BACK to the hatching

Elarcoth nudged his cloudy green partner awake. It's time to hunt. The morning is great for hunting. Cayeith grumbled and turned over, folding her wings over her horned muzzle.

Go 'way. I cannot believe how little you sleep.

Elarcoth nudged her again, and sent Sooty in close to try prying up her wings. Finally, Cayeith stood up in huffy anger. All right! All right! I want to sleep, you want to hunt. We hunt. Then, we sleep.

That's fine with me! Elarcoth thought back.

The Healing Den was an amazing place, and Elarcoth enjoyed taking a tour of the place with his cloudy green bond.

Baeris was quite impressed with the number of new dragons that her place had just gotten. In one fell swoop, out went five, ten came back. Plus the flitters.

Elarcoth seemed very proud that he'd paired up with a little flitter as well as his beautiful (if sleepy headed) green Cayeith.

"So you think you want to work with the flitters, do you?" Baeris asked. Elarcoth was supremely happy.

Cayeith sighed. If he's happy then I will be, it's nice and warm here too.

"Well don't be falling asleep on the job," Baeris reminded them. "The flitter egg hatchery is a busy place, but it's also very important that you keep an eye on the hatching eggs. They always need meat, and if you take turns hunting it'll be easier. They don't need much, but they do need it fresh. I've noticed," she said as she picked up a dark round egg, "that they don't like the meat that the human population eats, from the fridge."

But it's so convienent, Cayeith thought to her, I'd like to try it, if you didn't mind... So much easier than hunting.

Baeris laughed and laughed...

Elarcoth and his partner Cayeith work in the Flitter room. Between the two of them, they keep the newly hatched flitters and gryphs fed and even sometimes named.
