BACK

13, Z'ren, 3rd Base. A Saurian from a warm, swampy world. He enjoys the comforts of home: a squishy wet chair, putting his feat up on a lava-stone heatrock, and basking on the muddy flats beside his home. However, he also enjoys slamming a ball out of a stadium, and is perfectly capable of it too. Z'ren is a carnivore. Sometimes opposing players learn this, and have an innate fear of him. Some players don't make it past 3rd.

15, Tamoth, 2nd Base. A Sylvan whose charming smile and shy exterior makes for a great team representitive. He has a speaking voice clear and calm, and keeps the team together in times of stress. Seevi and he are usually an item, though they've often broken it off briefly. Their relationship comes second to his team, but nothing beats seeing him hit a home run and gleefully romping around the bases.

17, Seevi, Pitcher. Sylvan and gleaming like her partner Tamoth, Seevi enjoys taunting the men on the batting square just because she can. A dangerous fawn indeed, for her pitching has been known to reach hardball-speeds. Not that she tries to hit any player. Oh no. Of course not. She keeps Sh'urrb away from Tamoth, while also trying to keep Enni and Anni away from HER.

Tamoth, Seevi and Z'ren standing at the Ring of Fire Summer of Flames Frenzy sands.

It was a bit less wait than anyone imagined, once everyone got together on the sands. Tamoth and Seevi tended to cling to one another, but not in a shy way - Tamoth didn't want to lose her to one of the handsome types at the Ring of Fire, and there were tons of strange alien males that stared at her. Of course, there were tons of alien females who did the same favor to Tamoth, and Seevi was fierce in ways. She kept them at bay long enough to learn of the hatching.

Early in the morning, the candidates were drawn to the sands. Grumbling or bouncing or just staggering in with their cups of coffee - Azonese coffe, mind, not the fake stuff from Dawnlight, it was almost as rich as Chagga beans, but it packed a whollop.

A number of adult dragons had to leave the place - there was some emergency on another world, and the trio realized with a gut-wrenching worry that their friends had been on the world that caused this problem. Something like that. They were at Cy, and something from Cy caused whatever it was emergency. It seemed to have mobilized many people, and made things a bit tense around the sands.

But that was fine, there were eggs ready to hatch and some that weren't - as long as there were people around the eggs would find their right bond, as the Gems had been explained. Tamoth wondered absently if it was the presence of the right person that made the hatchling want to come out? Or if it was the presence of the hatchling that made the bonder want to stand. Could be anything.

Could just have been a bunch of drunken tailgate party talk, but then again, here they were, and there was a distinct tingling in Seevie's mind as well as the others. When the first egg broke it was with a loud pop - and a horned scaled black and silver came out to bond to the cheetah girl from another planet. She was very pretty - but something distracted Seevi from watching their happy bond.

It was a dragonet from Dairruinth's clutch, another black colored one, but this one had silver and gold and ... fur. Shannon had laid this egg, whose contents now bounded across the sands toward Seevi. She sat down abruptly and said, "I should hope that you don't expect me to do everything you say and not have a mind of my own," it was a growl, but a worried one.

Seevi tilted her head and put her hands on her hips. "If you did I'd have to teach you to have an opinion of your own!"

"Good!" The dragonet then turned toward her mother on the sands who still guarded other eggs. "What is my name?" She asked - and the dragon-sorceress answered her, "Shurai Aridan," which clearly showed her heritage. Seevi would remember that - she bonded to a dragon who had some power.

"Okay, so now I have a name. It's time to eat." Shurai said with more confidence. Seevi knew that this would be some fun, now. There was no way she'd have expected this...

A bronze then bonded, and then a white-gold siamese marked came from his shell, while another copper toppled out of his own. That one bonded first, while the white gold remained waiting. Then...

The blue-silver colored Ryuuhikari chirped with happiness, one of her eggs had broken and revealed a beautiful white-silver furred dragonet with blue-green wing sails, and the starts of antler-shaped horns on his head. He was lovely, he was elegant, and he was walking toward Tamoth.

Tamoth, I think that you and I are probably quite alike... My mother says that my name is Shika Hikaru, of the Hikaru line of Fantasa. Do you accept me as your soulmate and companion?

With a bit of awe, but a lot of the poise that his own family line was well known for, the young stag knelt and rubbed his hands on the hatchling's beautiful face. "I do, Shika," he said quietly. Reverently, they left the sands but not before some other eggs began to hatch.

A trio of eggs burst open, and one half-Legend male swung himself across the sands to look at the selection of candidates. Of course, he wasn't quite as graceful as Shika Hikari or Shurai Aridan, and so he did a faceplant into one of the dunes nearest the candidates.

While some folks laughed - not everyone wanted to incur this big hatchling's wrath should it turn on them - Z'ren came forward and replanted the brownblack onto his hind legs where he stood more steadily. The dragonet grinned widely.

Thanks bro - Name's Camintor by the way.

"Greetings, Camintor. If you don't mind, when we visit my home? You may be called Z'cam perhaps. Our family will welcome you."

Great! Food! The brown swung his head again and began his loping gate across the room toward the others.

Here at the Ring of Fire, the hatchling pairs were given a bit of time to stretch their legs, strengthen their wings, and learn to do typical dragonny things. There was still a bit of tenseness in the air, the whole time. No one knew when the other dragons would get back from the Warren - that was where the fighting would be. Fortunately, though, these three would remain outside of that fighting. They had other things on their minds.

Seevi particularly had a couple little flitters on her mind. For some reason, when Shurai had wandered through the halls, she'd come back with something in her little hands. Two eggs.

"Aw, great, more mouths to feed!" Seevi said, with a grin and a shrug. "Spark and Seance you are..."

This is Spark! She's always into everything. This is Seance, he's more quiet, but he always watches out for his mistress.

Name: Shurai Aridan
Gender: Female
Bond: Seevi
Color: Black-gold-silver
Size: 41'
Strength: 7
Magic: 8

The daughter of a cynical dragon sorceress who once thought she was a normal human save for some...odd...abilities and a big black dragon who taught himself how to use magic, shift, and studied the properties of time, space, and magic after he was abandoned by his original bond. Shurai is a shifter and is immensely intelligent. However, she has her mother's bad attitude and cynism. She won't take 'crap' from anyone and might get aggressive should someone get in her face. With almost balanced abilities on the high-end of the spectrum you might want to take that with a grain of salt. Shurai's human shift once she learns the skill will be a perfect shift!

Name: Shika Hikaru ('Shika'--Japanese for 'deer')
Gender: Male
Bond: Tamoth
Color: Silver/white blue-green
Size: 47'
Strength: 7
Magic: 10

Who else could this cute male shifter with golden antlers and big blue doe-eyes have bonded to other than Tamoth? He's very quiet, thoughtful, and charming. However, unlike his bond it's nearly impossible to make him mad. Even if you hit him with a softball right between the eyes. A member of the prestigious Hikaru bloodline, this dragon shifter is a positive prince. When he's an adult he'll love to shapeshift and join his soulmate, Tamoth, in all his endeavours. Shika's human form will retain the antlers and blue-green wings.

Name: Camintor
Gender: Male
Bond: Z'ren
Color: Black-brown-gold
Size: 57'
Strength: 10
Magic: 2

A big, dinosaurian dragon for a big, saurian bond. Despite being half Legend dragon, Cam' has little to no power in magic. However, he is exceptionally strong and will love to tote things around whether it be softball equipment, softball players...or maybe a monster truck. He's hardworking and honest, if a bit intimidating, and will certainly add some interesting flavor to the Alabaster Gems' collection of draconians.
