Name: Nestor Ribiero

Gender/Preference: Male, he/him, straight...ish

Age/DOB: 27 in 1855 / 18th day, Month of Timber

Faction: Independent / Shopkeeper (formerly good standing, now black market)

Family: Father Theophilos, runs the shop with him; mother Martha, deceased in fire; no other relatives, he's tried to get in with several of the local Ladies or even the higher ranking merchants that do trading in Upper Aventa, but they seem to snub him largely due to their own shop's location

Height/Build: 6'1" / wiry and lean, he hardly cuts an imposing figure

Hair: ashy black, will go white like his father's within a decade; a bit more silky than his father's, professionally styled and kept short

Eyes: blue, quite bright like the sea at noon; a bit squinty

Appearance: light skinned with a few small scars from childhood adventures as well as shop injuries; he is attractive and enjoyable to be around (so why won't the ladies pay attention?), and has a good sense of fashion style. He has a pleasant voice, overall he's an excellent salesman and contact.

"He imagines he could sell the Abbey a shrine to the Outsider, and he's not far from wrong."

Skills and Occupation: Nestor would like to have those local disputes between factions settled once and for all, so they can then concentrate on the renovations of the area. Nestor handles a lot of the book keeping. He does enjoy doing the busy work and trade, and does more of the travel around the area since his father is growing a little stiff for all that work. If he does eventually take over the shop he'll probably start employing some of the folk who have been down on their luck, though with a keen eye on if things go missing.

Residence: 3rd floor of the building where Ribiero's Resale is, on Avila Avenue in the Dust District. While the building itself is sturdy and well kept, including the shop on the bottom floor, the surrounding structures are growing less and less so, to the point of having holes and broken windows, brickwork that is missing, and piles of dust and sand everywhere. The shop is maintained carefully, usually by Nestor, and their apartments have recently... expanded. Since the others in the building have either died or left the District, and ‘it was just sitting there unused', Nestor has moved to the third floor of the structure while his father keeps the second floor to himself.

Notable Possessions: Ribiero's Resale! This shop had been in his family for several generations, and while Nestor is clearly capable of running the place formally, Theo is hesitant (bitter) and won't quite let go just yet. Nestor's apartment has more artwork and is slightly brighter, he tries to keep the south-facing windows open because the dust doesn't come directly into them.

Magical Preferences or Abilities: Neither father nor son are Marked by the Outsider, however they both know that mark when they see it, and that's because they often have Runes and even a few scattered Bone Charms on hand for sale. Due to the proximity to the ocean, and dangerous conditions in that sea, quite a few of these wash up on shore, and Theo pays local street kids to fetch them. Even with these dangerous heretical items in the shop, the Overseers have looked the other way so far - or don't realize they're for sale right under their noses.

Personality: Nestor would like to possibly branch out on his own, but for now there's more than enough to do here at their shop.

Likes and Dislikes: Nestor likes busy work, gossip, and drinking at the Crone's Hand. Even if he is a little irate that his father won't retire or allow him to lead operations, he loves Theo with all his heart, and knows that Theo clings to him as his last family. He wouldn't use this against the older man. He would prefer to have a more bustling business but that might mean he'd have to give up his nice large apartment again if people realized he'd just moved on in...

Fears or Interruptions: unattached to any specific faction, but clearly benefits from shady deals; does not do business with Guard faction members openly, if they shop it's by appointment because Theo does not want them disrupting his profitable under-the-table deals. They know of these deals of course, they pay their ‘other taxes' to the specific guards assigned to this area to make sure that his shop can remain open. If a new guard shows up during regular hours they're treated cordially but will not be offered ‘tax' - that's for the captain to collect, and him only

History: The elder is still quite sure that the area will eventually ‘become what it had been before...', while the younger is eager to make whatever he can of this situation.

Nestor was spared from the fire that ripped through the building, since he was at the Conservatory at the time. Having to raise his son alone meant that Nestor had a lot of tutors, and was introduced to plenty of people well before he was actually ready to run or even work at the store.
