Powers	Strong Psychic Suite -- Invasive Telepathy used within 50 meters mostly, but he can read even the most concealed inner thoughts of living things, as well as send deeply embedded communication, often showing up in dreams instead of waking minds; he's a bit brash in that regard, and like his grandfathers, he ... kind of ignores complaints and warnings about it (and is only barely passing his Telepathy class for this reason). -- Empathy, a close range but highly tuned emotion sense, anything that displays emotion including constructed AI or non-organic life is sensed. Around 20 minds is his limit for this, and he does sometimes become a bit overwhelmed by crowds if they're very energetic emotionally. He avoids pep rallies for this reason. He cannot control emotions, but the stronger they are, the farther away he can sense them, up to a weak 50 meters, strongest with touch or proximity. -- Aura Sense Leif is remarkably good with Vortal Auras, and auras in general of things which have been altered or used by magical, Vortal, or psionic entities. His mother has trained him in the use of this ability and he has words for colors no one else can see but them. The stronger the person or impression, the brighter these auras are, and he can detect entire planets if he squints into the night sky (well, he would easily be able to find Zekira in the skies, if they were in the same dimension as him). Mostly however, he has learned to tune out all the background noise unless he needs to filter through it, and he can see very clear impressions of power use, individual people's auras if they're strong, at up to 1 km away. With proximity he can determine exactly the kinds of powers that someone may have access to, be they magical, Vortal, or psionic. Additionally however, he can change these - which leads to a very unusual power. Aura Masking / Swapping with his ability to detect auras, Leif is also able to manipulate them, and in a small group of people who have powers of any kind (even if they're not the same 'origin') he can swap them around. Effectively he can 'cover up' another person's aura, or even make it look like someone else's. The side effect of this, is that temporarily that person can actually DO those things. They aren't necessarily any good at it, but if there is a mage with fire powers, and a Zekiran with psionics for psychometry, he can swap them out so that Zekiran has fireballs at the ready, and the mage can sense the history of items they touch. This is something Leif actually does 'ask first' before doing to people, unless it's an emergency, and those have come up. He can 'swap' a 'blank' aura over a very powerful person, and because he is among the most gifted kids in the Rookery (descended from two lines of Keenan Lane has its perks) only another remarkably powerful person could tell that this has been done. These effects are temporary, lasting up to 8 hours if he just lets it sit, but he can also concentrate on keeping them active much longer, up to 2 days, refreshing the aura as needed. He can also 'duplicate' these auras, and imprint them onto normal people - meaning that one Vortally active stone shaper's power could be 'rubber stamped' onto a team (up to 4) of normal people, who then can help assemble that bridge or building in record time. Teleportation Leif is quite fast on the draw, that's because he cheats with teleportation. This seems effortless, he can travel up to 100 meters in a jaunt seemingly forever, though he does have limits. He cannot travel more than 1km unless he concentrates, and that he can only do once an hour or so depending on how rested he is. He relies more on his door ability if he needs to travel farther. Vortal Doorways Any door can be the right door. On-site (the same dimension or planet) local locations can be connected by the use of one of his Vortal portals. Leif can connect two spots (only two) with a door, and this door can remain open for about 15 minutes before it closes on its own. It cannot be 'wedged' open but it can be closed manually. While he can and does open the occasional interdimensional doorway, the only one that he can reliably connect to from 'anywhere' is his dorm at the Rookery. And occasionally Xen, he sometimes has to 'correct' a door if it accidentally opens to that dimension instead (which is about a 1 in 20 chance until he figures out how to do it... and even then, 1 in 100 will always be a Xen portal). Notably, combining his ability to open Vortal doors, with his Aura power, he is able to easily construct his own locations that take inspiration from any given place or person's imagination. They don't last beyond when he leaves them, but he can call these up repeatedly, since he's manipulating his own energy for them.

Skills	Connect The Dots, um, Doors +3 if there's a real door around, he'll open it and see what's on the other side. If it's boring, he'll shut it, and reopen it and there'll be something way cooler in there. Broom closet? Boring. Battlefield? Bam! Limited as above, but he remembers all the doors and all their destinations. Amazing Memory +3, he needs it. While his memory isn't photographic or eidetic, he definitely can recall details about people, places, and numbers very well. Team Effort +2 Leif is a natural leader, though he likes to have other people around him who are better at it, and doesn't mind being a lieutenant to someone else's general.

The second of two children, born while Teala was a toddler in their Vortal Construct, Leif - or, as his color designation would call him, 'leaf' green - takes greatly after their father Turquoise. He is strongly gifted with the 'psychic suite' of mental abilities, and doesn't have as much of the 'electrical' nature as his sister. As they grew up together he was always slightly more physical, he's taller and built more muscular than Teala, so that follows. This was all only apparent after he started shooting up in height around age eleven.

In his youth, however, Leif followed in his sister's footsteps, right through portals and doorways, into the unknown with wide eyes and an open mind. He would climb into cabinets and come out in another dimension, which made games of hide and seek with him ... challenging. Though he wasn't precisely the kind of kid you'd need to put a harness and leash on, that was only because Teala was able to follow him into those child-sized portals he made.

Even grandpa Keenan is impressed with his abilities, and not just his dimensionality. Being able to read Vortal auras so thoroughly that he can manipulate them is something that precious few Pantheon or even his own breed the Convocation can do. At first just masking his own presence from view - Vortal or otherwise - but later figuring out how to duplicate Teala's energetic aura, these things are ones he will be able to exploit when he gets going against the Combine or virtually any other enemy. Woe to anyone he wants to gang up on, really.

Leif learned how to follow Vortal trails, left mainly by his sister, but sometimes by his parents, or other visitors to their construct-home. Though he's spectacular at hiding in those games, when he seeks... he wins. Every time. Observant and clever, sometimes less careful than he ought to be, Leif has a love of exploration that cannot be stopped.

When they announced the siblings would be going to Carramba High for their more conventional education, Leif was thrilled. He'd heard Turquoise talk about the place, and was over the moon when they did get to tour it for their orientation. Though he'd been home-schooled with Teala and afforded specific downloaded skills for language, basics such as early math and science, and some small amount of local history (local... to Rookery Earth that is) he quickly took to the more structured and social nature of a conventional high school.

The only classes that he and his sister share are Nexus Geohistory and Cartography, and he is quite good at both of those subjects. They independantly achieve very good scores in either of them, and since their notes and presentations are often quite different, no one can suggest they cheat off one another.

He enjoys reading advanced literature in his Honors English class, though he does have to admit that while it's not 'boring', it's definitely not 'relevant' to his family or their needs. Miss d'Ouberville has had words with Leif's parents regarding his... rather aggressive use of telepathy, even in her class, and though he gets technically good scores on testing for it, in practice - he is definitely up in people's brains way too often.

Where all of his real concentration goes, is into a suite of classes that he feels are connected. From his Urban Exploration class where he learns how to physicall traverse modern cities and ruins alike, to the unusual Time Travel Mapping course that allows him to both show off and exploit existing mechanical devices to travel... To the Personal Space Creation class taught by grandpa Lane, he adds in a decent mixture of skills taken from his Interior Design class. He's visited Keenan's personal constructs often enough to understand that some people have style, and others... not so much.

And yeah, that means he's gone into grampa Lane's personal space and actively judged it lacking in detail... Because it is. Let's call it 'bland'. Though Leif is not going to be getting awards for his own use of decorative design, he's certainly not going to slap up a couple walls and an indistinct ceiling and call it 'done'. He wants a little more flair, and he has a wide variety of 'subjects' that he can take that inspiration from when he's doing his own Constructs.

His after-school efforts border on 'superheroics', since he can use his Aura Masking ability to move powers around - the local Supers council has been watching him for a while, and if he doesn't do something else with his life (well, dragons? they can coexist with superheroics as far as they're concerned) they would love it if he'd come and train young heroes in teamwork and understanding one another's powers.

Did you say dragons? Why yes. Grandpa Lane's wonderful little black dragon Denhadarvahth participated in a mating event that has led to a lot of little eggs, that will surely produce a lot of little dragons. Will one of them be for him or his sister? Maybe both? Hopefully both! Leif is excited to go to Isla, he's enjoyed the additional courses for learning about dragon anatomy and health, their communication, and their travel powers.
