and bringing folks back to the area.
10 unit Crystal and Gem Cutting Facility - associated with the mining operations, he's been able to coax out a fantastic array of useful crystals, and has often shaped the results himself, offering them for sale mainly to industrial and medical facilities around Zekira
110 unit Unusual Powers School - you'd think that in the area there would be more effort made to educate and train up those with powers suited to working in the mines nearby, now there is one, and he's begun collecting people from both Dragondeep and Zekira to help there
240 unit Dragon Hold - unusual dragons will live here, and he's prepaired for keeping them safe and sound, even if they are required to fight aliens
365 unit Crystal Mine - the place was just a run down pile of badly dug tunnels when he got here. Now, it's a gleaming and hugely profitable source of industrial grade crystals (and the occasional truly magnificent show piece) |
Dragondeep: 514 |
given in Zekiran unit size for comparison |
Peridot Point |
14 unit Family Home and grounds - though the housing is actually only a minor portion of this complex, his childhood home is quite well made and enjoyable, a villa style with a central courtyard with a fountain, numerous apartment-style homes for extended relatives or employees, and a group kitchen that actually has its own staff full time
200 unit Crystal Mines and Facilities - the facilities here are some of the finest in the Province, and it is true that ruling families often keep their gear in secure vaults on the island... they know because this 'facility' is actually a front for one of them. It still produces amazing and useful gemstones, but they are also paid to keep other people's diadems and loot secure here |
Never-Ending Grotto |
10 unit home - built similarly to the villa on Peridot Point and filled to the brim with fun goodies from multiple worlds
290 unit Dragon Hold - since he cannot allow the dragons under his care to show up virtually anywhere else on Dragondeep, this is where they will reside. They have an overlapping portal-based doorway that leads between Zekira and Dragondeep here, like many who inhabit this island; so the dragons themselves have easy access to a simply massive section of land, it's just split between two dimensions and worlds! |

|
Zekira Only |
|
Bayaran |
45 - these people work in the mines and tend the grounds of his home and facilities, a couple of them were actually provided with his homestead when he bought it, moving their debt to his accounts and introducing him to the world of Bayaran and Budak... Hard Stock, and he's not exactly happy with how to handle some of that... |
Budak |
He (like almost all Jewel Witch or import from Dragondeep) does not support full ownership of sentients regardless of Status;
this requirement has been waived for offworlders Holding here, normally an Atasan must also Hold Budak in quantities over 5 for 10 year periods to keep their Status; his preference to utilize large numbers of Bayaran and his quality of work have helped him avoid any weird laws or entanglements, and he has been known to buy a Budak and raise them into Bayaran arbitrarily, just to keep up appearances |

B6, genetically engineered to be superior to most on Dragondeep, and definitely holds true on Zekira as well |

*Fully Fertile with any humanoids (He is very much in demand on Zekira to boost their fertility as well as for his Tunings) |

Power Rank 2, Genetic Purity 29 |
Minor / Personal |
Minor Healing - able to apply his psionic 'hands' to small wounds (8points or less) and fix them within a few minutes, usually he does this to cuts and scrapes from gem cutting and simple issues from the mines, but it doesn't help for falls or bigger injuries so he leaves that to professionals
Weather Sense - a localized ability to tell rainfall, humidity and pressure, wind direction and strength, and while this might add up to 'why not just go outside' he doesn't have to be outside to do this, and it helps immensely with dragons out there
Dragon Empathy - while not unique among either Zekirans or Jewel Witches, some of his breed do have a much stronger attachment to dragons of any type at all, and he is among them. Even if they don't approve of these offworld dragons showing up, the local population of them are less inclined to squish Pellyr due to this slight nudge of empathy; it has a much more profound impact on dragons which require a bond or have access to such things, dramatically improving their communication and senses between rider and dragon |
Minor / Species |
Jewel Witches have very strong Psionic powers and are aided by gems and metals set into diadems/crowns, and tend toward technological advancements that allow them to use their Psionics directly with cybernetics - a feature which precious few Zekirans have! This counts as Minor: Diadem Aid, and boosts any psionic powers one tier (all Minor powers act as Major, Major as Special, and Special has a strong bonus for use) |
Diadem |
Ornate Complex Alloy base, featuring Copper as a main component, Ruby stone primary focus, Turquoise secondary, Pearl inlay; this diadem sits high on his forehead and clips on thanks to internally installed braces; the ruby portion of this diadem specifically shown is quite thin but strong and has been shaped around the copper to accent its color, and the turquoise can be faintly seen only at specific angles under this; the pearl is literally a pearl, he just likes them, they're pretty and simple compared to most of the stones he shapes (he cannot shape pearls) |
Major |
Mental Clouding - notably on Zekira this is typically a Minor power, but his family in particular have this ability and it has been passed for generations... and is why those rich folks entrust them with their goods to be kept secret! He can gently hand-wave weird things (though not a full-ass dragon weird, that's way out of his control rank) or nudge the spotlight away from himself or a big vault door on a tour group, this power works on multiple minds at once, which is why it's considered Major in rank; the mind in question will simply forget or not pay attention to whatever it is, so he could actually guide a tour group through said Vault and they'd not even bat an eye or remember anything about that section |
Special |
Crystal Control - highly prized powers like this are what made his family truly great, and what will make any of his Zekiran children well known. He can take a walk through a mine shaft or even just along a trail somewhere, and know just exactly what kinds of crystaline formations are within about 50 meters in a sphere around him. Though he cannot shape rock or soil, he can 'call' a crystal to his hand, and it works its way somehow through that solid matter. He tends to concentrate on smaller items, and less precious but more useful formations, but any strong crystaline structure will respond to his touch; he can rid a crystal of spare stone or ore (it will fall off, not reshape or change substance) in minutes depending on the size or volume of crystals involved; his power can 'tune' a stone to vibrate or respond at specific frequencies, which is a huge boon on Zekira since they use these stones for all their communication and data storage as well as monitors and whatever else... |
Mutations (they aren't actually a 'mutant', but compared to Zekirans these do qualify as mutations since they don't occur in most naturally bred individuals there) |
Minor |
Human-Style Facial and Body Hair - Zekirans are notoriously smooth from the eyebrows down... they don't know how to 'shave' because most of them never need to |
Major |
*Fertility - it might be typical for a Jewel Witch to be able to breed with pretty much any humanoid (hint: it isn't), but he is definitely capable of doing so, even with those who aren't exactly as close as most... |
|
Skills and Profession: even though he's very young, Pellyr is quite keenly intelligent and is able to use his powers effectively. As a gem-cutter on Dragondeep he has a lot of experience in assessment of ores, raw minerals, crystal deposits, and the like; he can use tools as well as his powers to clean up and focus stones of almost any type, though he does tend to work more with purifying gems of their imperfections, and making them into more functional for use in radio equipment, any form of technology responds well to these small crystals. He is also 'high class' - able to maneuver socially in ways that are markedly geared toward the rich and powerful, big-business, and the like. That isn't to say he doesn't have time for the workers and Bayaran under his care, he knows that a secure, healthy, and comfortable worker produces the best results, and as such his Holdings are regularly screened for dangers, and his workers health care is of top priority for him.
|
Personality: though he can seem very intimidating purely by virtue of his size and obvious strength, Pellyr puts people at ease almost immediately, and is often known as 'the huggable one' (though he does have to remember not to squeeze with his full strength, he definitely gives great bear hugs). He likes to keep his professional side well clear of his personal life, and enjoys the fruits of his work by supporting the arts. On Zekira this comes in the form of regular 'paid outings' for his Bayaran and other workers in his facilities, where they will take a dozen folks out to the races (careful with that stipend, you don't want to be deeper in debt) or to movies and shows. He does love watching the Steed races, but isn't sure that he would do well trying to actually race or plop a bunch of money on betting. Though he doesn't avoid betting, he allots himself a specific amount, and 'play money' for others, and as such he's become quite popular among his workers for letting them have a little fun without the terrible consequences they'd often face. He does want to settle down and have a family, so he's a touch leery of the Zekiran methods of 'spray and pray' fertility clinics... But if he does get paired up with someone they find for him, he'll try and at least make the best of it for their children! After all, they will be inheriting more than genetics from him - his Holdings will definitely be theirs too. |
Possessions: On Dragondeep his villa and family home stores many trinkets and doodads, and he does appear there regularly. Since he has several older siblings who will be inheriting the majority of the locale and work load, though he doesn't exactly 'slack off' there, he isn't going to be the head of operations and can afford to just dump nice things in his suite and then run off again. He has a lot of nice things. Many of which have been brought from offworld now, but no one else really gets to tour his rooms and can't ask about it. Basically anything he really wants, he can certainly afford - on both Dragondeep and Zekira, and likely any other world which trades in gems or minerals. Since he can take a crappy cut of a stone and make it into something gorgeous and shining within a few minutes just by staring at it real hard, he is never, ever, going to want for a place to stay or clothes to wear... or entertainment, or potential mates... |
|
History: Pellyr is the fourth of five engineered children that his parents (and grandparents, and great-grandparents) arranged to be created. Since they have a long history guarding the higher-end goods of the rich and famous in the Province, they have standards to uphold, and Pellyr meets those with style. As a very young child he was gifted his first Diadem and he shaped it to his own liking right as it was being handed to him - they knew he was going to go far.
They suggested he become schooled with the art of gemcutting more than the others in his family, and it took very little time for him to master this art. He wasn't even 12 when his masters in the field let him go his own way - he was much better than most at it, outright, and they only needed to drill into him the names and information, tool use, and practical diadem making process because the rest came so naturally.
His teen years were therefore filled with lots and lots of sifting through bins of stones, and it was then that he learned that he could heal himself as well as others, with little cuts and dings being so common among the folks working there. From the other workers, too, he learned gracious behavior and how lower-classes tended to need to scramble a little. Generous but not to a fault, Pellyr put his earnings to good use, and this would eventually feature strongly in his Zekiran investments. He would slide workers that he noticed were struggling little gifts here and there, not so much that they'd blurt out about it, but enough to cover their family's needs for a month or so, or take care of their pet while their kid was on a trip, that kind of thing. Also during his teen years and early adulthood, Pellyr started to notice how different his family unit really was, since even most of his coworkers were the products of single-parent homes or loose genetic arrangements. But he also definitely knew that they were special, when their father passed the legal torch off to their eldest son - the Vault contracts were things they all knew about but expressly never just casually spoke of.
So as a product of an unusual family, with a very focused six-generation breeding system, Pellyr knows the value of keeping secrets, as well as producing his own very fine work to be proud of. |

Dragons!
Somehow he wound up with a visitor from another world, even though they're not really close to the Copper Portal (in fact you can't really get much farther from it and still be in the Province, given how much water is between it and his home). This visitor alerted him - and only him - to the presence of some unusual dragons on that world. They passed through a portal that most certainly hadn't been there in his villa's garden all this time, and wound up at a place known as Nidus Ryslen. And here, a number of gorgeous dragons, absolutely suited to his preferences, awaited transport somewhere more fun than just their nesting area.
The first to slink toward him on those unusual limbs was a lighter shaded tan-looking female who asserted I know there's another, he's a bit of a snot though...
"Another?" Pellyr asked, a bit surprised. After checking, he could feel their minds on these warm sands, and sure enough one was heading right for them. Bigger even as a hatchling, he strode over and nudged the smaller one out of the way.
Mine too, he thought, and Pellyr understood what the first had meant suddenly...
***
They did get along pretty well though, once they had the room to move around. Pellyr knew that they couldn't remain in the villa, there were too many potential eyes - and even his power could only reach those he knew had spotted them... Yet there was a whisper in his mind, somehow, that drew him to do a little more research.
An island, virtually unexplored and hardly on any maps, even digital ones? It wasn't tiny, though hardly a third the size of Peridot Point itself. He'd go to it, he'd... have to hire a ship, one with a crew that could keep secrets without being asked, and that came in the form of the True Star. A good crew, a very good captain.
And dragons with them, who didn't come from Dragondeep either. Their onboard bard, the capybarda he liked to joke, Ronen, was apparently bonded to a sea-faring drake hybrid with control over the weather? That... pinged Pellyr's power every time he used it, too!
So now this trio of human and dragons made their way across stormy chilled seas, toward a magnificent all-but-hollow island. Due north of the Isle of the Blessed Idols, which meant a lot of traffic would avoid the area entirely - a bonus. Only those who knew where this island was, would generally reach it!
I want to see our new home from above, as soon as I can fly! Ebelorth proclaimed. Yriloth can come too I guess.
The other dragon rolled their eyes and gave a scoffing chuff in reply, nothing more.
It wouldn't be long before those dragons would fly, but they also met up with a few others now residing on the place. It seemed that a good few of them weren't local to Dragondeep either - they'd been adventurers on a world similar to, but definitely not this one. And also, found dragons on yet another world.
All that world-bouncing has led to Pellyr being discovered by the DragonMasters of Zekira, and from there... who knows where he'll head? But he has two magnificent dragons to defend their territory, breathing acid and fire to take down those pesky weird invading aliens. What next? |
Name: Yriloth
Gender: Female (they/them)
Size/Shoulder/Length: 10'11" s / 55' l / 140' ws
Colors: Verdigris (Approximately 37% Green) (g37), body is mottled metallic pale copper almost reaching a tan shade, with turquoise-mottled blue-greens across face, feet and tail; wingsails burnished medium copper; eye and shoulder armor gold; eyes green
Features: A new rank mutation. They are known for being easy-going to a fault. They need a strong leader, or their loyalty will change with the wind. They even seem to choose their riders randomly, but their partners are almost always willful and determined people. They tend to be genderfluid more often than other ranks. They are more likely to object to being called by only one of their colors than by the wrong pronouns. Verdigris dragons are a bicolored rank. Their hides are both metallic copper and chromatic teal in varying amounts. These colors are co-dominant, and neither is base and neither is markings. They are not usually not more than 75% one color or the other. "RysHathians" are Old World (Pernese) x Hathian hybrids. These ones are 50/50, but the Hathian wing-arm seems to be dominant, at least at Ryslen. They do not Require bonds, but do strongly prefer them. They can also join a Pack or remain Single, though that is the rarest choice.
Powers: Winged Flight
Teleportation
Communication, Telepathy; draconic verbal only
Weapons, Unassisted Firebreath, Unassisted Acid Spit
Parentage: Tasalea and Kelustekth, clutches 1 and 2 (giveaway 2 in this case)
Origin: Nidus Ryslen giveaway
Other Info: Yriloth knows that her body is 'female' but really genuinely doesn't care. If they ever do rise to mate it will be with a long and deliberate partnership first, they just don't want to jump into egg laying ... what will it do to their figure? They are also quite casually 'nice', and prefer the company of a few rather than many, and they have a perch overlooking one of the nice Grotto's bracken pools - an area they love to fish from. |
Name: Ebelorth
Gender: Male (he/him)
Size/Shoulder/Length: 12'4" s / 62' l / 160' ws
Colors: Verdigris (Approximtely 58% Copper) (c58); body is speckled dark red-copper metallic, with lighter portions reaching a pale tan at most; wingsails brightly turquoise-teal with copper spots along wing arm only; eye and shoulder armor gold; eyes green

Other Info: Yes, he's a burly, handsome, strong dragon! Not remarkably bright, but picks up on things quickly enough. If he has questions he'll ask them. At any time, any place, and of anyone. He also has some amount of personal space issues, in that he doesn't recognize them in any way, and is bound to rile some folks - dragon or humanoid - by just barging in when least expected. The image above? Yeah, Yrlioth trying to get scritches... where's mine? huh?
