Name: Dorian Walker Gender: Male, he/him, straight Age/DOB: around 19, RY -10 Origin: Vault Earth, Commonwealth, caravan hub Family: the Walker family are known to be caravan leaders, guards, and traders Other: he's looking for the right girl, who knows where she might be Height: 5'9" Weight: ~160, muscular Hair: charcoal black-brown, thick and often unkempt but cleans up well Eyes: dark brown, small but perceptive Appearance: reddish-tan skin showing a strong hint that he is descended from native peoples; has nicely trimmed facial hair, but little other hair on his body; as a trader and caravan guard he has leather riding gear already, though it's seen better days and he would love to know what dragon riders put on! Smells of brahmin and leather. Has a clear and rich voice, used to barking out orders if needed while on the trail Genetic Abilities: none overtly known but he has a way with both pack animals and people, when he issues an order to either they will listen. This may be a form of empathy or even mental command, but he doesn't really know that he could exploit it beyond his current guarding and travel duties to keep the caravan safe SPECIAL |

Icarus Processing: none, he might benefit from it, probably not physically (though he is already strong and hardy, he might gain endurance from the physical side) it's likely that any mental or vortal power he has would increase. His children, should he have any, should definitely be tested for such powers
Skills or Profession: part of the Walker caravan family, he has always known how to navigate, move around dangerous territory with ease, and protect things in his care. Perceptive and keenly aware of anything out of place, even along a dirty trail or city ruins, he knows how to spot the signs of habitation or invaders. He can discern the angry calls of birds if something is moving through their nesting area, and hear the distinct sounds of reloading weapons along the road. He doesn't jump at any of these things, rather he will carefully inform Gadget or anyone nearby with a couple quick whistles they use as code. Only when confronted he'll start clearly and loudly speaking orders. He knows how to care for pack brahmin and other animals, guard dogs or other creatures similarly, he does prefer 'regular' dogs and not 'super mutant hounds', because the aggressive mutant hounds are just too much for him to easily command. With sign and body language at his disposal, he can communicate with a few waves of his fingers, nodding his head or even just slightly leaning on a wall to indicate any given mood or danger. He makes a very good caravan guard, and wonders how they're going to do this all with dragons, some day. He can ride animals but the only ones that are around for practice are ungainly and certainly don't fly.
Personality: careful but not paranoid, calm but not unfeeling. Dorian is confident and subtle, he takes things in stride - that's why the Walkers are named, right? He's hardly simple-minded, he likes sitting down with a good book - enjoying detective novels most. He may have modeled himself, his mannerisms and detail oriented perception, on such detectives.
Events or History: as a young child he was just as good at talking to the animals as the people in the trade hubs. You'd be hard pressed to find someone with as much experience around packs and caravans as him! When Gadget came along he was one of only a couple who wanted to 'hang out' with a Ghoul, but she's a great friend and a good caravan leader for sure. While he could probably lead one himself, he prefers the guard and navigation aspects more. He likes being up early and out late under the stars, but it does sometimes leave him a little distracted or groggy, only his reflexes to rely on, rather than his golden tongue... And when the Wakefield Vault started looking at their caravan team with a strange eye toward suiting them up with ... dragons? Of course he was on board! The few that he's met have all been amazing. They seem to like him too, as much as any given pack creature or guard dog! He would never treat one of these like a pack brahmin though, oh no. They talk with him and with each other, and their riders, and while he's not telepathic he knows they're doing it frequently just by the looks on their riders faces. So off to a place with interesting dr...aks? Not 'dragons' they're known as Draks there on Icarus, and to Acicade Castle he goes. ** (some from the hatching) He had gotten to know a few of the locals, and their Draks, in the short time he spent waiting for the little ones to be mature enough to come out. Their mother was intent on protecting them from any untoward eyes, but then everyone knew they'd hatched because Hueflox shooed all eyes away from her nest. "That's a sure sign," one of the locals asserted. Dorian was suddenly excited, almost giddy. But he maintained himself, he wouldn't squeal or giggle, would he? Apparently the draks would pair only to the 'right' person, maybe never - so Dorian and the other three were hopeful that no one would be left alone. He'd helped a bit with preparing the food for the draks to eat while others worked on the drinks and celebration dinner for their humans. But finally ... the moment came. The clutch mother led four adorably small and wobbly draklings into the main pairing cavern. There was a lovely grey colored one - a rain apparently - and she went to a pirate, now there was someone Dorian wanted to hear more stories from. A pale brown one simply spoke his name and sided up next to a warrior. Too intimidating for Dorian, that's for sure. And a 'day' drak rushed over in an excited way to the woman waiting nearby. Last to call out his name was the earth drakling: "Uivoxll." He did not hurry since there really was no need. He'd known Dorian Walker would be his. He was good at gambling, though he would later call it 'statistics' and was confident and stubborn. "I will help you guard." he told the vaulter human, "I'll watch your back." Dorian felt the little ping, the warmth of a true pair in his mind and heart. "I will welcome that help, Uivoxll," he said, not giggling, but so happy he could burst. ** They remained at Acicade long enough to learn the basics of handling - this was no pack animal, and with wings that would eventually be strong enough to lift Dorian and his gear to fly around... that took practice indeed. Lahgoz was a good instructor, even if his Fire drak Meisph came on very, very strong at first. But those who learned from him, like Dorian, knew it was a show of force to weed out anyone that wasn't a good match for their work. "As a guard you surely already know how to keep a look out for unusual things," Lahgoz said, and they trained up some other methods of recognizing movement - this time from the air. It was an angle that Dorian had not really considered, but was glad he had someone to help him learn about. He did have to explain the area he'd be going home to was less forest and tall trees, and more ... 'stone' buildings and ruins, sometimes miles and miles of them, even though trees and bushes definitely grew rampant in some places. But the presence of a large creature moving among those trees would disturb the canopy, create a little fright for animals - they would scamper or fly out. The overhead view of that was something Dorian finally got to appreciate from the back of his own beloved drak. "Uivoxll," Dorian said, as they Portaled home, concentrating the effort on how to reach his preferred haunt without actually slamming into anyone that might also be there. "We've got some work ahead, you'll need to know the lay of the land here now." The earth Drak nodded enthusiastically, "it isss asss you ssay," he looked around at the weird buildings, the once-maintained paved roads, and the rugged shipwrecks dotting the coasts of all the lakes and ocean nearby, "many placesss to hide here. Not if you know how to sssee them."
