Grafitti Grafitti was given the task of helping out in the guard and hunting department, at Utopian. It wasn't hard work for her, she just loved using tools and weapons. If anything, when the call went up for the candidates to get back down to the sands, Graf wanted to continue playing with the swords. But, she saw the cute curly-haired Nameh speeding by - how could he do anything but speed, he was a Cheetah! And she followed him. Someone graciously threw her a white robe. She'd never been fond of wearing clothing, but perhaps this would be the time to start paying attention to them. Dragons were messy things to take care of, and she really didn't much want to be all dirty all the time! She was glad for it, too. The sands were warm, but they were also a mess by the time the hatching finished. Goop from inside the eggs, blood and shell guck... It was nasty. But there were dragons, such beautiful dragons!

Graf watched a beautiful if fragile looking lavender start the hatching. Then a stunning female black. A green and a copper hatched out, and Nameh deservedly bonded to the copper! She was still applauding, when the next eggs broke
open. The last of the clutch, it wasn't a big nest. Three eggs, one
starry, one silver, and the next a purple. The starry went to a half-dragon
female, which didn't disappoint Grafitti. She knew she wasn't cut out
for the responsibility of a big female. But... The silver dragonet sat and looked over the candidates from an area on the sands which was slightly raised. He didn't seem to want to approach anyone until he knew what his choices were. And in this case, he stood, and walked down toward Grafitti. His voice was happy, bemused, and calm. I'm Osservith. You seem to be very interesting, and I hope we'll see strange things on our adventures together. He was bonding her! Grafitti relished the voice, soothing and completing her. "I think we will, Oss, I am pretty sure we can't help but have fun." She took the hatchling along with her to the kitchens, where she met up with Nameh again. "So you're a rider now, too," he said, still grinning. His eyes drifted to the Silver, and Graf noticed a slight tick in his grin. "Yes, Nameh, he's a male." Grafitti said. "It's okay. I don't think that'll stop us..." *** Nameh had to go back to the Plateau, whatever that was. And Grafitti promised him that they'd visit. Some day. Maybe all four of the girls could go, really. He'd talked about how there weren't very many females at all there. Of course, it wasn't a positive thing that Graf and her sisters were actually fertile. Katherine had said something about it, but she couldn't quite remember whether she said they were, or they were not. It was a long time ago, now. Almost a year had passed on Danach as the dragons grew. They were sturdy, stunning creatures, and Graf really loved flying. Osservith swooped down over the landing area, and put down on his hind legs, then gently rested his fore down. A perfect landing, a perfect way to graduate from the Weyrling classes. "You've all done well," the trainer announced, "and now that you know everything, why don't you share your knowledge with your own people." He was being sarcastic, of course, but Osservith took him seriously. Yes! We will go and spread our great knowledge! Grafitti rolled her eyes, but grinned. She would probably take the others by surprise with her silver male... Not the least of which will be at the Plateau's Furry Festival! |
