Name: Sgt. Pascale Dermaux Gender: Male, straight Age/DOB: 21@Events Origin: Repurposed Earth, French-Canadian, part of northern PHEAR team Family: Unknown, likely deceased, no current relationships Other: Because he's part of a team organized by Armacham he has extensive history recorded with their databases, and Melissa is certainly looking up ways to mix and match Height: 6'0 Weight: 175, muscular and fairly lean after the Events, quite strong and used to walking with heavy gear Hair: dark brown with reddish tint, thick slightly kinked, kept short even after everything is settled back on Repurposed Earth, slightly balding; beard is redder and people claim he dyes it, but it actually is two-toned naturally Eyes: Startling gold, with a strong dark brown rim, under quirky narrow eyebrows Appearance: fair skin with notable acne scarring and plenty of other wounds healed over time, very strong facial hair he keeps somewhat controlled, he's not one to think of himself as a handsome man, with a broken nose and scratchy voice; normally keeps the Arctic gear as shown Genetic Abilities: Unknown, latency may include self-healing, speed, and mental fortitude; he did encounter Alma on numerous occasions while she was prowling the landscape after her forced return, but seemed to suffer no psychic injuries. He does have a mind that can easily be spotted against the darkness of the Vortal landscape, but he himself cannot actively search for other minds. Others claim his mind is easy to talk to, but not to read. Icarus Processing: None, but should he be spliced or have any naturally-born children, Melissa will push hard for them to be treated. She is of the opinion that there's no point in wasting his genes |

Skills or Profession: Brought on to the PHEAR program by Armacham's Canadian branch, at the time of the Event he was fresh out of a 2-year stint in the military, but for whatever reason Armacham decided to grab him and train him up for their unique program. As such he has strong weaponry and tactical training, vehicle and pilot skills, and search and rescue operations. He's not much for talking, so his social skills are lacking, though he's able to read people by their body language and tone well enough to pick out targets versus enemies. As a dragon rider, he excells at patrols and some amount of combat, and seems quite good with taking orders as well as self-starting on Xenian projects. Pascale can and does speak both English and French fluently, and it's not surprising that he understands Vort to a strong degree.
Personality: Quiet, but not sullen. He's a slightly less grumpy version of Geoff, though it's clear that he's seen some shit, and doesn't really want to talk about it unless it's over a beer or the corpse of a Combine creature. He can speak, he just rarely does so, and thus his scratchy sounding voice grates a bit on people's ears. He would rather be given clear instructions, be allowed to scout on his own and report back to someone who can handle curtly delivered information, than be given vague or free-format tasks. Pascale prefers the company of his dragon, or even that of other dragons than his own, or a good tight squad of guys that understand how to get shit done.
Events or History: As above, he had graduated high school with moderately high grades, but felt that college would be the wrong direction for his life, and thus joined the military fresh out of school. Armacham brought him on board and gave some specific training for their goals, and even if others may have balked at the idea that 'there are psychics and magic out there', he hardly batted an eye. His stoicism helped for the most part in retrieving several minor talents in North America. However when the Events first occurred, he and his team were out basically in the middle of nowhere, and it took them until Armacham effectively disbanded the PHEAR units for them to find a way into any facility that the Pantheon controlled. Since they were known to have brought on students into the Paragon program (or at least in once case a late-teenager who became part of Origin) they were given a little more leeway than some rando from the street. Once the Combine had arrived, he and his team were relied upon for guarding and recon duties, recovering sites or goods, and shuffling refugees like anyone else. However once the place was settled... He did latch on to the idea that his middle-aged ass could still make a difference elsewhere. Mokiz and he make a great team on Xen, though he's a little leery of the company. |
