Name: Journey Blankenship

Gender: Female, aggressively hetero

Age/DOB: ~80 now, created on another dead dimension in their 2021; arrives early in RY5

Origin: For lack of a better word: Dimension Failure... By the time Journey was created in an Armacham laboratory, the world was literally doomed

Family: She has had no children herself (before now), but like Melissa who is clearly her otherworldly duplicate she usually makes them in a lab. She considers every version of Keenan Lane her goal and partner, but that hasn't stopped her from having plenty of other lovers and friends along the way; does have a born son with Local Lane, Peregrine

Other: Journey is a completely engineered woman, created as above in a lab that was only brought online because that world's Keenan needed it functional. He was already dying and made mortal by their Combine having effectively siphoned his energy off, and with the last of it, he embued this girl with the ability to genre-hop. She's gained other powers along the way, but her goal was to locate another Lane, and get his help to bring the few surviving humans off of their dead Earth. (See Events for more.)

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 135* Icarus treated, though it was a risk, because on that world the processing had a much higher failure rate. But since she was genetically engineered with the stuff in mind, obviously it turned out okay. She's curvy and long legged, and slightly stronger than she looks

Hair: Blond, a golden shade, grows stupidly fast so she might be seen with hair this long one day, have it cut short the next, and within a week it'll be long again. It is always kinked and frizzy in certain weather conditions, she will just cut it off if she needs to work, but if she is needed for fighting, she'll tie it back

Eyes: Brilliant yellow, this one's were always that way - Melissa's started brown; open and observant, often concerned, but also do not anger her, those eyes will bore right into you with her ire; where Melissa is known as "Guilt Has Yellow Eyes", Journey is certainly "Accusation or Acceptance Amber"

Appearance: Peaches and cream with some freckling in sun, prefers white and pale shades, and though not shown she actually doesn't care for sandals and usually has boots of some kind; husky voice, and almost always smells 'delicious'

Icarus Processing: Yes, as she was being created; this process lightened her overall body weight and strengthened her joints, bones, and muscularity to a degree; she's not considerably stronger than normal but she is incredibly durable

Genetic Abilities: Immortality in the form of regeneration and durability, can heal from grievous wounds such as having an arm or leg removed entirely, within a full day or so. Also regrows Icarus on her bones, like Melissa, but hers is actually more or less the bones themselves, rather than a coating. She has a perfect and impossibly lengthy memory - where she stores a literal billion years worth of other people's memories is anybody's guess - even the variety of Lanes doesn't know. He can't store them all in his human brain... Originally Journey had only marginal levels of psychic energies - but with several Convocation 'donors' shifting things around for her, she has got a more or less 'standard suite' of Empathy, Telepathy, and a very strong Aura Sense. Unlike Mel, she lacks any form of genetic control or sense. She has been given the power to open portals between same-dimension destinations, as well as move between entire dimensions on her own. She cannot take others with her on the trans-dimensional journeys, however, only between locations on-world. She can 'summon' Convocation, understanding how their 'call' works, though her signal is weak she's managed to do it in at least two or three dimensions. This has brought with it an amount of surprise, and often enough has tipped the balance for that world's Lane - usually in his favor. Sometimes... not so much.
Skills or Profession: What Journey does has defined her for many decades. She is a seeker and helper, a constant companion but not a servant to whim. Her skill downloads are extensive enough that she would be able to blend in successfully on most Earths in virtually any era, though she absolutely prefers 'modern' - she's often enough in those ruins helping rebuild after all. Her scientific knowledge is usually in the form of electronics engineering, rather than genetics, but she's done her share helping out creating devices that can do those things. She can speak English, attempts Vort to a good success, Russian, French, and Spanish to decent degrees with a wide variety of cursing in all of them. Journey has mundane skills that get used quite frequently until the shit hits the proverbial fan on whatever Earth she's at: secretarial and filing, she's very good with logistics as Melissa is, but she's also quite the self-starter and will absolutely go ahead and speak up about things directly when she needs to. What she does best, however, is listen to Lane. She will take instruction from him alone, if there's any doubt. But also, she realizes that sometimes he needs a nudge in the right direction. She can tell his moods no matter the dimension, no matter what skin he's wearing. If he needs to be reassured, she can do that. If he requires a pep talk, she's on it. And if he needs to be scolded, goaded, or riled up, she does that with ease - though not without consequence. She absolutely hates it when she has needed to be his enemy, but then she knows that he's put himself in that position all by himself, and he's a big boy. He gets to deal with those consequences whether he likes it or not, sometimes. And she will let him know that any way she can, usually by blurting out telepathically all the things she's already seen, right when they meet. She lets him know why she's there, who she was made by, and how much she likes the job.
Personality: Not as calm, cool, and collected at all times as Melissa is - and ... Mel isn't calm at all sometimes. Journey has a long fuse but a very bright temper, because she's actually used to dealing directly with the Convocation, and sometimes they need to have a full-blast of it to get any point across. She does seem to have a bit of a superiority complex regarding most 'other people', though she doesn't disrespect anyone outright, she definitely judges and finds many lacking. She will not hesitate to just up and smack someone who needs it - whether it's because they've insulted her or someone else, they've done something really stupid, or they need to be shaken out of a stupor or freakout. She carries herself with ease, she knows she's beautiful but she also wants to convey that she's not for anyone else unless she says so. And if she's already latched on to a Lane, good luck getting near him. She won't be 'overbearingly' clingy, but she does know how he works and what he likes. ... She's trained one of them. >_> She's thanked Caroline for having trained hers already...

Events or History: On one Earth, the battle against the Combine was lost somewhat quickly - because it hadn't started due to any interference that Kallah-Vahh might have made, it was his last defense of the worlds, from the creatures that had pursued his kind across their galaxy and more, in their need for fuel. On that Earth, not even Black Mesa existed: only Armacham, which did serve to produce good defenses for a short while, but also of note there are no Vortigaunts in that dimension at all. Thankfully the Combine there cannot breech other dimensions, and have never been able to use the Convocation's memories or intellect, only their actual energy. The last world lost, and Keenan on his literal last legs, this unnamed experiment was given a boost with as much social and scientific skill as they could load her up with, there wasn't time for much else, and that Keenan sent her away for help. Not for him, and not for the planet: both of those were doomed entirely already. But for the two hundred or so living Humans left who he'd collected together in an abandoned salt mine (the site of where an Aperture facility should have been on any other Earth). They were sent to a Xen that was safe...er, and nothing more from that dimension has ever been heard.
She had done her job, frantically locating a new Lane to impress the information she'd been sent with. But he was much more similar to those 'kindler gentler' Lanes that occasionally crop up, and did what he could, but then was left with a bit of a dilemma - his own world's care was going to need help too. As with many other versions of this story, eventually the Combine were defeated... and this girl without a name finally was given one when she had a touch of a meltdown. She had nothing to show for her own existence, except this goal, and now the goal was met... He named her Journey, then her last name occurred a little later, Blankenship - a blank slate, writing her own story under her own power now. That second Lane granted her a kernel of telepathy and empathy, so now she could home in on other dimensions with better ease. That was nearly 80 years ago, and numerous dimensions.
Like Melissa, she was built 'to last' - there's no telling whether she is immortal in the sense that Mel is, but she's clearly able to fend off disease, injury, and hasn't aged at all in the time she's been traveling between worlds.
She has sought out no fewer than a dozen Lanes - sometimes they're just in need of a secretary who knows how he likes his coffee, with others she's picked up arms and led charges into the Combine Overworld itself. And some few she has had to put down kallah-vahh before he managed to destroy everything. Three of those Lanes have died while she had to look on, all of them have shared with her their 'kept' secrets and stories - promises made to people on long-dead worlds, that they would never be forgotten. And she has also shared those with the new ones she meets, once she trusts that the knowledge will be used for the betterment of everyone. Their stories will always last, now.
And here on the Rookery, she is delighted to see others who are actively familiar with the idea of moving between worlds, having duplicates, and ... and dragons!
What exactly she does here, is... kind of a mystery. *She giggles* she does him, all right. >_> Well, she does. Which one, now there's a question... Here's a clue, it's usually Local Lane, as the other is already 'claimed' by Melissa. She respects that, at least.

With the arrival of the Carnies and such, her spot at Lane Mansion feels a touch redundant, and... she's as likely to be there as she is their home on Rookery Xen. However she does slip in under their noses and at times she and Melissa are the ones sleeping in Lane's bed in that suite. She has the benefit of her own Construct, created by Local Lane (Peregrine's father), and while there, Journey and Melissa only barely consult with any given version of Keenan about raising Peregrine, and it was specifically for Peregrine that the Hallowed Silk event was formulated.

Dragon

Name: Encore
Gender: Female
Size/Shoulder/Length: Medium-small 8'7" s / 42' l / 90' ws
Colors: mostly white, armor on neck, back, fronts of limbs, and tail fades from reddish-orange through brilliant yellow, scales on tail also orange between white and armor; wingsails, horns, claws, ice spikes, and dorsal ridges all gradate from rich red-orange through brilliant yellow at edges, head-to-tail, and are all spattered by white markings; eyes brilliant orange
Features: Ice-Skywing, Ice dominant though those wings are very Sky.
Powers: Winged Flight, Encore is a delightfully skilled flier, with grace and speed, and a good bit of flourish to her moves. She can fly in a stiff storm wind, and actually likes flying in blizzards or sleet (though not with Journey on her neck). But equally she enjoys soaring into a clear cloudless sky mid-day just to gleam in the sun.
Communication, Encore has a very strong Vortal bond with Journey, and can pick up mental chatter from powerful minds around her. She speaks the typical Draconic, but also Aquatic dragon tongues, English, and enough cursing to get by with Melissa or Journey in Vort.
Ice Tolerance, though she does have a very strong Skywing appearance, all of this dragon is suited to life in the frigid ice and snow. She prefers it when they get good storms going around the Mansion, those are few and far between. So she has asked Journey to teleport her to the Borealis or even Wilson's place, just to cool down and play a while. Her claws, while shorter than a true Icewing's, are just as dangerously sharp, and her wing claws have been known to punch holes in inch-thick metal or solid stone. She does dive into the frozen Arctic waters around the ship, but remains mostly in the shallower areas and doesn't try to go as deep as the Seawings.
Fire Production, and then there's the fact that instead of any form of chill breath, her Skywing brilliant coloration mirrors the shade of her flame breath. She can aim a quick burst of around a 5 foot long gout of flame with accuracy around 50 meters, and repeat this a dozen times in a battle. After that, though, she's just about spent. The fire itself is super hot, but doesn't last long - long enough to fry circuits and blacken glass optics, melt plastics, and ignite any gasses or flammables in the area. Someone covered in snow would get by with some singed hair and be completely dry if she hit them with it, it can't burn through things because it just vanishes too quickly.
Parentage: Unknown, likely mother was Skywing and father Ice, who knows, it's possible she's not even from that same dimension's Pyrrhan world.
Origin: Adopted from Moonshimmer981 on Deviantart, Wings of Fire by Tui Sutherland
Other Info: Leave it to an otherworldly doppelganger to bond up with effectively a carbon-copy of Melissa's own Ice-Sky Aurora. It is completely possible that these two dragons are sisters, but it's also entirely possible they're clones, no one really knows when Encore arrived, but everyone, including Aurora, accepts her as-is. Even her name is a nod at this.
