Name: Ruben Leynham Gender/Preference: Male, he/him, straight Age/DOB: 35 in 1855; 3rd Day, Month of Seeds Faction: Independent, Market Import/Export, Black marketeer Family: An extensive family with cousins and relatives 'scattered far and wide', the Leynham line produces tobacco products world-wide; he does not have a wife or girlfriend, he's way too busy - but eventually maybe he'll arrange something official with another of the trade families; Cousin Ruthie Leynham lives and works in Karnaca Height/Build: 6'1" / well muscled, that's not fat or chub on his chest and thighs. He spends time walking the port, or more rarely being aboard ships going between Cullero and Dunwall or other cities along coasts that they trade with, and isn't shy about helping on board, but cleans up before appearing before any city official Hair: black, with ashy highlights, will go striking silver as he ages rather than white; silky and fine, quite long, and kept styled in a tail with fashionable ties and bows to accent it Eyes: strong, strangely red-orange tinted brown; under haughty looking brows Appearance: tanned skin that maintains a brown shade rather than copper or bronze in the sun; he is a remarkably attractive man, quite sought after, but hardly ever interested unless there may be eventual profit in it for his family. While he is aboard a ship, he keeps himself protected with leather and heavy cloth, but on the town or doing any business he is impeccably dressed in light silks, canvas pants, leather boots, and fine vests; he does smoke a pipe, of course their entire family is exposed to the tobacco they grow and package, he prefers a pipe so that he can purse his lips 'just so' in public... The tobacco is scented delightfully, as he is. His voice is smooth and low.

Skills and Occupation: His mundane skillset is that of a busy port authority bureaucrat, with paperwork and filing systems, as well as communication skills in order to make sure that everyone is on the same level when doing deals. He knows every inch of the port, all the shop keeps and dockworkers, officials, government and local authorities, and if you need directions he's your guy. He is a very fine tobacconist and has extensive knowledge of local flora as well. That cane will pierce thin leather, and he is adept with its use, it's not just made of wood, after all... Residence: Serkonos / Cullero, in a very fine white-painted wood home among a family owned plantation plaza, overlooking the port. The Leynham family dominates one massive section of the tobacco industry in Cullero, and as such their extended family has a large collection of housing, market stalls, and plantation hills. Notable Possessions: The shop that Ruben personally attends is closer to the port itself, but he works the import/export books and makes arrangements needed for both legitimate and illegal goods, and has most of the paperwork in it, rather than the goods themselves - those are scattered far and wide but he knows exactly where they all went (sorry no map of Cullero) |

Magical Preferences or Abilities: Not marked, not interested, too much to do.
Personality: he looks much more haughty than he really is, but he is a peacock and likes being well dressed to make a good impression - or the ‘right' impression to the ‘right' people. He is remarkably detail oriented, and hardly ever forgets a face, name, or information Likes and Dislikes: Everything in its place, a place for everything, that's his motto. He easily spots things that are out of place, such as people or accents, and though curious about a lot of those exotic places in distant parts of the Isles, he has little interest in visiting any of them, he likes it right there in Cullero. While he does have to visit Dunwall or some other ports, he tries to pawn those duties off on others in the family. He truly hates being bothered if he's doing something, and even more so if there's something wrong with any of his shipments. He does have a temper, don't get on his bad side. Fears or Interruptions: He hardly fears anything, but worries that his family business will somehow collapse - it's highly unlikely to actually happen, but he's seen the numbers, he dreams of them nightly. They have diversified a little in the time he's been handling their paperwork, for this reason. He does actively fear being aboard a ship and being hit by a storm - he would prefer an encounter with pirates, to that. |

History: Part of the Leynham tobacco sellers, with cousins and relatives scattered far and wide. If he was a little older, and maybe if there weren't so many other relatives in the way, he would stand to inherit the bulk of the Leynham estate... But he's more interested in keeping his part of it ‘just right', than hiring assassins to cause those others to have ‘accidents'. He has enough going on that any further duties would just make him exhausted.
