Captain Davies | Captain Ward | Officer Yakamura | Officer Nhamante |
Officer Yuri Yakamura is a diligent worker, spending all 4 of her years in her job here at 108. She is 27 years old and fits right in with the guys of R/H. Yuri is the resident toxicity expert, often sent ahead to determine what sorts of equipment will be needed on a run. She loves the tools of the trade and is usually found fiddling with one of the vehicles to tune it up. As a sturdy, compact woman of only 5'3", she still cuts a very impressive swath through any event. She is lightly tan, with perfectly straight and perfectly cut shoulder length black hair, and narrow pale amber yellow eyes. She's been known to arrive at parties dressed in full Kimono dress, with her hair bundled and pinned up, little shoes and everything. Her Japanese heritage means a lot to her, but it is not something that she commonly opens up about. Her family life is a mystery to the rest of the Squad, it does seem that she has a pair of siblings, both parents, and some kind of animal at her family home, but she lives apart from them, preferring to reside near the station and keeping a close eye on her trucks. When she speaks it is often in sarcastic diatribes, but she's often just plain silent and mysterious. |

Yuri found herself at the Warren, which was a very cool place indeed. Especially to look out from. She was thankful that they'd given everyone time to pack - she brought enough clothing to look good, as well as to work in. And was there work. She volunteered for whatever repair and tech job there was, but also kept hanging out around the dragons. They were different from some others, as their wings were part of their forelimbs here. But they were stunning, beautiful things. Lovely creatures, and she certainly wanted to be part of the flight squad on the back of one of them. She would shortly get her chance. The hatching was announced, but not nearly in time to be early to it. Yuri grumbled that the dragons should know better, everyone could get there early, if given a chance, right? There were already two dragons sleepily looking out at the people from their newly broken shells. They were both quite pretty, but Yuri felt nothing special about either of them. A blue and a green, who didn't attract Yuri's attention quite as much as the pair of troublemaking candidates who hung out at the Warren nearby. All her warning signals would go off when she looked at them. Another egg broke, and revealed a beautiful white hatchling. There were other eggs breaking now, and Yuri watched with great interest as they did. What would come of this? The blue bonded to ... a vampire. She was sure of it, he had fangs. Never saw him in the daylight hours. Well, she should be used to that, Thom and James were like that too... A batch of the other dragonets paired off with people as they wanted to. But there was a problem that the white and one of the reds appeared to have with one another. They were growling, and then one of them paired off with the same vampire as before! Yuri was amazed, she'd remembered reading something about double bonding at this location, but she didn't think she'd see it! Another couple eggs opened, and this time Yuri felt a strange tingling. The other dragons paired off, and left the green alone with Yuri there on the sands. It was funny because Yakamura decided that the green was rather catlike in her walk - her tail was high, flopped over at the very end, and swung around casually betraying her inner feelings. When the dragon came right up close to Yuri, she gave off a beaming grin at the little hatchling. Sure enough there was something more than just a green dragon choosing her typical bond: the horn nubs that would grow away from her eyes were not the normal golden color - they were silver, a far more rare condition indeed. "Plurimi," Yuri said, and the dragon gave a yip of approval. This bond was sealed. They left the sands and headed to the kitchens, hoping that there was going to be enough good bits of meat left after everyone else had gotten their share. Yuri sang gently to herself, something from a silly musical she liked. If she was caught by one of the guys doing that, they'd have her hide. Why would they not like you to sing? I like your singing. Plurimi commented, But I guess that they are supposed to be the experts at it, right? When do I get to meet these men? "Well, when you're ready. We can head back to the Healing Den, because that's where your den's going to be. And from there, you can come with me to the fire station." Yakamura was positive that the dragon would put up a fight - she was so headstrong in things, she could have demanded to come directly to the fire house. But that would be a difficult thing at best because after a year here, Yuri realized that she had no idea which 'universe' they'd be living in at all. Her orders were to go to the Den, they were to go to the den. At least there, she reasoned, the entrance to the fire station was obvious. And they only had to remember the numbers on the entrance, which she did, to get to the Den. Packing up, Yuri felt Plurimi's eyes watching her. "You could help," she said. Or I could watch. I like watching better. I will help when there are lives on the line. Right? "That's fine by me, Plurimi!" Yuri laughed. |
