White Camdnith Ridden by Opal
A light-skinned woman with pale white-silvery hair that has a streak of black from the forehead approaches you. "Ah, you must be the one looking to become a candidate." She is tall, much taller than you, obviously taking after her father. She looks to be about 14 turns old, but she holds herself with ease. "Come, I'm sure you'd like to visit my little Camdnith's weyr." "I hear this dragon is white?" You ask, "and she came from your parent's dragons clutch!" "Yes, all true!" She says, grinning. "She will never be very large, probably smaller than a green in fact. But I love her so much! She is very smart, and I think she might have some other special abilities that hide out in these rare whites." "Special? Like what?" You ask. "Oh, some say that whites can orient themselves better in Between or while timing it," she pushes aside the cloth tapestry which leads to a small weyr. "Others tell me that she might be able to sense other people or dragons better, or even that she might be able to call upon the wisdom of the dead dragons who are all Between... I like that idea," she says. "Camdnith, come see our visitor!" A small hatchling dragon scurries away from the corner water-well, and looks you over. You have not seen many hatchlings, but you know this one is tiny compared to the ones you have! "Do you think that there will be other whites in the clutches here?" You ask, hoping beyond hope that you might impress one of these extraordinarily rare creatures. "There might be, but you might have to wait. There will always be a chance, since we do not neglect any eggs that are clutched smaller or different colors than the others, like some weyrs. They figure there is something wrong with those dragons, and that just might be untrue." You admire the tiny white dragon, and her whirling blue
eyes seem to enjoy your presence as well. Finally, though, you excuse
yourself and head back to the weyrbowl.
