Name: Brandy Racön
Gender: Female, she/her, generously pan
Age/DOB: around 26, unknown DOB
Origin: Anerth, moved directly to Twoarth
Family: unknown
Other: Is flirtatious but won't really wind up with anyone unless she's absolutely ready to settle down
Height: 5'3" at most, 5'6" with her hair up
Weight: 110? With a furry tail it's hard to tell how much that might add to her small size; she is curvy and knows how to use that to her advantage
Hair: black, natural afro style often pulled back in a large puff, or done with braids
Eyes: orange-brown, with dark sclera, highly expressive and look lined due to markings; under pleasant brows visible over that marking
Appearance: reddish brown with deeper brown-black markings, Brandy is a raccoon morph complete with the face 'mask' and very nimble fingers; her skin is slightly velvety but also has furry trim, her tail is bushy but is fur not hair like on her head; she has 3-fingered + thumb hands, a feature found among many from her specific Earth (whereas many from Twoarth have 4+thumb); her ears are mobile and usually only visible when her hair is up; she does have a slightly wet nose, and sharp little teeth, and is very much an omnivore; she has claws on her fingers and toes, and plantigrade feet (flat, not toe-walking); her voice is smooth and she has a larger vocabulary than you'd expect out of a bartender; though on her home of Anerth she wasn't expected to wear clothing, she definitely prefers dolling herself up on Twoarth and for the ball is here in a stunning shiny silver miniskirt, with fur trim in dark grey and black, and high heeled sandals as shown
Abilities/Skills: Brandy is a mixologist, a bartender with flair, and is very well suited to listening to the many discussions going on around her, having a psychology and sociology degree helps there... However she is also quite gifted with empathy, as in a strong power of it rather than merely a learned behavior, and seems to be able to see directly into a person's soul if she's one on one with them at the bar; she also loves dancing though hardly has the time in her day job; she has traveled extensively and knows numerous dialects of Fur-sided speech, even if they're not her native languages, they came very easy to her; she instructs Practical Potion Making, Mixology, and Fur-Side Languages at Carramba High School; she worked at an airline briefly, and enjoyed traveling, which is where she picked up so many language perks, however she still does serve drinks at the local C4 nightclub on weekends and during busy times when they need help
Personality: Curious, innovative, inventive, and diligent; she is sensible and level headed, eerily calm in the face of dangers or trouble, all of that making her very good with customers and students alike; She can recognize when a drink should be swapped out to a non-alcoholic version, and make them so they're never going to tell the difference, her work with folks who need to be hooked up with real help has saved numerous families and friendships as well as a good number of lives; giving and generous but not to a fault, she knows how to get someone to want to make their own effort, this isn't part of her empathic power, she can only detect, not exert commands |

Since she went to the Checkerboard Ball as the main ballroom's wet bar mixologist, Brandy has come back with some interesting stories as well as interesting dragon partners. Of course she won't share these memories with just anyone, but Brandy definitely will tuck them away in memoires or even use them as reference for anyone else in their position. After all, in the modern world of Twoarth, dragons are becoming increasingly common (though still very rare compared to the general population!) so maybe there is something to be learned from her observation of these others.
(from Bug's page, Jaseu meets Grendel Sheva)
He hoped that the night was going to go smoothly, and it seemed like it might be all but perfect. The people organizing it were certainly running a tight ship, not invasively so but definitely Jaseu felt eyes on them from the start. But it wasn't an aggressive glare - no, it was equally distributed across the many, many party goers and dragons. Who were also party goers, he reminded himself, as several large dragons strolled past into a big draconic version of the same ballroom that the humanoids were in.
There were shapeshifters and ferals, though they called themselves 'kin' or 'morphs'. One of them ran the wet bar by the ballroom floor, a raccoon woman with a puffy hair style and an obviously keen eye for detail. "See anything interesting tonight?" She asked, and it wasn't in the words, but the way she said them, the way she had her head tilted, and was that the faintest of grins with a hint of a fang poking out? She knew he was blind, she knew that he only saw thanks to his monocle. It wasn't just him being a touch paranoid: she wasn't lying and wasn't being mysterious, but she also hadn't read his mind that he could tell.
"A little color here and there," was his reply. She mixed an incredibly good drink that he wasn't sure of its name - sharp, tart, but with a warm bloom at the end. He took the glass and mingled once more, looking around at all the people's shadows. Wait, he cracked a bit of a grin, tonight, he'd been made aware, everyone was in shades of grey and black and white... how he always saw them.
(from Trix's page, Alan meets Plaath and Hidth)
Alan was pretty certain he'd lost his mind.
It did not help one bit that the woman tending bar was a raccoon, Alan wondered about his sanity; but she did reach over the bar to steady Alan's shoulder, and handed him an iced water. "Looks like you'll be needing this, clear head and all," she said.
"My head is anything but clear," Alan muttered.
(from Retta's page, Lucius meets his dragons)
It felt fairly strange to be standing at a bar picking up a dark beer with a pale head - and the bartender was apparently a raccoon woman. Now, she wasn't unattractive, in fact she was... markedly pretty. But if she seemed ill at ease with any of the humans or elves or whatever else was here, she didn't show it in any way. She had a brilliant smile with little pointy teeth, an afro which almost covered her ears, velvety brown skin with black and grey accents, and that distinct mask marking on her face; he wasn't sure whether the fur trim over her snug shiny grey dress was her own or part of the outfit. Lucius was apt to stare, but it appeared she was completely comfortable with that - or she was so used to it that it didn't seem to matter. She pushed the Guinness at him with a napkin under it and a wink. "Have some fun," she suggested.
It was less than an hour later when she took a break, found him, and dragged him to the dance floor. She had a fuller tail than any 'real' raccoon but then she was either half-human or ... something else. Not a shifter, not like him. And yet, this was the most fun he'd had in years. Brandy tugged on his elbow while they were in mid-swing, "Something is happening," she said, and glanced to the edge of the room.
Others paused in their dance too, because a pair of stunning dragons were leading their offspring out from their nook and through the big room. They were on the tall side, but long too, with tails that just kept going, and were covered in a downy fluff even as hatchlings. Most of the little ones bumbled about, occasionally staggering or pausing to gain their footing again. Some of them sniffed at a dancer, moved around, looked at those at the tables beyond, or outright stood up and gave chittering discussions to their new friend. They sure were shiny, and ran the whole gamut between rich black and sparkly white.
One of them nudged Brandy, who laughed, "well, I suppose I can give him up for a dance or two." She'd gone back to her station at the wide bar before he could even speak. But then there was something else to consider, and that was the black furred dragon who had interrupted.
"Mine," she said, "you, we wait now." Perhaps she spoke this way because - well, she was just hatched, wasn't she? She'd certainly become more adept at it with time.
(from Ty's page, Yu's impression)
Do you see yourself, or your stage presence in me? I am Faxrineth. The dragonet bespoke, and I see someone worth knowing, on or off a stage. I saw you before I even stepped into this ballroom.
"Did you?" Yu asked, and pushed himself off the barstool he'd been resting on. The barkeep, a ... raccoon lady? pushed his ice water toward him and he took it, wouldn't do to go without proper hydration. "I didn't know we had dragon fans."
Well you have some now , the dragonet took an obvious glance at another of his team, who ... had definitely found a dragon friend! While they were performing, it wasn't all that obvious, but it wasn't even just Oto, it was... well a bunch of them! But now, it looked like Yu was going to get to show off to the rest, his own new friend.
(from Dragonflight's page, Ivory meets Frevanath)
Oddly she felt compelled to give a little ping as a query. It felt right, like something you'd do if a dragon had latched on to your mind, right?
There was a faint giggle, which rapidly changed back to a more collected It is, a good observation.
Sure enough, Ivory was able to then determine, not by the windows, not on that side of the room at all. Behind the buffet tables? There was that bar with the raccoon woman tending it, and oddly enough she had a broad grin as Ivory passed by.
She almost missed the biggest sign of all, the fact that the black and white 'tapestry' behind the counter ... was moving. Ivory nodded to get permisison from the raccoon to head behind her bar. And as she did so, that tapestry fluttered downwards with a relieved sigh. My wings are tired now, I'm sorry.
"... Why are you sorry? You did a great job of blending in, and you challenged me to ... well, to use senses I didn't even know I had."

Her own time behind the bar was quite fun, if rather exhausting. She gave herself breaks, and more than that: so did the Lanes. Any given one of them - and she could tell the ones that looked very similar apart somehow - would offer her a door to a spot they had created to offer the staff here rest. It was generally occupied by half a dozen local Rapture folk or Zekiran attendants, people who had been brought on to serve the many hundreds of needs found across the entire Ball. A very nice lounge indeed, its own whole side-dimension, really. Made of their collected Vortal energies, and spruced up by more artistic friends and relatives.
Somehow Brandy could tell the difference there too, maybe it was just a slightly more yellowish shade of teal green, or a darker denim blue, or ... something. 'It' being 'the aura found everywhere'. It's possible that she doesn't even realize that she has this Vortal sight, but it's clear that she uses it daily to make sure people are tended properly.
So it was nice to have someone tending to her needs now and again! She'd spotted a few of the CHS alum and instructors here, oh - including the tall and talented Xavier Zoeller over at the massage booth, he'd come to check up on everyone, and offered her a foot massage.
"You've been standing and dancing, I saw you," he winked, "I'm glad you're taking a break."
"Thanks," she replied, sipping at ice water and slightly rolling her eyes when he worked out a specific little knot under her arch. "I've had this weird feeling all night though, and it's not that I've been sampling the wares."
Someone else grunted a chuckle, but wouldn't elaborate. Finally it was time to head back, for her and the others, they'd spent several hours just napping or being pampered, cycling through those duties and rest would make it feel like they'd been at this party for a week or so - and some of them had. Brandy had, certainly, since she needed to help set up the whole bar arrangement and make sure that it would be fully functional for so many guests and staff alike. When she'd been introduced to the little 'Cocktail dragons' that those Alabaster people brought along, she was positively delighted that there would be adept helpers who wouldn't spill a drop even when they were enthusiastically putting fruit rinds and olive sticks into drinks. |
