Features: Leaf-Sand hybrid, very evenly balanced, with leaf wings so 'Leaf dominant'; four muscular legs with 5 and 4 short curved claws; two leaf-veined leathery wings with 4 visible fingers, elbow strut, and short wrist thumb all with short curved claws; body is sinuous and well balanced, with a very long tail having a sharp venomous stinger; body is scaled with even armor on belly, cell-like scales on body, stronger armor along entire spine; neck has spiked frill with webbing, head, body and tail have Sandwing-like low fin; head is angular with sharp beak, prominent eye ridges and face armor scales, two elegant long upturned horns, external ears
Powers: Winged Flight, stronger than many Leafwing fliers, her wingsails are thick and heavier than most and her muscular frame can handle quite a bit of powerful wingbeats. She's able to lift another dragon at least for a short distance, clinging on to them with all four limbs, if needed in a battle she'll get them out though she must rest and not do much flying after an exertion like that. Obviously, she can carry an incredible amount of goods or humanoids, and often will lift refugees out of a location or bring in other humanoid healers to help behind the battle lines. She is fast enough that she generally avoids any injuries from lasers or bullets, but has been known to take direct hits in order to protect an already-injured companion.
Verbal and Vortal Speech, though she cannot really 'speak' in the Vortessence, her presence is noted by anyone who can see Vortal auras as 'strong'. Thus she appears on the scene and can be told apart from other dragons for the most part. Her father's escape from the Othermind taught her to mistrust actual invasive thoughts, though she realizes that there are always two sides to the story: the Vortessence and those who speak in its colorful mental shades are radically different from the Combine who have their own sort of mental network, and are controlled very much like the Othermind's subjects. She has learned how to detect the Combine's taint, and combats it, but also warns that those who may use the Vortessence against others should take care not to abuse their power. Verbally she speaks Draconic, and is learning several dialects of it due to the different breeds she's had to learn how to deal with - did you know that some dragons don't have scales?! She also speaks English and understands most simple Vort phrases, preferring a clearly spoken word or two to a lengthy conversation in combat situations. But that said, she does know quite a bit of technical jargon for her duties, and if it's not an emergency she will sit with keen attention on her patient, asking just the right questions to get solid information about their injury or condition before proceeding.
Venom Stinger, though she's clearly a healer she is also able to defend herself in true Sandwing fashion with that heavy, venom-filled stinger. She would like to be able to merely incapacitate victims, but truth be told that venom is extremely potent and will kill almost anything about the size of a horse or smaller - so she must be very careful around humans and Vorts.
Plant Manipulation, though not as powerful as her sire, Desert Thorn is certainly able to sense and work with plants of all types - living only - in order to ascertain their use, or viability as food or healing, poison, or functional uses like net building or construction material. Those green harness parts around her chest are formed of still-living vines, and inside some of the packets on them she stores seeds, seedlings, bottles of spores, and all manner of other plant matter in order to keep herself well stocked in emergencies. She has consulted with the little Human family of Eden, Jade, and a few others, since they also utilize plants in such a manner, and they've helped her learn more about the plants on Earth and what they can do to or for the natives. She can plant a seed and as long as there is enough water and soil space can grow it to a semi-matured plant in about a day, but this does leave her magically exhausted for a while. She tends to wait until just after any given battle or large event, to work on her extensive garden in the Ranch's foothills, and as it's out of the way and other randomly growing patches of 'weird unearthly plant life' exist around the whole place already it's not like the Combine will notice it from above. It's just another patch of stuff. That patch of stuff, however, houses a growing collection of herbs, beneficial healing plants, even Xenian plants. Those eyestalk light-bearing plants are certainly her favorite from that world, oh wait wait, she also likes those flowering plants whose 'fruit' can be fed to those fish-like creatures... okay they use those as guns, because those fruits explode but still! how handy!
Parentage: Father was a SapWing healer who fled from the Othermind, mother was a nomad Sandwing
Origin: Adopted from HufflepuffHannah, linearts by Luna-the-Nightwing, on Deviantart, Wings of Fire by Tui Sutherland

Skills or Profession: Is a great doctor, able to glean information about how an injury occurred or where a sickness was acquired in order to best treat it. She does deal much better with sickness and diseases and smaller injuries such that can be healed with ointments or poultices applied, eaten, or inhaled. But she is also very well trained at helping with stitching wingsails or skin together, setting or re-setting broken bones, and calming hysterical or petrified patients. Her focus had been obviously on dragons from her own world, but she's learning a lot from the locals about humans, Vorts, and the other breeds of dragons nearby, in order to best help them - what might work on a dragon may kill a human afterall. She has an eye for discerning invidiuals from groups: not just for dragons, but Humans and even the difficult-to-tell-apart Vorts, and can pick a plant out of a bouquet with ease.
Personality: Always has their listening ears on as they tend to their plants or patients, she is calm and a gentle soul, but like most doctors she can also exert herself to impress an important detail or make sure that a patient knows what to do or not to do again. Firm, but loving. She would not allow anyone to destroy her garden - or that of anyone else - and knows the importance of personal boundaries. So she asks before attempting any efforts, except when a patient is clearly unconscious or unable to reply due to pain or condition. Of note, she is put off by Paxton and his overt command structure: yes, it's clear those dragons under his control are individuals and have their own personalities but... then they act literally on his whim? He has a cadre of his own cloned soldiers, and that's not enough for him? She respects his authority, but she doesn't have to like how he goes about enforcing it.
Events or History: Things would never get settled very well on her homeworld, but when things seemed to be at least marginally under control nearby, a strange portal opened around the bend of a stream. She could hear things through it, odd howling, but also the calls of dragons? Words both familiar and extremely exotic came to her ears, and she gathered her wits and her gear, and took a glance into the glowing ring. What she saw was so completely different than she expected. It wasn't entirely out of place, a little less plant life than the surrounding on her side, but it was a scrub desert and it was night-time just like here... only that moon... weird, just the one in the sky? It seemed that there were dragons flying overhead, as the carpet of stars was occasionally blocked out by large wing shapes. And though some amount of fear filled her, she conquered that and stepped through.
Little Scavengers, and some... that were not like them at all were sitting around a bonfire, with smaller animals bounding here and there making those odd noises. Yip-yip-prrt- and then some kind of sound that threatened to burst her scales right off! When the brightly colored animals were called away those Scavengers noted her arrival, and their weird large-eyed not-human friends hummed with a deep and pleasant song. They helped her translate: this was a world known as Earth, these people were refugees and ranchers, off in the distance was a place known as Black Mesa where many more dragons resided... And they were fighting an enemy that had all but destroyed their entire world already. It seemed that the odds had been against them for many years here.
It seemed like an appropriate place to come and help. She resides after RY5 near the 'Collection' portal between the Rookery and Ranch - a spot made so that strays like herself wouldn't wind up randomly in Combine hands. This is as good a spot as any for a dragon healer to set up shop!
