Art Credits: Bughrahk, via Gumroad

Name: Cottolis Dreamsleep

Gender: Male, he/him, are there others like him anywhere here? He's not picky except for that!

Age: 17ish

Species: Mothkin, otherworldly

Racial Oddities: Given that there aren't particularly any insect Wyldkin on Dragondeep he is a bit of an oddity already. It's not really clear whether he in particular varies from his own species on their homeworld

Family: none right now; childhood friend Junipher Sparkwing, also out and about in the Nexus!

Origin/Current Location: (?) A world of steampunk moths, silkpunk! / Currently residing in the NeverEnding Grotto with the other dragon riders and potential riders || Planet Zar donation to the Novo Swap

Height: 4'2" quite smol

Weight: doesn't weigh nearly as much as any mammal or even bird at that height

Hair: white, a creamy snow shade though it's not really hair so much as fluff

Eyes: crimson rust, faceted

Appearance: as shown, a slate-grey blue and slightly-reddish grey body and limb arrangement with softer parts in the warm grey; a big floof of down around chest, neck, and back of head resembling hair and a beard or a mane; long floofy antennae; two large flighted wings though he is careful not to get them too wet or bent up in any exploration or adventuring. He has a delightfully chipper sounding voice if you can hear it, but has a very wide range available when he's doing dramatic readings; You'd be surprised by how well he can change his overall appearance, he has cast himself as 'the old wizard' or 'the dashing hero' in plays to equal success, given his bearing and range of motion (though he always appears to be wearing a cloak or cape! wonder why!)

Skills and Profession: As a bard type, Cottolis has quite a bit of practice though can still stand some more formal instruction by a variety of teachers. Like many 'teenagers' he has gone through his phases and lingers on the poetry and story-telling aspects of that trade more than singing and dancing. That said, he is very adept at composing a play or literary work and presenting it in a coherent manner. He's a bit on the snippy side if an actor or performer isn't doing their role well enough, but he has a good sense of who to cast in what role, ^1 his 'make contacts' skill is that of a keen-eyed casting director, always listening for people with good intonation and inflection, who appear to be able to read well, and are 'stage worthy'. His ^2 ability to work on stages themselves is more also 'to direct where things are put' but has a good grasp on how cast-off items might be of use in a prop format instead of a practical one. His *lores are in some ways 'switched' with typical Dragondeep specs: he is from offworld, not locally, so he's been working on gaining information about this world he's on now, but relies on his homeworld's basic tales and information as a basis for many of his works. It's not like they're tremendously different, but there are specific histories here that he doesn't yet know.
Possessions: Does the theater at the Grotto count? Of course it does! They didn't have one! But they have him and several other artistic story-spinners, and without a stage and proper venue they would be left to wander the streets of their small township, and no one wants random encounters with bards like that... >_> He has assembled a good amount of gear while on the mainland performing and helping with performances on various Wyldkin or even Reed stages (that took effort to convince the locals that he had what it took to perform his own works on their lauded stages!), so their theater is growing better stocked for costumes, spare instruments, and backdrop items. He prefers to work in the background of this location, writing scripts and directing, so he also has connections for paper, ink and quills, and even a typewriter and printing press in the works. Otherwise he has his own hand-written poetry books, journals, and the like, that he's dragged around with him on his pilgrimage, and he will never be parted from those.
Personality: An artistic perfectionist. He hates sharing anything that isn't 100% up to snuff. Although young, Cottolis is a romantic at heart. He loves wooing pretty lads and lasses with his poems. He falls in love quickly and deeply, but the spark burns as fast as candle flame. He's far more of a 'social butterfly' than his dragon bond, that's for sure, and enjoys social contact if there's no performance involved as much as if he is stringing words in a sonnet.

History: Childhood friends with Junipher Sparkwing. Junipher and Cottolis hail from a silkpunk fantasy world, who left their home together as part of a coming of age pilgrimage. (They aren't required to stay together, of course!) While his friend Junipher has a knack for instruments, Cottolis' strong suit lies in poetry and tales. He's eloquent and loquacious, but is stubbornly perfectionist about his work. Cottolis really enjoys being out and about in the Nexus. He's unlikely to want to return home when his pilgrimage is over.

He finds the idea of bonding a dragon highly romantic and will likely pick clutches to stand at based solely on how he feels about them. It turned out, he felt quite right about attending one Burrow nest-breaking. These amazing dragons were quite entertaining and a bit on the scary side sometimes, but one of them came to him alone after looking over everyone else. She makes an impressive entrance, a dramatic exit, and an imposing audience member.

Dragon:

Ijameli Name: Ijameli (ee djah MEL ee)
Gender: Female (+preference as desired)
Size: medium-small 8'5"s / 36' l / 44' ws
Build: Leggy, lanky, a frilly noodle
Physical/Breed Features: Many Eyed Mutt; four very long and slender legs with large cloven hoof ends, floof on ankles; two feathered and segmented wings with floof on arms and eye-spots (temporarily eyes*) on segmented fronds; also fronds over tail and at tail tip with floof added; very long and slender body with a thin tail; head is beak-shaped due to crow-daemon lines, has large external tuft-tipped ears, 2 large smooth ram-like horns, and a tuft of fluff on head and upper neck
Colors: White-Black-Silver Calico; claws graphite, eyes pale blue-white, horns white *eyes on feather tips become visually-enabled during telepathic speech and when producing an air blast but otherwise are mere markings, and don't appear to be 'real eyes' when she is in forms other than shown even if she is using those powers in those shapes
Stats: Strength 1, Speed 2, Endurance 2, Agility 4, Health 2, Intelligence 5
Abilities: Winged Flight sorta, tends not to fly tremendously often but can definitely do so with an eerie whistling sound produced by the frond-like 'feathers'; given how lightweight Cottolis is, he can ride her without any issue even in faun form (though his wings get in the way a bit)
Teleportation, she can see where she's going, perhaps using those eye-spots to peer into other dimensions, though mainly on-site; the sound that she makes on leaving or arrival is that of velcro being ripped; can carry selected things up to her own weight on these jaunts and doesn't need to be flying or in motion
Telepathy (Very Strong), again with the eyes? they don't blink and they don't have pupils but they see so very much, including into the deeper thoughts of intelligent beings. Only those who have strong psionic resistances or magical shielding can resist having their mind read or being spoken to. Her mental voice is almost always accompanied by a chittering of near-musical high chiming notes, though she has considered, after having heard this as a comment by Cottolis, changing it to a laugh track or sad-trombone or what have you, lending contextual commentary...
Shapeshifting (Anthro/Faun/Quad/Taur) The ability to shapeshift through a spectrum of forms that encompasses anthropomorphic (human sized), faun (more monstrous biped), quadrupedal (their natural form), and taur (no human features but centaur-like in limb configuration); she prefers to be in either Faun or Quad formats most of the time, feeling that her Anthro shape is 'too small, head's not in the right place' (though she is still nearly 7' tall at the head in that shape) and doesn't really know what to do with 'arms' in Taur (also there aren't really taurs on Dragondeep either that they have found. Maybe they should find some!)
Breath Weapon Icy Air, She can breathe or effectively summon a blast or ball of super-chilled air, which lingers where it's been put if she concentrates on shaping it into a sort of wafting cloud. This air will settle on things in a hoarfrost-like shimmering layer, and if exposed human-like skin or reptile scales are hit with it they will definitely have frostbite if they don't brush it off immediately. Ijameli can make quite pretty set pieces with this as a 'fog machine' or 'sparkly night sky simulation on the black cloth stage dressing', but only after convincing by Cottolis
Parents: Mother Alaiso Father Silianjath
Origin: Burrow generation 3 White
Art By: Phe
Bond: Cottolis
Meeting Notes: Avoids getting involved, Smug. This dragoness is a bit on the aloof side even according to Cottolis, but she does enjoy listening to his fun tales of adventure or romance and has even contributed some spice of her own... well 'her' own, she's listened in to some of the inhabitants of the Grotto and passed along their wildly imagined or even real adventures which he then spins into 'just close enough to identify but not naming names' stories to tell at the theater.
