Skills and Occupation: originally designed as a prototype for a 'clockwork soldier' project, and discarded in favor of a lighter-weight and more specific design later. However, the programming it has was retained in a general fashion and this means that the Prototype will seek out invaders, crime being perpetrated, or other such activities, triggering defensive and offensive code. It can recognize friend from foe, and foe from victim - something that the next generation soldiers often had difficulty doing... It knows how to adjust its weaponry to provide nonlethal options when requested by allies. That doesn't mean it isn't extremely dangerous - it can accidentally hit things with both electrical power or its own back plate arms, causing significant damage. In Paragon City, it has made itself quite useful patrolling the streets for gang activity. Residence: Currently in Paragon City, Rhode Island, Primal Earth/Twoarth, however it has a place tucked away in the Void as well - provided by the Outsider himself, where it recharges when it is exhausted Notable Possessions: replacement parts, power supplies, and Kirin Jindosh's written and verbal recordings of its creation. Some of these would become incredibly valuable as 'the only one of its kind' though the thought of selling either itself or its production notes has never occurred to the Prototype. Well, it has thought of it, but never considered doing so. It has ethical concerns about what its 'new owners' might want it to do. |

Magical Preferences or Abilities: Though the Prototype is not inherently magical, since it was retrieved by Levi it can seemingly feed off of energy sources that wouldn't normally power a Clockwork Soldier. | |||
Personality: In as much as it has a personality, 'protective, loyal, and built to impress and intimidate' come close. It does have a strong sense of justice, protecting those which it sees as victims, though it is only marginally able to distinguish acting from actuality, so please don't bring it to an action movie... Likes and Dislikes: it seems to have a proud air when it subdues criminals and is praised for it, and as such its algorithms have filtered toward nonlethal methods while in Paragon. Anywhere else, not so much. Doing a good job is what it was supposed to enjoy, it doesn't seem to 'thrill' to killing anything, but the hunt is where it definitely chats in Jindosh's voice the most. When prey eludes it, or when it takes damage that isn't easily repaired, the Prototype seems to offer itself condolences, disappointment, and even dismay. Fears or Interruptions: the Prototype doesn't communicate very well, but it would actually like to do so. It only has a terribly limited amount of voice options, and if those are ever corrupted or damaged, it will never be able to convey anything. It does seem to fear losing control among allies, and clearly protects its power supplies on various missions - if they are damaged too badly to recharge back in the Void, it will simply cease to exist. |

History:
Arguably one of the most brilliant engineers and inventors of the era, Kirin Jindosh of Karnaca produced a great many amazing devices. His hugely successful line of Clockwork Soldiers and Sentinels, among the last of his works before his ... untimely fall from grace, were preceded by numerous experimental versions. While some wound up refined and added to the Dolores Michaels bank for security, others seemed to have been fiddled with and then thrown away as imperfect. One such imperfect creation caught the attention of the Outsider. Imbued with a sort of magical sentience, this clockwork creature of wood and electricity now roams the Void as well as connected locations. It has followed its original intention of being a guard, though it's decision to begin actively hunting those criminals may lead it to ruin eventually. For now, be wary of its blades, its many arms, and its electrified power source - all deadly in degrees. |
