Serpentine entered the mix of minds somehow, no one really knew when or why. She isn't stupid, nor even ignorant. But she is rather ... singleminded when it comes to what she wants to do in her body-time. That is to say, basking in the warm sun, chasing down small mammals to eat, and collecting snakes around her. Every reptile in any area they went to seemed to like her very much. It seemed that while she was in the body, no harm would come from them either. And as they began to collect dragons, of course they wondered if her power would affect them. Were they true reptiles? Were they more like her than other creatures? Well to find out, they eventually arranged a trip to the Abstract Destiny. This was not normally the type of place that Serpentine would like to hang out. Perhaps on the desert planet and school of Driolo below! Where it was bright and warm! Well, maybe later... But for now, they'd located a very unusual clutch of eggs that had been sired by not one but three males! So there would be very different types of hatchlings available, to see if any would pair up with this unusual inhabitant of the SomeBody. | ||||||||

Serpentine was actually happy to be in this odd place, though it was hardly what she'd expected when they told her dragons would hatch here. Probably the fact that she got to 'use' the body longer than she'd ever had before, that had a lot to do with it.
Apparently it was unusual for so many eggs to have been discovered, but Serpentine knew perfectly well that snakes, lizards and the like lay far more than they really needed to. But dragons were pretty big, weren't they? Well, from what she'd seen of them they could be big or small or anywhere in between. ***from hatching*** Though Sarah Vogel was the name of one young woman standing out in the moss, actual control of the SomeBody was today given over to Serpentine. The masked hatching that went over to her reached out and took her by the hand, placing a kiss upon the back of it as his snakeheads bobbed at her. But that wasn't all. For a series of odd not-really-cats not-really-...creatures... also hatched. To the apparent distress of a number of people, they began attaching themselves to people. One came happily trundling along and latched onto Serpentine's leg, gently making a noise which appeared to mean 'purring'. "I have two," Serpentine muttered to her other selves, gloating coming from her mind. It seemed to shock a couple of the inhabitants of Sarah's body, that this persona they'd picked up along the way could even be as complex as to gloat... The group of dragons that had to accompany SomeBody as they-she made their way through the world gathered around the new pair. They certainly were ... different. And a little distant, too. While the others had truly impressed or bonded, these two were there because they wanted to be, not because they needed to be with someone to survive. But there was a weird sense that these multi-headed creatures were more than they appeared, both of them. Grim at least could - and would - say in words what it was that was on his mind. But Tiaromiss would just sit and hiss, remaining near Grim whenever Serpentine wasn't in the body. "Now that's just disturbing," Grim muttered, when she first vanished and was replaced by the tall and seductive form of Scintilla. But abruptly, one day several months after their hatching, the newcomer of the bunch, Scarlett, jumped into the fray. The redhead looked at the xeno-cat, and the ... hydra... thing... and sat down with her hands limply between her knees. "I'll never find a dragon at this rate, everyone has one, two for you," she aimed at the verdant mind-color that was Serpentine. "But ... what about me? I mean, is it that everyone here is all ... mean and stuff? I'm a hero, but only when I can get control from one of you, am I that much of a wuss when I di...died? Or --" She was rudely interrupted by the brilliant mind of Scintilla, Or perhaps you're just a loser. But it was actually Serpentine that came to her defense. "Ssstop it, Sssscintilla," she said angrily aquiring the body. "None of ussss are what we onccce were." Grim's heads nodded and the xeno-creature's as well. "Well said, my dear, well said." Grim nudged toward Serpentine and bowed, knowing that he was able to be heard and to an extent seen by the others 'inside' his sponsor's mind. "Perhaps it is simply not your time. There will be something for you soon, Scarlett, do not despair." Serpentine grinned widely at her dragons, quite proud of them, she didn't even need to prompt them. They would have to find a place for Scarlett, otherwise Scintilla would be insufferable till the end...
