Name: Noah, the All Seeing Vort, Zurr'chakt kurr'chackt bim tash vech 'he who balances future and past to teach others'

Gender: Male

Age/DOB: rumored to be more than 20 thousand years old (this rumor is true)

Origin: born on the Repurposed Vort homeworld, among the only living Vorts that are still able to remember their world directly

Family: A good number of the still-living Vorts (in the Repurposed universe) are likely related to him

Other: Noah used to be a member of a Vortal council, and still is tapped for naming and other ceremonial duties, however a lot of the 'middle aged' Vorts don't like him at all; he also was responsible for tending the young, and truly enjoys doing so with Human children. Since Rookery Earth actually still has its female Vorts, though, there might be more little babies for him to work with once more

Height: 6' at full possible, but it's been thousands of years since Noah has been able to stand up taller than maybe 5' at best

Weight: around 160, with a bit of a pot-belly and a lot of that must be wrinkled skin, because he clearly has that...

Hair: are Vorts properly mammalian? Well, he has no hair, and probably wouldn't even if they did, because he's older than dirt and it would be coming out his ears and nose instead of being on his head.

Eyes: Red, four of them, a bit cloudy

Appearance: Redder and with clear evidence of age, than most Vorts, even other older ones. He has some amount of scarring around his wrists, due to long chafing physical bindings worn under Nihilanth's reign. Mostly Noah looks and sounds his age, he's like a wrinkly puppy crossed with that crazy old man up the street who has the best candy for Halloween and stories to tell in a rambling, sometimes coughing voice

Genetic Abilities: As with most Vortigaunts, Noah has an extremely strong Vortal presence, able to see auras - perhaps too well, perhaps he sees nothing but those at times? His connection to the Vortal realm is strongest among the group, and he communicates with those who've moved into the Vortal realm freely. What he does with the information and visions he has is usually in the form of naming individuals, or spreading cryptic discussion points among humans and Vorts alike. He can 'tune' individuals to specific Vortal frequencies, allowing communication between them, this is a more brute-force method than, say, Tina's, where she takes existing auras and ties them together briefly - he actively moves them and they return to normal at some unspecified point later. He can heal and manipulate healing energies masterfully, but it is exhausting to him so he rarely does this. Along with this skill however is his ability to sense physical states - pregnancy, injury, parasites, disease - and comments on those things without needing to expend any energy. He is able to utilize Antlion larval extract, which improves his range and psychic power use exponentially, with a level of exhaustion afterwards. He also has a sense of language that only Lane does better: while he can't speak all the languages he hears, Noah easily understands them, and often translates into and out of Vortigese, using English primarily, and some Russian as he's picked that up.
Skills or Profession: Antlion observation (he's too old to actually do much more) and harvesting of extract, being mysterious and annoying, coughing a lot, spewing multilingual wisdom, cackling madly at things no one else can see. Actually Noah is quite good with children, of any breed - Vort, Human, no matter their Vortal presence or lack thereof - and they seem to enjoy listening to him. He would never knowingly impart dangerous or false information to them, but sometimes his words are a little vague or easily misinterpreted. In his prime, Noah could wrangle antlions with the best of them, and was known as a teacher and protector of the young, and he's at least still able to do some of those things even now. Though he has a place in the Rookery, he tends to reside at Lane Mansion down in the older basement areas, and wandering the gardens in the farm area beyond.

Personality and History: As above, he's pretty cryptic and weird, repeats himself between Vort and English (he doesn't change the meanings, he doesn't try to deceive with one and not the other). He putters and inspects things with the wobbly hand that only an incredibly ancient being could, and he rarely finds things actually lacking - rather he likes new items and people, and delights in meeting refugees and their children. Though the parents are usually a bit weirded out, they always notice that their kids adore this weird old alien, as he's remarkably tolerant of their antics. He is also quite the rebel - early in his life he insisted that he be the one to guard their young, a typically female role, but because many of their females in his 'tribe' were needed for other duties, they agreed. And when, around twelve thousand years ago, he met with a Vortal entity from the Convocation, this Vort had the audacity to give him a name. He also was among those who made deals with Kallah Vahh, including the one which forced their kind into slavery to Nihilanth and moved to Xen because of it. He was not favored by most of his kind for a long while, due to that. But he also has then proceeded to instruct the inheritor of the Mystery, Paxton Fettel, as well, he just cannot stop messing with those Convocation people... Now that they're on another entirely different Earth - and his people may yet be saved from extinction - his kin are looking to this ancient doddery kook as something of a prophet, rather than a pariah.

Currently, while he is also found among the Rookery, he and Bethoi both teach at Carramba High School. Noah teaches Mars and Venus Culture 2, 3; Naming and the Power of True Names 4, 7; Non-Human/Astral Languages 5, 8. When he is not instructing (and sometimes when he is) he's also often enough tending non-human young. Bethoi is instructing Draconic Literature 1, 4, 5, 8; and Vortal/Verbal Communications 2, 3, 7.

Dragon

Name: Bethoi Kwaturr, beh thoi kwa turr, ancient mother
Gender: Female
Size/Shoulder/Length: Huge, 17' hip bipedal / 75' l / 128' ws
Colors: cream and medium warm grey, body and limbs primarily cream with small lozenge-shaped grey marks that are also filled with intricate pale grey-silver filigree, start of tail has two grey rings before fading into grey; finger tips and tail tips have very slender banding of grey or pale silver; wingsails underside are warm grey with complex filigree of pale silver, while the back side is creamy pink sunset shade slightly brighter on tips by fingers; orbs are warm grey; eyes appear to be clouded over but are likely silver
Features: Wyvern with two long bipedal legs, 2 wing-arms; extremely long whip tail, extremely large wings; scaled hide with heavy armor plating on all body and neck/head area, absent on all limbs; 3-toed talon feet with very long toes that can grasp around things, heel claw, 4-fingered leather wings with claw-bearing thumb on wrist, fingers visible both surfaces, wing connects from shoulder all the way to midway down tail; head and face have extensive armor frills on chin, jaw, between eyes, and along crest of neck - note that these also sport independently floating 'orbs', external ears, nostrils, and small eyebrow-horns; heavy jaw; extended armor frills on tops of hind legs also have floating orbs; smaller curved spikes along lower back and upper tail
Powers: Winged Flight, even at her extreme age and size, Bethoi is notably strong in flight and can travel distances that other smaller dragons don't even dream of. She is not fast in the air, quite deliberate, actually, but then at her size who cares, you'll see her coming and that's the last thing you'll see... She is surprisingly delicate on landing and take off, somehow lifting into the air practically without wind, and silently on landing except for the rustling of her wingsails. Obviously, she can carry quite a bit of weight if needed, but no one in their right mind would ever ask her to.
Dimensional Teleportation, she brought her offspring to Xen for a reason. She can sneak up on things using this power, but unlike her flight it does leave a wake where she vanishes, and a large shockwave when she arrives. She uses that shockwave to her advantage, bowling over anything smaller than a bus in the process of arrival. It's unknown whether she tires from doing this, but she does only seem to use it when people are in danger or she feels it needed. She can also teleport anything near her along with, whatever she could lay her wings over, so that's quite a bit. She does not have to move between dimensions to teleport though, so sometimes you'll see her miles away in the air, and next miles away on the other side, just poof.
Verbal and Vortal Communication, Bethoi speaks, like she does with everything else, deliberately and with tremendous ease as well as power. She Flux Shifts with Vorts, but also sings whalesong, hummingbird, and English or other human tongues with equal ability. (She thinks her offspring need to practice, but then it's the equivalent of singing falsetto when you're born baritone.) Notably though, only a handful of people - Vort, Human, or Dragon - are brave enough to talk to her. Usually she speaks first and last in a conversation, if she's not merely observing - she'll inform people of dangers or incoming weather patterns. But she would like it if people would brave up and talk to her, she has much to impart. The children that hang out with Noah are only a little bit afraid of her, so she sings to them in her bizarre language that even Keenan doesn't know. Note too that her bond to Noah is as much friendship as it is kinship - they are both the eldest of their species by far, and both have quite similar experiences that they frequently share Vortally.
Telekinesis, those little orbs can move away from her at tremendous speeds, or respond to her emotions by hovering or moving around independantly. She can use them as weapons, but tends not to, because she claims that they're a bit difficult to clean if they get dirty.
Parentage: unknown mate or ancestors, but her offspring include Vih'den ahlXen, bonded to Paxton, and has been part of the project creating Voy'urr for Peregrine
Origin: adopted from missnightstalker on Deviantart
Other Info: Note that in the image below Noah is 'riding' her, but... yeah he is WAY too fragile to do that with any ease. He can and has ridden Bethoi, but that is a rarity and usually comes only as a last resort if he really needs to get somewhere right now. They are incredibly good friends, and can relate not only to each other, but their experiences are almost disturbingly alike. If they were more talkative in general, they'd finish each others sentences and be considered more like twins than partners in crime.
