Selene Alcott is a brilliant young scientist, selected out of thousands of entries to a privately sponsored fair. While her original intended field was astronomy, Selene rapidly soaked up information about gravity, theories of particles, quantum theory, and many other fields that might give her more of an understanding of the celestial bodies she loved. It was no accident that gave her powers, she wanted to apply what she'd learned and see if she could help fend off otherworldly invaders such as Rikti. Moondive got her heroic start on the west coast, but when Paragon was the site of full invasion, she moved east and joined SACCADE, as one of their more obviously-heroic members.
Science is her main focus in any location, but she truly does want to help as many people as she can, to live their best life. Though her powers come from experimentation, she would never ask anyone else to become a gunea pig... without the right forms.
She has gravity-altering abilities, as well as what she calls 'the chill of space', freezing enemies. As seen in the chart above, she has powers over flight, molecular alteration with nanotechnology allowing her to form 'weapons' out of ice, and protect herself and allies with medical tools.
Selene is very good at research and development, and is superbly adept at tweaking existing technology. She can examine virtually any piece of equipment and understand what it does, particularly those involving theoretical physics and nanotechnology. Also she is very good with people, loves to dance, and is an instructor at Carramba encouraging kids to participate in science.
She's much more apt to put an enemy in the Zig or local jail than in the hospital, and really doesn't like the brute force methods that Rita sometimes employs. She serves as a bit of a conscience to SACCADE, 'openly heroic' in that case meaning that she will fill out the forms and make sure that everyone's on the level when the day is done - not all 'by the books' but definitely not willing to risk losing her status as a Hero on either campus or city.
She has a long standing relation with the local West Coast heroic network, and as such she was very interested in helping Lane out with Mentoring these kids. Currently she teaches Martial Arts for the Fashion Conscious period 8, but also will be adding more science classes as their facilities are being expanded at Carramba.
Selene is adequately athletic, and enjoys running around the City as much as getting down on the dance floor of the Vent when she's done with heroics
She can withstand an everyday workout, but likes to conserve her strength if she's going out to round up bad guys; thankfully her powers give her time to breathe
Selene is quite good with her fingers and eyes, able to put together equipement and use tools, type quickly, and can even 'feel' with some of her nanotech
Able to run in high heels, dance backwards, and fly around falling debris with ease
She is that smart. She and Leu designed Moonrose, the Danger Room android, which reflects both of their skill sets very well
She has two Doctorates, and you cannot pull her out of a lab unless there's pizza and hot wings
A heroic face among the shadows of SACCADE, she often performs PR for them
One might say she is drop dead gorgeous, but she won't let people die on her watch
Though always stunning, she does a lot more support and is responsive to leadership, rather than a leader overtly herself
As Moondive, she is bold as brass and willing to jump in with both stiletto heels; she's also one to stand up for nerds and the masses
Since most of her abilities are powered by nanites, she must pace herself, carries high-calorie snacks, and remembers to hydrate
As a hero, she's quite the shining example, and as a scientist she's equally adept

Selene is hopeful for the future, and wants to make sure that everyone gets there healthy and sane. But she will not force anyone to do things they aren't committed to! She's not above swiping a piece or two of technology if it gets left sitting around after a battle, but only when she knows it's going to be used for the better good of all. Sometimes Selene gets a bit too involved in her work, but equally swept away with a crowd. She does have her own idea of what is 'good' for any situation, and wants to help regardless.
