Name: Dr Judith Mossman Gender: Female, straight Age/DOB: 26@Events Origin: Repurposed Earth, Austin, Texas Family: None surviving Other: Is considered 'quite close' to Eli Vance, though it appears over time this is more a fling and 'friends with benefits' and their relationship is considerably more due to their shared scientific interests; She seems a bit put off by Eli's sudden 'interest' in Rhea Mercer... Height: 5'9" Weight: 145, slender but curvy (not quite as hip-heavy as shown) Hair: Red auburn, straight and usually kept up in a bun or pony tail, slightly below shoulder length Eyes: Light brown, somewhat suspicious and usually looks a touch nervous Appearance: Light skinned, tends to be frowning or looking concerned about something, often wearing a turtleneck shirt or sweater, but can be found in a lab coat when working; has a pleasantly husky voice, though usually again sounds a bit testy or nervous Genetic Abilities: None known Icarus Processing: None, would not benefit |

Skills or Profession: Scientist and engineering degrees for computer sciences and electrical engineering have given Judith Mossman a good spot in post-Event Black Mesa. She is able to repair or construct many complex devices, and has a thorough understanding of maths and physics to go along with them. This however was left largely unused when she was an instructor at AAEC, though she did get to teach extraordinarily gifted children she was still not actually doing the work. She isn't afraid to get her hands dirty working on large machinery, and can be trusted to find and repair nearly any mechanical issue in the Mesa. With the rediscovery of the Borealis - in the Rookery's universe - Judith has jumped at the chance to learn more about it and what it contains. She leads a small contingent of people to that location, along with the dragons who defend it, and conducts what experiments she can, repairing and doing data scans. | |
Personality: Jumpy, a touch on the paranoid side, and somewhat arrogant, Judith Mossman in this universe is at least not a traitor - like she is in several others. That's largely because she was cowed into submission by Paxton when he asserted that no one who leaves the Enrichment Center should betray them, lest he come down on them in a rather messy and permanent way. However, she is also technically brilliant and will eagerly lapse into a jargon-filled discussion with anyone willing to entertain her. Thankfully at Black Mesa there are plenty of scientists who do exactly the same thing. She is not 'clingy', but will prefer the company of a few closer friends, to being in a larger group or isolated among strangers. |

Events or History: After her degree, earned at age 25, she applied to Black Mesa but was passed up (in favor of Gordon Freeman), so she then put in for a position at the Armacham-Aperture Enrichment Center, and became ... a teacher of 10 year olds. This did gall her - she was quite adept at all the things they would want, but then again she has considered the fact that had she been anywhere else in the EC at the time of the Synchronicity Event, she'd have been gassed to death by GLADOS or killed by the subsequent dangers in the ruins of the place. Because she had been among the very few actual adults left alive there, she was apt to allow Doug Rattmann to get a little too close to her... Until he vanished into the facility, and later, kidnapped her out from under the kids noses. The abuse that she suffered at the hands of that man was enough to put her off of any physical contact for quite some time to come. Even though the ELLs that he'd also captured or threatened offered their help, she still considered them less than Human, and would wait for 'real' consolation back at Black Mesa once they'd gotten the teleportation devices running. She arrived to Black Mesa and was almost entirely a changed person there. She aided Eli Vance and the other scientists in getting much of their satellite network running once more, and could flex her scientific and engineering muscles once more. She and Eli are considered a couple, at least tenuously, but after the Rookery things between them have grown a little less intimate and more work-partnership instead. She's all right with this, but feels a little threatened by Rhea and Rachel, since they're both also extraordinary engineers in their own rights. Yilanith choosing her has been a strong point in her life, and she feels like she and the little greeny-gold can do anything. They have headed up north to the Borealis, even with Rachel being on hand she realizes that the woman is hardly a threat, and more of a strongly needed ally. |
