Name: Aysell [moon flood, Turkish] Gender: Female, pansexual Age/DOB: ~18, aged, RY5 Origin: created by Melissa and Rhea in Rapture Rookery Earth, using Repurposed DNA Family: A new generation ELL, with plenty of clone-siblings Other: created with specific splices from Bella's line as well as specific alterations due to Plasmid mixture Height: 5'8" Weight: 100* Icarus-like treatment reduces weight, but leaves her with long and even limbs, gentle curves, and plenty more muscle than you expect Hair: very black, slight brown tint in bright sunlight, heavy and silky, kept fairly short to jawline or neck at most, and simply styled, sometimes uses barettes or clips Eyes: sky blue, strongly angular with heavy epicanthal fold, under faint brows Appearance: darkly tanned skin without any markings or scars, full lips and a small, flat, broad nose; tends to be somewhat unexpressive, so if a smile or scowl appears you know she means it. Likes showing midriff, that upper part of her outfit is Icarus undershirt, but the rest is found and costume-based, wears very little other than black and red; her voice is quiet, somewhat low, and she says very little to anyone beyond a close group of friends Icarus Processing: yes, with the newer Plasmid-Icarus formula common to some after Rapture's rebuild. While being considerably less horrible to endure than the Icarus processing, the Plasmid formula is fairly specific and designed to endow the recipient with a narrow range of abilities, rather than enhancing those which are present in DNA already. Hers still strengthened her overall musculature (she's about 2x stronger than normal) and gives her very quick healing (up to 3x), as well as surprisingly fast reflexes for one who hardly seems to move her face at least (up to 4x dexterity, 2x move speeds). It definitely enhanced her Vortal abilities, in addition to creating some interesting results. |

Genetic Abilities: as she is an ELL, with the basic DNA afforded to most if not all of them, Aysell started out with a strong baseline for communication with those in her DNA line, and keeps adding to her collection of minds she can easily reach. She can speak telepathically, and prefers to, to her clone-sisters as well as those with stronger Vortal abilities, at up to 2 miles. Close range, she can actually speak to anyone including Vorts or dragons, within about 20 meters, so she can 'rest her voice'. Also due to her background DNA, she's predisposed to easily understanding machinery and mapping, though she doesn't really exploit this as much as most. The Plasmid mixture, however, exploits some of the telekinetic additional genes that Mel and Rhea mixed in, and Aysell is aptly named - for she is a water-shaper, able to sense and manipulate liquids of most sorts provided they aren't 'elemental metals' or merely molten solids. She can manipulate liquid gasses, but not 'heated' solids. If it has a melting point of room-temperature or so, Aysell can use it to coat things, move it around swiftly, condense it off surfaces, or attack with it in small pieces. Actual water (or 'close enough to water, given the pollutants around) is very easily sensed and shaped, she can take a very large volume of it (up to a 10' cubed room) and toss it around like it's a bubble wand. She can selectively remove impurities, though if it's all liquid that becomes much harder. Also Aysell can mist it, or create fog, provided some volume of liquid is available to do so - and this can be extremely dangerous to breathe, if it's 'toxic crap' being made liquid. She cannot manipulate ice, but she can sense through it, at least up to about 50 meters. She can sense through liquid water up to about 20 miles, so the distance between the Rookery and either the Bayou or the Ranch, with ease. This will detect motion, interruptions, she can sense the 'shape' that is outlined by boulders or fish, anything down to about the size of a combat boot, but smaller items can only be discerned if there's both a short distance and a smaller volume being sensed. (She can sense a tardigrade within arm's length in a cup of water, but that combat boot becomes blurry at 15 miles, and a barrel looks just like a tree trunk or rock at 20.)
Skills or Profession: Though her sisters tend toward mechanical advances she is all about using nature to its fullest. She is the one who anyone calls on to make sure that the tap water or ponds are fresh, clearing out the detritus and scum before it reaches those who can then remove any radiation or other contaminants. She has a great time washing windows, as well as drying them, condensing her pail or bucket back into a small area. When repairs on any of the dam and reservoir lines must be made, she can keep the water safely out of workers way. She also has searched around in the underground caverns below the Ranch and made sure that whatever lurks there is safely in its own spot and not where Vorts or visitors might get dragged down. On very rare occasions she's been seen to water-bend Combine scanners out of the air, smacking it with an entirely out of the blue wave.
Personality: Serious and somewhat stand-offish, she is still happy to be around people who need her, and enjoys exploring. Aysell prefers the company of her dragon and the Vorts, under the stars. Anyone that has managed to get close to her emotionally knows that she's graceful and focused, and she enjoys watching old cartoons with magic powers for inspiration.
Events or History: Aysell spent only a short period of time down in Rapture, though she was trained there given that her powers work best there. But she was brought up to the surface and when she was in the Rookery she was approached by the magnificent Proudsky, and decided that rather than return to Rapture with a dragon that was much too large to be comfortable there, they would maintain the reservoir and water lines at the Rookery proper. Currently residing in the Rookery, but is usually wandering somewhere between water features, and up and down the Pecos river making sure that there is adequate water down stream. If she's not easily in sight, the Vorts know where she is at any given time, and it's possible that they have more or less accepted her as one of their own. |
