Rules and Regulations of the Colony

If you would like to adopt a dragon from this site, please make sure to read the rules, and understand them. If there is something you don't understand, just ask about it. Make sure that you have followed all the rules, and that any requirement for an adoption is covered when you apply. If the rules aren't followed, I'll know. I will always send an email reply to every request - if I ask that you change something, please do it. Otherwise, without any confidence in your ability to follow rules, I will simply not award a dragon until you prove you can.

Important Note! :  INDYANA drew and holds the copyrights to these dragon images. You may NEVER - give away, trade on the market, adopt out from your site, or use these images in ANY other way than expressed below, ever. Kari and I have the only open Glenn agencies. Indy is the only person on Earth who can decide who sends out her images. Any other agencies claiming to give away these images may be stealing! Accept no substitutes!

1 - There must be a page for the dragon to reside upon. No page = no dragon. Absolutely no: Neopets pages, Yahoo or MSN groups pages, sites which a viewer must apply or register to see your page, pages which include forbidden items such as hate subjects, pornography, or racism. It's also nice to have a page that is devoted to ONLY this dragon. Glenn dragons are large (both in 'real life' and in 'pixel life') and deserve their own attention. No lists of pets will ever be acceptable as a page for a Glenn dragon. Your page may have a couple small pets and images on it that are appropriate to the dragon you'd like to adopt. Also, I prefer NOT to see a basic index.html page unless it's a subdirectory specific to that dragon's page. (So, not "www.yourserver.com/yoursitename/index.html" but it's okay to have "www.yourserver.com/yoursitename/dragonname/index.html" )

2 - On the page, there MUST be several things: A working link back to this site's index.html page! Not this frameset because that may change! Not to any specific pages like the rules or others, JUST the index. If there is no link to this site, I will simply ask that you put one on. It MUST work - no 'I don't know how to put an html link in' please. It must be there. Every page which displays a Glenn Dragon from this (or any other) site must have a working link back to the site where it came from. Period. A set of links pages *is not acceptable* for these dragons.

You may use the button found at the top of this page, or this banner if you wish. Minimum requirement is a working text link.

2a - If you use background sites and generators to create anything on your page, the background, buttons, html help or even a character image/blurb, they too must be linked to their point of origin. I know a lot of folks like to use the doll generators found all over - if you use one, please please please link it! These dragons are not Pernese (another form of adoptable dragon online). They are not in any way to be mistaken as such. They can have riders or whatever floats your boat but they're not 'firestone chewing Thread fighting' dragons.

3 - The page must have something on it. It does not have to have a huge number of flashy images or sounds - but a nice background image and clearly readable text about the location your dragon will reside. It must include a stat table, but you may put that up after you receive your dragon. The stat table must include: Name, Gender, Age, Color, Parents and Clutch #, Type and Powers if they have any. If they acquire a mate or have a mating flight, feel free to list their info too, but it's not required. (See Clutch Requests for more about mating!)

4 - You may only apply for one clutch at a time, for one dragon at a time. This is because all the clutches here will be quite small - no more than 6 or 7. If your application is good, but comes in after the time I've already selected the amount for the eggs in the clutch, I will ask if you want your application moved to the next clutch. I will assume you will want to, but just in case, I'll still ask. This will make *certain* that your 'acceptable' page will get a spot next time. If it's denied, or 'unacceptable', I'll send an email telling you what will need to be changed. If the changes occur, I'll put that page on the waiting list too. If not, I'll ignore the page until it's ready.

5 - You must have an email address that accepts attachments. Keep your inbox empty (which isn't hard now that Yahoo has such big boxes...) and make sure you check it often when you've applied to the clutch. Your email must if possible remain THE SAME for each clutch you adopt from. If I find out that you're applying to the same clutch with multiple emails and id's, you will be PERMANENTLY banned from adopting from this site - forever, period.

6 - I will send out images via email, with any specific information you need. For the first image: if the egg image doesn't go on its page promptly (within 10 days at most) I will keep the egg for the Colony instead. Every stage will go out once each image sent out is up (individually, not as a group if need be), but if that first one doesn't get up it won't hold anyone else back. You'll just have to apply again and do it right if you miss the deadline. Sorry - no exceptions. Any further delays will result in a clutch-long blacklist (so you won't be able to adopt until the images are up, and 1 clutch after that for multiple problems). Once they're adults, I will not send out any more images or info unless you request it. (Powers, etc.)

7 - I encourage folks to pair up their dragons and ask for clutches. That's the only way that the colony will thrive, after all. Dragons who are adopted here may fly at other agencies. (I know that's a divergance from typical but I've already gotten mine mated to offworld dragons, I don't see why others can't too.) Planet Twenty Glenn dragons do not require permanent mates, though they will likely remain with one mate most of their lives. They can 'shop around' a bit first. Early clutches will always be small, 2-4 eggs, but returning pairs will have better numbers. Only purebred Glenn dragons from official Glenn agencies will have these images.

8 - If your site moves, you are responsible for making sure I have the right link. I recommend that if you're merely 'moving for the sake of moving' that you leave the old page up with a link instead of just dropping the site entirely. I do not have time to update constantly when people move their sites. If you move, and don't tell me, and I find out a while later, I will simply say that the dragon has died or come back to reside with the Colony. After that point, if I find the dragon has been up somewhere (and still follows all the linking rules as above) I will reinstate it but I will *never* allow that owner to adopt here again. Why should I, when it's that much work to keep up with them?

9 - If for any reason you feel the need to quit collecting or have to abandon your sites (in favor of doing homework, finals, work, real world problems, etc) just email me about it and I'll put a special marker on your dragons. Be prepared to have a list of them, because I can't remember everyone who adopts by name and email. I will gladly take back or temporarily hold on to your dragons if life gets in the way of cyberpetting. A date of return is preferred, but if more than 9 months go by without a peep I'll just say they're back in the Colony. The same rules as 8 apply here - if you've got a great reason for having left and not communicated, and the dragons are up linked and all, I'll let them remain with you. No blacklist necessary for real world emergencies! But an email IS needed.

I think that about covers it... Move on to the Adopt section for more info and whether there are eggs available.
