Transformation Sequence and Darkness Powers - She is always a goth. If however she wants to 'fit in' with the rest of the APEX Rangers, she does a little bit of a performance while her nimble fingers twist the rings she's got on, which allows her to select a new outfit from her extensive closet of gear. This closet isn't on Twoarth. It's also possible that this closet of 'hers' is the back room of a Hot Topic shop or something similar. Sometimes, when she's swaying to an unheard or unholy beat, swishing her skirt or tilting on tall soled boots, she will accidentally change into an outfit of bright pink or rainbow shades with cartoon character logos and memes on them, and you need to Forget You Saw That right now. It only takes a moment, and she can alter her appearance effectively at will, at any time, though usually she keeps active outfits for their outings, and pretty frilly ones for everyday use.

Corinne is gifted with a set of rings which she... found, somewhere on her family's land back home 'wherever that is'. At first she wasn't sure whether they were magical, but when she had encountered them at age 6 she wasn't really ready to 'use' them properly, so apparently they didn't do much. Until the Things started coming out of the darkness and woodland nearby, whereupon she braved up and outright punched one of those Things square on the face with her balled up fist with two gaudy red rings on her fingers. Now fairly, even if someone else were to pick up those rings and try them on, nothing would happen. They are tied to her bloodline and won't do a thing other than look 'cool'. But when she's wearing them they have a wide variety of abilities all of which seem to have a dark, gritty, or terrifying aspect in some way, whether it is visually or in concept and mood. Anyone who has the power to view auras, see psychic energies, or divine visions, will spot this as a direct tie to the afterlife and the void (maybe even The Void? It's quite possible she is from the World? We'll have to ask Levi).

-- Terror Radius, Corinne's very presence is, with or without any ring being 'activated', a powerful one. She does glow or more accurately the light around her dims and bends, like it's afraid to touch her. She's pretty, she's strong, agile, healthy. And just scares the shit out of anyone with the sense in their head to connect the dots. Her connection to the underworld or Void is quite strong, and it bleeds out around her in a very tangible manner. Coming too close to her if she doesn't want you near, means cold sweats and intense shivering, almost like standing in a meat locker chill - to the bone, teeth-clattering cold. Looking into her eyes, those gorgeous hot-coal ember orange eyes, normally a shade of 'ripe tangerine' if she's feeling friendly, will burn straight into your soul and perhaps sear it a little just to keep the juices inside... This radius is about 2 meters, people try to keep arms length from her in general but only because they're afraid and not because she's being cruel or actively hates people

-- Forget You Saw That, with a little grip of her hands, anything recently seen, within about 20 seconds, is instantly glossed over and forgotten a while later. This does only work on living creatures, but any living creature, or formerly living, as it works on zombies and undead, are affected. Cameras and recordings are entirely unaffected, though people who are currently watching whatever it was at that moment on a screen will also be affected, the video tape will not, and can be safely viewed later. She does know this, so she tries to make sure of where any security footage might be...

-- You Really Can't See This, a more preventative measure than forgetting what already happened, Corinne can cause existing shadows to grow and envelop an area, completely obscuring anything within it, while still being able to see out from inside. This moves with her or at her command if she's not inside it, she can cast it over a volume of a 10x10x10 cube, or equitably down a long hall to obscure only the walls for quite some ways, or individual people adding up to that volume to selectively remove them from sight. Those who can see or detect such energies will detect that this is happening, but unless they have some kind of divine light to see through it, even those who know it's there won't be able to pry into the darkness. It lasts with concentration, so if there's ever a darkened corner in a classroom or a sudden dimming of a spotlight on stage, that's her, taking care of something unseen

-- Insecure Footing, literally drawing dark hands and gripping limbs, tentacles or bone shapes come rising out of the ground below an enemy's feet, rooting them to the spot. Usually also this touch causes the same effect as her Radius, a bone-chilling terror and surity that you will die if you move comes over a victim. She can hold just one person out of a very large crowd, or the entire crowd on an area about the size of a basketball or volleyball court. It lasts for no longer than 1 minute, but she can re-cast it quickly after that in case of larger or more difficult enemies. 'Boss' level enemies may take several applications, and she can also apply concentration to this task focusing her will on it to double the effects but not the size or duration of the power

-- Flee! Flee!, with crowd control like this, who needs riots? She can cast a 10' wide 'scary' spot, and anything (as above, living or once-living) that is within 20 meters of it will become so afraid that they must leave the area immediately. She makes sure that there are no stragglers, that all small children are picked up and taken by their guardians, that animals don't get left behind. But beyond that, she can (and probably has) cause a ripple of fear to spread across a boulevard that allows her to clear the streets of several city blocks with only one application. The scary spot lasts around 1.5 minutes and fades abruptly, but the effects continue until no one is around to see it. It howls and screams with underworld inspired wailing, but cannot move beyond its casting location

-- It Is A Place, Not A Place You Want To Be, the Void or whichever locale she's got access to here, is very, very terrifying particularly to those who should be judged. And she can send a person there, even if it's only for about 10 seconds, that's 10 seconds of their life which simply left them entirely. The empty and lonely howling of spirits ill at ease, the edge of madness, the sense of forever-alone... that is the source of her power, and if she needs to cleanse you of your wrong ways, she'll drop you into the Void and bring you back... changed, one might hope. Really hope. Because if she has to do it again she won't reel you back in. Notably this is how she got to Carramba, by going through the Void... Whether she wants to use it to go back home, who knows

Clusters 24

Staggering Willpower And Presence +5 Corinne is without a doubt one of the most powerful people you'll ever meet, though whether that's because she wants you to think that or because she actually does deal with the Void directly no one knows. The effect however is that anyone that easily bends the will of that Void to suit her own needs is someone you Do Not Fuck With. Any ability or skill that she needs to work on is done with strength of purpose, confidence, the force of an infinite supply of energy at her beckoned call. If you need to convince someone to do something, she'd be happy to 'help'. She 'rules through fear' not necessarily out of love or adoration or even respect, but those things do fall into place once you get to know her personally

Psychology Expert +3 She casually understands the ways that people behave, and has purposefully put that to use in her everyday work. While she certainly can claim to be on the track for becoming a psychologist professionally, she will definitely need to work on the whole 'terrifying' thing if she wants repeat patients. More likely, however, she'll be the one in charge of keeping dangerous people cowed into submission without being actually harmed - there are still plenty of dangerous people, who unlike her, are bent on harming others...

Skills 18

Gratifyingly Gothic +3 Not just in terms of pretty clothes all in black or that frilly leather look, Corinne knows the history of how clothing styles evolved, as well as the cultural impact that they have on people long after they were in fashion. She's very good with costuming and applying makeup, and you WILL sit still while she does your perfect wing liner... It is likely that her power to bring clothing to herself can eventually be applied to others, but she wants to figure out exactly where those bubblegum and butterfly designs are showing up and get them out of her closet

Memory For Faces +3 Artistically speaking Corinne would be able to properly sketch those criminals based on a few words, more because she can use that eyeliner and does know how bone structure affects the way an eyebrow fluffs up. She can clearly recall details about people's posture, their teeth, how they blink a lot or eyes bug out, capturing their essences in sketches of charcoal and mechanical pencil idly while she's eating lunch at the Caffetorium; this can become a professional skill, she's no slouch or hobby artist

Finds New Rings +3 Somehow, whenever she is out and about, if she happens upon a discarded or lost ring and puts it on, it's almost guaranteed to become - or have been - magically endowed. Fairly, her collection of family-inherited rings are quite stylish, but newer types are always welcome because she doesn't need a specific ring to do specific tricks. They all behave for her based on her commands, not just 'this ring makes you invisible, that ring grabs feet'. These rings are foci and catalysts for her power, coming through them and shaped by her will, so if she needs a pretty silver and ruby ring for a particular effect, it'll perform the same as her obsidian and titanium ones while on her fingers. Once she has claimed this ring, it is as if it's always been in her bloodline's possession, so if someone else thinks it was theirs, she'll just find a way to keep it because it won't work for them anyway...

Knacks 3

A Touch Greedy, A Little Possessive -3 Corinne wasn't an only child, but she definitely acts like she wanted to be. And like many with older or younger siblings, Corinne's behavior around items that she wants is rather off-putting. If she's given something, she will protect it fiercely. If she doesn't want it, only then will she offer it as a gift or to a group for their use. It's as if some sibling yanked away her gifts, her toys, or her clothes? Maybe, or maybe she's just a little bitchy...

A Better Cook Than You +3 All of her food is spicy, and some amount of it might nullify your birth control or meds so don't eat that blackened stuff - it's made with so much charcoal or dye that it'll interfere with them. But they're tasty black cakes, deliciously blackened shrimp, by far the best burnt-looking fried chicken... it's baffling to the cooks on campus that any of this comes out as tasty as it is, given that it invariably looks like it's going to be a smoldering mess on coming from the oven

Does Protect Her Friends +3 Never let it be said that Corinne doesn't have friends. She does, and she values them like she values her rings - she wants to keep them, safe and sound, and will go to lengths to do that. Just... don't get on her bad side. Everyone knows her bad side untill the get to know her; one quick way is to compliment her cooking! And if, on the rare occasion, someone doesn't get affected by her Terror Radius, and just comes straight up to her in the hall and hugs her, she'll definitely hug right back

Parents?

Alive, probably, maybe. Somewhere on another world, on their nice big plantation-style wildly overgrown property in what's likely a huge dilapidated mansion...

** Yes, this is on the World, in Morley actually, so not so much 'south' as 'east' but in the Isles its the attitude that matters and that's definitely where her attitude comes from. She has a potential space on the Void Travelers roster but is a student here for good

Siblings? As above, seems to have at least one sibling, possibly more, and they might or might also be dead; don't speculate about whether she killed them, they might have started out that way when she was born, don't judge.
