Name: Archie Cooper Gender: Female, bi Age/DOB: around 20 as shown, born 203x put into stasis until Rookery opens, and aged from 3 to 13 at that point RY 0 Origin: Repurposed Earth, spliced; Current location is North Aperture, but is on call everywhere Family: Mother Rachel Cooper, father Martin Quail, bringing a lot of red-headed tech oriented family into the mix; was spliced, with permission Other: As energetic as Rachel and high-intensity hyperfocused as Martin... either get out the way or hand her the pliers Height: 5'7" looks taller than she is and wears thick soled shoes for a bit of a boost Weight: 100ish, Icarus treatment on parent and herself while spliced creates a muscular and incredibly lightweight form Hair: brick red, thick and frizzy, frays and responds to ambient humidity so it's usually in a tail, but is quite long Eyes: pale grey-green with a blue tint, squints a lot and has a bit of baggy under them, could likely use glasses since that's a trait common to both sides of her family - she finds it easier to Vortally see than physically, go get glasses, girl... Appearance: paler skin than most, though freckles up in sunlight rather than burning or tanning. Enjoys a fashionably altered version of the Icarus undergear and will put on armor over it if needed, in shades of pale blue or white; notably she keeps herself grounded with the shoes and those are also insulated gloves. She's curvy and somewhat bouncy in posture, but make no mistake, if she's working on something she's going to hunch over and squint and talk to herself, and suddenly spring into action or yell for a tool or information in a rather loud voice. She almost always smells of coffee and fried electronics Icarus Processing: yes, during splicing with a booster after being released and during aging process around 2 years old. The original process likely added nuance to her Vortal presence, while the booster picked up the physical aspects, since she's about twice as quick on her feet and at least 3x more nimble with her fingers than normal folks. A touch on the jumpy side, though, her reactions regarding movement or particularly loud sounds means she'll leap out of a chair or suddenly vanish and then recover her wits a little later. She is very flexible but not to the point of contortionism |

Genetic Abilities: Melissa knew because she'd already spliced Rachel up with some of the donors that produced Martin, that they were a very good match. Archie's intelligence is her key feature, to the point of not even needing Pythagoras treatments and still being able to match Veronica and others in that program easily. As a true genius she is almost wasted at the Rookery, but 'almost' there - because she can visit other locales easily, there is so much technology at her disposal that there's always something fun to make or fix up for the locals. She's among the people delving into the Shafts at North Aperture regularly, because she can sense the technology and electronics when nearby. Within 200 meters, she can get a vague idea of what a powered device or circuit board might do. But with touch she can fully activate it, sense its uses and how it actually has been used, a strong form of psychometry that works only on such things, and not on simple mechanical gear or living things. She is definitely among the few in the Pantheon who can also easily deal with Combine technology, virtually any alien device as long as it requires a power source and isn't strictly mechanical, can obey her whim. She can implant information or commands on a specific computer chip and place it where someone else might accidentally install it, or even alter an entire run of them while in a Combine factory... Like Martin, Cricket, and Laura, she is easily able to utilize the Icarus gear both with and without extra armor or other bits - it helps render her invisible at will, or camouflaged when there's less need, and she can reinforce its ability to overload or cause electrical arcs as a last ditch defense mechanism, though that wears her out Vortally and also burns out the circuitry until repaired. She likes to use the suit's 'cling' to stick herself almost like a static covered balloon, onto a wall or ceiling, but she must remain still to do that and that's all but impossible if there's anything interesting going on below her
Skills or Profession: repairs and research, she is easily capable of sorting through dozens of discarded or broken devices and finding specific bits with which to repair them. Can easily tell trash from treasure, and invents things with what she digs up. Usually they're functional and useful for folks who aren't powered: stilts for extending reach without needing to grab a ladder, extendable catwalks, even portal-based grappling hook devices! When needed, she aids mom and dad in fixing and repairing larger scale items like power supplies and generators, structural supports, sensor arrays and the like
Personality: enjoyable when she's paying attention to people, but that's somewhat rare. Very focused though not particularly angry if interrupted, and always enjoys the fruits of her labor, she's building things to get them built, not just to have a 'truck up on cinderblocks' out front...
Events or History: in RY 5 Ms Spectrometer was brought to the Rookery and met up with a young teenaged Archie, and they hit it off tremendously well. They grew up together and have been inseparable. They enjoy delving into the ruins as well as the various Spheres and Shafts of North Aperture, but since their work takes them almost anywhere, they've encountered a lot of unusual stuff all around the world. They roost in the incomplete Shaft 3 Sphere 6 area, but have certainly carved out their own home in the rubble there, so no one is going to complain about how much space they take up. They have a whole little office and manufacturing area to themselves, and others visit to use it since it's in good shape with her working on it!
