Name: Oelkje Bos

Gender: Female, she/her, gay

Age/DOB: 24/November 2

Origin: Twoarth, Finland

Family: Wife Okalani, parents estranged, has one half brother 6 years younger attending Carramba

Other: she is intending to figure out how those genetic engineers might be hired...

Height: 6'0"

Weight: slender but muscular, even build, but very long legs, somewhat flat chested but obviously feminine and can pull off quite the belly dance

Hair: shock white, not dyed - this is natural, kept cut short and stylishly shaggy, is fluffy and straight

Eyes: brown, quite dark compared to the rest of her, large and almond shaped with heavy lids, under elegant pale blonde brows

Appearance: remarkably pale skin, not albino as she does not burn in the sun; she prefers bright red lipstick and dark clothing that shows off how perfect her skin is; she is quite tall so she is imposing and usually wears heels as well (bringing her to around 6'3"), she has a smooth and slightly deep voice. Doll created years ago on DressUpChallenge.

Abilities/Skills: an affinity toward electricity and power - not in any magical or Vortal way, but theory, physics, chemistry, and code. Oelkje was the top of her classes in science and engineering, and has the 'fallback' professional level electrician training that should anything ever fail the pair, she can not only repair it, but could make quite a bit of money doing so. She designed the new interiors and renovated the warehouses they now work out of.

Personality: Eager to see what she can get away with, always looking for an 'in' but also never ignoring a way out again. She feels slightly bitter about how she's had to fight for her rights to love who she wants and establish herself, but is just shy of arrogant now that she has succeeded. She definitely does have a mean streak, but she would do anything for Okalani, and for their causes.

Name: Okalani Bouvanaat

Gender: Female, she/her, gay

Age/DOB: 25/February 28

Origin: Twoarth, Laos

Family: Wife Oelkje, parents both deceased, has two older sisters and one younger brother who have not left Laos, she is attempting to acquire custody of them from the state

Other: wants to have children, but only if they can be their own

Height: 5'2"

Weight: small and curvy but not flabby in any way, for a woman of her height she cuts an impressive swath through a room

Hair: graphite black, though it looks like it could go grey easily it will likely remain this color for the rest of her life, heavy, satin texture, comes to her low back when it is not done up in fashionable buns

Eyes: brown, golden in comparison - in fact the same shade as her wife's... large (with no epicanthal fold as typical for Asians, she is likely at least a quarter Hindi), under manicured dark brows

Appearance: red-brown skin with the same choice of red lipstick on her own heart-shaped lips; she has a broad nose and high cheeks, and is considered the more feminine looking of the pair; wears pale or white clothing and doesn't mind people realizing she's tiny - she's far scarier when they notice... Doll created on Doll Divine/Meiker's Ao Dai maker

Abilities/Skills: The 'people skills' of the pair, subtle and 'iron fist in a velvet glove' type, though she would never abuse this sway. Communication technology, product branding and graphic arts, she does the advertising and paperwork for the most part, and is very good at legal wrangling, though not law-school level.

Personality: though mostly quiet she is hardly demure, she waits to speak but when she does you need to listen. Picking just the right words at the right time into the right ears, she is remarkably adept with public speaking and does much of the front-facing deals for the charity events they hold.

These two know what to do, to turn heads. And that is: show up.

Well, technically no. When the phrase "you know somebody that knows somebody"? They are 'somebody'. They worked their way through a system designed to hold them back, and made it to the top, never forgetting where they came from. That was on two hemispheres of the skin-side of Twoarth, Oelkje from Finland, and Okalani from Laos. They met as students at Carramba High, and hardly ever parted.

They know how to turn heads, sure. They can just walk into a club or a mall or a board room and turn all the heads in the place. But keeping those heads turned? Keeping that attention? That requires much more than just looking amazing and being women together. That's not too difficult for them either, given that between the two of them they speak seven languages, host a dozen charity events a year, and have built a powerful import-export business out of some once neglected warehouses and a beat-up dock at the edge of Crescent City. They are expanding into Talon City a little north, and Ensenada in the Peninsula of SoCal, training and hiring locals in need.

While they were growing up in their respective countries, life was more difficult - almost deadly in fact. But the moment they were able to emigrate to the States, a burden was lifted. That's not saying their lives are charmed, they still meet with some amount of push-back for a variety of stupid reasons. They're both women - and they're both 'lipstick lesbians', like to look pretty, love to impress with their femininty, no you cannot have it. They are 'mixed'. They do 'manly' professions. They help poor people and minorities. Well of course they do. They were in difficult spots, they want to pay it forward - a few organizations here and there got them both on their feet, it's the least they could do.

Their command of English came only after they were raised with Finnish and Lao, and before they reached for Sinhalese, Yiddish, Kurdish and Thai. They firmly believe that Shriekback wrote lyrics as a checklist, albeit with a little less of the sinister Reptilian emphasis (unless you count that one gharial mob boss they ran into on a Fur-side business trip)... However they are most certainly healthy animals. They also complement each other like a knife and whetstone: throwing ideas back and forth until one of them develops into a full fledged project, bantering in boardroom meetings until their potential investors are putty in their capable, manicured hands. While they could easily turn mean or angry toward those who have harmed them or seek to interrupt their lives, they had a sit-down chat and decided as a pair that they didn't need to focus on the negativity, and instead move forward, always. Leave the past in the past.

Except for the siblings left in Laos, but they'll get to that. They must. Toivo, Oelkji's brother, is doing fine in classes in Carramba, even if their parents can't agree on whether to divorce or come to the States themselves. But Okalani's brother Keoki, and sisters Malu and Loe, are still stuck in the legal morass of Laos. Even if much of Twoarth's political atmosphere is reasonably open and safe, some places in the world are still very much insular and xenophobic to a degree, and Okalani's family has years of political red tape to get through before they will be able to move out of their country. They know that this is a daunting, uphill task. But they know too that eventually, their families will be able to reunite, and in doing so will be helping possibly innumerable others do the same in the future.

Because the pair are absolutely willing to leverage their looks and their exotic backgrounds to gain favor with local politicians, systems, services, and investors, they boast a very wide variety of connections. From Alabaster's business legal department, to whale watching ferry boats in the Gulf of California, advertising and modeling agencies up in Talon City, to the Administrative Torus itself in Carramba High, Oelkje and Okalani manage a very large and complex network of disparate groups. Those groups eagerly participate in the charity events they hold, obviously seeing them as an opportunity to advertise but also to spread their own very real good will. Neither of these women would associate themselves with racists, retros, or bigots of any kind - and they do extensive research before shaking hands on any deal with companies.

So when the dragons at both Alabaster and Carramba started doing sweeps for specific people, for 'some thing they would love to do'... This pair were at the top of the list. It was actually Engell's Tehndarinth - the other Engel, the one from Alskyr, not the local man - who contacted Twoarth's about this event of theirs. The dragon was looking for good candidates for a long lost nest of his own eggs. Things snowballed from there, into what became known as the Checkerboard Ball.

The women had to set aside some time to work up the logistics. They knew that dragons were 'a thing', of course, who didn't? They're flying overhead right now! But they'd both concentrated their schooling and efforts into more localized work before now. But maybe... Maybe with a dragon or two on their side? They would help immensely, transporting or doing public relations? Rescue work or diplomatic? Anything might be possible.

Plus, the Den, the Stage, and the Labs all seemed to agree that this pair were needed on-site to help organize and even do some announcement work back on their homeworld of Twoarth once they'd been introduced. Yes, they were introduced to dimensions. Little slices of dimensions, anyway! So expect to see big things come of this. Even if they don't personally impress or bond, they know that dragons will want to come home with them. Be part of this family, do good in the world, whichever world that turns out to be.
