Dragon Neelua
(Donor Parent) Baeris Kshau
(Siblings) Viridian, Lapiz

Hyacinth enjoys her time with Neelua, though like many of her mother's children she does better in the air than in the water. That said, she has never been one to deny her Neelua the spritzing and water play that he deserves! In fact she knows he is absolutely delighted when she sends him to the car wash. (Yes, the car wash. With no suds of course, unless he's really filthy! Though he's not adverse to the idea of being waxed!)

She can use his sensitive nose to help discern poisons and unhealthy tissue, and from her he's gained a stronger understanding of what makes Humans and other bipeds work.

Neelua is loud, really loud, when he wants to be. But he usually can be heard making any number of sounds to himself - this is because he's sounding out his surroundings and keeping tabs on the people he can't directly see. He can in fact 'hear' them through walls if those walls aren't properly insulated from such things. At some point he will likely be needed to use that ability in ruins or large structures to detect weak spots or if there are hidden traps. Hyacinth isn't too hot on letting him do that, since he can't fly or teleport someone else would have to bring him to those sites, and they're going to be uniformly far away from water sources.

His serious-business face belies a sense of humor, even though very few people (or dragons) get to see it. He's really not above doing a massive splash, or exploding out of the water with a big sonic boom. While he can't actually manipulate the water with any kind of Vortal power, his abilities with sound and vibrations more than make up for that. He can create ripples, patterns, small waves, and even whirlpools with a combination of his sound and swimming prowess.

Dragon Neelua, "shining below the surface", literally ne'ell ua 'he who is slick and submerged'
Description

Male

Cornflower blue, violet, denim blue spots

Small (chonky) 6' shoulder / 35' long / no wings

Aquatic primarily, but easily adapts to moist ground, requires at least moisture if not full immersion; pawed, clawed feet, wingless, pointed tail, sides of neck/head and rump spine have webbed sails (are mobile but not strong, for added speed or maneuverability in water they can be angled as a bird's tail)

Water adaptation (immune to drowning, mostly immune to cold, requires water or moisture), mostly immune to liquid toxins/poisons, apparently immune to radiation but can carry it if heavily irradiated; Verbal and Vortal speech (telepathy with bond, empathy with others, speaks English, several draconic languages, and that of underwater species with intelligence); Sonic senses (vibration, echolocation, even sonagram-like detail with practice), sonic attack (extremely loud / strong sound wave, made for stunning prey under water, can be equated to a full pack of Hound-eyes going off at once); Sensitive 'nose' (in air, can discern nearly any chemical compound, in water is more geared toward blood and muck)

Serious, but well-meaning. Neelua lurks in the Rookery lake along with the other water-born dragons, but also enjoys his time at Carramba's 'deep water' pool. He prefers the natural lake more because of the inhabitants, but says the cleaning chemicals in the pool aren't really a bother. Because he is befriended by Hyacinth, he has been in training with her to do detailed health care work. He can 'hum' in order to detect the internal organs of a being, and transfer any interesting findings to his bond - broken bones, pregnancy, tumors and the like. He can also use his sensitive sniffer to detect a wide variety of things both in the air and in water, so he knows if something's fallen into the pond, or if there's a Combine patrol driving past their territory.
