"Are you really interested in this of all things?" Jeff asked, glancing around the parking lot, and having to look up more than not because the 'vehicles' were all dragons. "They did a good job of convincing me," Janus replied. "It's not like we had much use for this particular property, I checked." The structure behind the line of dragons was indeed a little on the dilapidated side, needing both repairs and perhaps relocation. Or they'd just tear it all down and put up something better as a street facing office rather than a clunky metal warehouse - they didn't need to repair vehicles in it after all. "Ooh, tents and airy ceiling skylights!" Esstir proclaimed from the back, obviously she was used to simply listening in to everything her companions were saying. So they already had an idea ... well, okay, and Janus was fine with that too. He put his own connections to use, they started working up city planning agreements and checked up all the details. Shortly, within just a handful of weeks in fact, there was a newly built structure suitable for both humanoid and draconic use sitting on this formerly-disused warehouse lot. A nice tall structure almost entirely enclosing it, behind the lower one-story bungalow, where the dragons who would work here could relax and sort out their duties, open at the back but with two front-facing entries for smaller dragons or even just plain vehicles. There would be nothing 'plain' about this service company though. It did take at least as long as they'd been working on the structure and getting everything properly paper-trailed and fitted, to come up with the right name. But it was as a trio of dragons - all involved now because they wanted something fun to do and get looked at in the process - sitting on the top of the heavily reinforced walls of the building that gave Janus the big grin as he typed out to his dad, "Stretch Your Wings Limousine Service," and all Jeff sent back was a goofy smile emoji. ** Established in 2024 by the Alabaster suite of companies, the Stretch Your Wings Limousine service is unique in that they have 'vehicles' only in as much as 'carrying cars' can be qualified. Their vehicles are all alive! Dragons of many sizes and shapes - though usually in shades of black and white - have been hired to serve as transportation across the western coast from Baja to Talon City. With offices in Ensenada, San Diego/Tijuana, Crescent City, Talon City, and Wonder in the hills (for those rare occasions when a limo is needed in a rustic town), their specialty is "arrival in style" with a dragon either as a mount or as a carrier, gently moving people to events where you need to be seen arriving, in style. There is no mistaking this for a generic taxi system, nor even a fancy car limo company. While there definitely are 'road-based' dragon taxis, cart and 'horse-replacement' types, and even sidewalk scooter rentals that happen to also be small dragons, this is a service for people that want class all the way. That isn't saying that their pricing system is 'too much for a high school Prom'! They offer a vast array of payment ranges, and as many of Alabaster's services - when you can't pay that much you will still get the same gracious service as those who don't bat an eye at a four-figure night on the town. All dragons and their potential riders, caretakers, bonds, or groups, are vetted thoroughly before being trained for their specific routes or services. Generally speaking, dragons are considered the 'vital' portion of the pairing if there is a rider, and must agree to the terms and services they provide, and have absolute power to deny service to anyone for any reason. That said, most of the dragons and riders working any given division of this company have the professionalism and style to work with virtually anyone, and as long as laws are obeyed and no one gets insulted too heavily, will provide their service with a five-star rating. |
