Other: Is quite good friends with the medics and surgical staff, particularly the former Army medic Rufus.

Hair: pale brown verging on dusty blond, kept short, and in his words 'thinning before his time'

Appearance: Fair skinned with freckles that develop more strongly in the sun, often wearing scrubs and a lab coat that are pretty stained but still as clean as he can get them; is not 'fastidious' about his appearance, but he absolutely keeps his hands clean and his face covered when he's working with any Outlander or patient that could be endangered by dirt. He has a pleasant voice, and has been known to have an extraordinary bedside manner

Icarus Processing: None done, though he's considered it over time.
Skills or Profession: Chris is a medic, doctor, healer - he was denied the ability to become a 'real' doctor by virtue of being only eight when the Events occurred, so he is 'in name only' the doctor that most refugees or outlanders visit in the Mesa. He did have extensive downloads inserted when he was a child, and they got their workout within the first few minutes of the Events. He has never stopped learning, however, and has chosen to research surgical processes, and become a very well-rounded 'family doctor'. He is quite adept at delivering babies, and people enjoy his company even when he has bad news to deliver. He is observant and chooses his words carefully, and is not above bringing in 'muscle' to strong-arm some folks back into the medical wing in order to give them their annual physical examinations. He's very good with charts and understanding tools such as X-Ray machines and EEGs, and has access to virtually any form of diagnostic tool imaginable, knows how to use them all. Additionally, he's an effective triage medic, he knows who needs attention first and for what problems with just a glance - and he knows when to back away and let a stronger Vortal healer take up where he's left unable to finish. He keeps extensive and well-written research notes on everyone that he's encountered, at least once settled within his 'job' and having an office in both the Mesa and the EC.
Personality: Chris is a stable, smart young man, who would give anything for his friends and family to be safe. He will go above and beyond to his very best capacity when he knows lives are on the line. If the world hadn't gone to shit, Chris would have made one of the best MDs the world had ever seen - and even now, he certainly is. This concern and diligence toward his patients and the Pantheon in general does come at a bit of a cost though, because he will often lose sleep and push himself well past any reasonable limits, into exhaustion. With the dragons here, however, he has learned to take breaks and listen to their advice.
Events and History: Chris was quite young, but still able and willing to help out, when the Synchronicity Events occurred. He aided his fellow students in healing themselves, and day after day his power and observational abilities grew. He was on hand during pretty much any of the Pantheon's incursions into GLADOS's territory, and kept his head in situations where others might have panicked. Overall Chris has always been a calm, sensible addition to any group. He has offices in both Black Mesa and the EC, teleporting between them. His office in the Mesa belonged to an older doctor, who Chris has never met, obviously, but has almost never considered himself to be worthy of sitting in the chair behind his desk. He's reminded constantly by others, however, that this is not the case: he's helped deliver even remarkably difficult babies into the world - witness not just Melissa's firstborn Darly, but Jill and Rex's burning their way out of Jill... Obviously he gets the assistance of those who have expertise, but he enjoys being on hand for births and has such a love of life that he would never miss another.

Dragon

Name: Dereyk
Gender: Male
Size/Shoulder/Length: Medium 10' shoulder / 35' long / 90' ws
Colors: Cream fade tan, large brown spot marks, mottled brown-white wingsails; changing eyes
Features: Pernese origin with Alskyran name, four legs with 3 clawed paws, long spaded tail, small headknobs, low soft crest on top of neck, 3-tined wings with only one visible finger, no claw or wrist thumb; hide that requires shedding
Powers: Telepathic Communication (strongest with bond, weaker with other powered / Vortal humans, not audible for normal humans, exceptional with other dragons)
Teleportation / Betweening - can teleport accurately with or without guidance, and exposure to Healing Den for an extended period allows him to actually go through dimensions with ease, this is exhausting, he prefers flight and on-planet teleportation to dimension hopping
Winged Flight - a very strong flier, for his 'chonk', highly durable and can glide for long distances without effort
Assisted Firebreath - requires coal or other substance to mix with breath, when he has access to this, his fire is exceptionally hot, and can fill a massive volume if enclosed
Parentage: White-Red Marked Lanayth (Istabithan) and White-White Bronze Jaluth (Sapphire, ridden by Dawnlight rider Ep'son-page in progress)
Origin: Healing Den Frenzy 3, abandoned and resided within Healing Den for many years
Other Info: Dereyk's name means 'brave', but it's been so very long since he's needed bravery. With Chris now able to direct him toward battlefield rescue missions, the old thrill of fighting Thread has returned to him. He doesn't bother with breathing fire. Chris needs him to be bold in the face of such bizarre enemies: Striders and Hunters, Combine soldiers with weapons that even the Healing Den didn't have. He can easily deflect most small ordinance, and can brush aside troop transports, enjoys going head to head with Hunters because in his words, they're small and fast and so much fun to chase around. With the ability to fly, he can absolutely capture Combine creatures, and does so with gusto. All this, while Chris locates those in need of healing. The moment that Chris gives the call, Dereyk is away from a fight, and back to his new bond's side. His broad shoulders carry a specially made harness which can load up to three injured people on his chest, so he tries not not take damage to that object if he's wearing it in combat. Dereyk uses his tail and bulk as much as his claws or bite in battle, he's a remarkable combatant, for one with a bond who has tried his whole life to avoid battles...
