Name: Jerrett (J'rett) Connalyn Standing At: Shigan Weyr |
||
Skills / Professional Training: Searched as an infant, as much by his father's dragon as anyone else's, he knows that there is power in his mind, and he uses it to make sure that dragons among the fighting wings are healthy. He has always been curious and confident, though not necessarily a leadership role type of man he'll certainly become important to any wing because of his skills. He knows dragon anatomy for whatever type of dragons have come by, and learns quickly thanks to his powers. He has learned how to set dragon bone breaks, work with internal ailments, as much as any in-flight injuries or from fights. All in all he is likely to become one of the Protectorate's leading dragon healers.
Personality: smart, clever, and quick witted, Jerrett is always seeming like he's a prankster, but he certainly isn't. He's just well aware of his surroundings and is a good actor, and an excellent friend. He protects his sister but gives her the room she requires, and she knows she can absolutely rely on him if she ever needs help.
History and Events: born early in the Protectorate's history on Paniya, Jerrett was always intrigued by the horses and dogs, flitters and of course the dragons. While their father is a rider, he and his sister Janet had only considered how different that was when they would go down to Dawnlight Hold or other places. He always sensed there was something 'wrong', particularly from their mother Jan, when visiting that place. But he was always at home up in the mountain where the Protectorate rested, that's for sure. All the dragons definitely welcomed them both, and their riders happily engaged them in conversation. Though he has had to train for the physical routine of dragon healing, he had never been shy about it. He can tell when a dragon has worn their harness too tightly, and never hesitates to nudge their rider to loosen it and put proper padding under their harness. Unwilling to budge on some things, some riders might think him to be a bit intrusive or stubborn - but in the long run every time Jerrett has insisted that a dragon be grounded it's for compelling reasons. Time went on, as he and Janet grew up there were fewer and fewer off-world assignments, though a good number of clutches apparently born in the mountain with Blackstone and Alabaster dragons spreading to the Nexus. His mother Jan had tried to explain some of that to her children, but since exploring the records rooms back 'before' on the Old World had led to ... well, their exile from Dawnlight, it was a bit of a sore spot for her. She let others do that lesson, and it was one of those others who finally looked at both kids and declared that they should stand 'somewhere right'. That 'somewhere' turned out to be on the Old World, which was unsurprising. But it was a weyr that no one had heard much about, Shigan Weyr. There were good looking dragons there, strong ones, fighters - they still fought Thread. What would this pair of kids do, on dragons? Surely not fight Thread, not on Alskyr anyway. But a pair of healers on dragons, now that was a thought - able to move to where the injured were? Count both of them in! |
