Transformation Sequence and Fire Elemental Power - Flashy is a good term to describe Reshmina's transformation from street-clothes into her more heroic guise. Whether she's actually burning her clothes off or it's just an illusion, who knows? She has a lot of clothing, so it is entirely possible that she just goes through a lot of fairly cheap cotton outfits... They begin to brightly snap into flames at the edges, wrist and ankle first, and eventually she is almost consumed by a short but bright and quickly moving line of fire. When the faint smoke clears she's wearing her lovely silken and leather gear (it had more leather straps and buckles but her mother absolutely noped on that and at least with that discussion she agreed it was a touch over the top), and this particular outfit seems to not burn off by the spare flames she often has on her person. This transformation takes only about 2 seconds, poof you missed it, and the flames of this particular use do not feel hot or damage anything else (leading to wonder whether it's just an illusion or a form of more advanced teleportation). However her brilliant white tattoos are permanent, per her own description, "they will match my fire, some day." And it's entirely possible they will, as she has incredibly good control over her element.

Since she is likely the descendant of Firebenders she has a wider variety of abilities than 'just' open flames. It's coupled with traditional martial arts, that, while they certainly help her focus her mind and gather her wits, are not actively required for any of her individual uses or effects. Her weakness to watery power or icy environments is not as impactful here on the sunny SoCal coast, but she definitely feels the cold more than some. Her power is strongest midsummer and weakest midwinter, and yes it flares up during a solar eclipse. She can be stopped by 'ki-interrupt' powers, though with her abilities and martial arts practice she can avoid nearly any physical attack that would hit the nerves needed to temporarily stun her. Notably she can extinguish flames of any sort, not just her own, at will, and light simple candles or gas burning stove tops equally without even thinking about it. If there is a big fire, she must concentrate, but can eventually dampen even a full bonfire within half a minute.

-- Shield Of The Sun, by turning her arms in an expanding wheel motion she can establish a nearly-2 meter oval or round flaming surface that moves with her and keeps her protected on whatever side she needs. It hovers about knee to head level, and she can duck under or behind it, it moves instinctively with her needs. This shield obviously is dangerous to touch so melee opponents must think twice about trying to reach her around it, and it can burn many projectiles in mid-air though if they're going very fast or if they're not particularly easy to melt, they may get through. This shield also does not prevent any energy damage from lasers, concussion, or stronger flame/electricity from getting to her (which is partly why she intends to bring the 'color' of her flames to white - that's the color of electrical power). It lasts around 2 to 3 minutes depending on her exhaustion level and will peter out on its own after 3 full minutes of use. This power may evolve into a 'Wall Of Flame' shapeable to encircle larger areas, but she has not yet mastered that

-- Ring Of Fire, Reshmina can cast a circle of very hot knee-high flames around an enemy, effectively pinning them to that spot unless they are capable of resisting the heat and burns. Up to 6 individuals in a close area can be encircled, or one large group of up to 10 if they're quite close together, though a larger group might stand a better chance to get away from it by leaping over one another and therefore the flames. This flame circle will remain for up to 2 full minutes and when it is dispelled or vanishes on its own there will only be a little bit of soot where it had been, no lasting property damage except if it's dry brush...

-- Overheat, this ability creates a bubble of extremely warm air in a sphere around 4 meters across, able to cover several people or a large creature, or fill a volume very quickly with heat. Good for warming up early-morning gym locker rooms, or causing people wearing heavy armor to pass out from exhaustion. If you just stop drop and roll you can avoid this, but people rarely understand that heat rises and so does this... The ground is usually much cooler, but until you've passed out under it, you won't even know. She can recast this numerous times to heat a larger area, or keep it up for about 5 minutes overall

-- Float On The Updraft, she looks like she is floating in her image because she is floating. She has mastered a more passive Overheat ability that lets her take advantage of the silk garments and perhaps a little more magic than that, to zip through the air or above enemies with ease. She is remarkably graceful in the air, though she will sometimes forget that she isn't on the ground and might get knocked over, breaking the effect. She can lift or help lift other people in this manner, generally with aid from the air-bender types as they can blow that heated air where it's needed, and boost where she might not be able to reach. This power can be turned on and off at will, and doesn't seem to cost any endurance even during a fight

-- Fire Arrow, with great precision, Reshmina is able to point and shoot short but very hot bursts of flame that resemble arrows with flaming tips. She can fire off a dozen of these in short order within a 10 second span, or quite a lot more than that if she does it more sparingly over the course of a minute or so. They can physically impact and burst into sparks which set flammables alight, including hair, clothing, papers, light wood, and definitely gasses in the area where they land. While you'd think it's easier to dodge something that you can see coming, the fact is that they are homing: because once she's decided on a target that is the target it will hit! Though the damage isn't all that much for one hit, 1 Bonk on a living thing, the side danger of setting things on fire means that if you're hit, you're going to want to stop getting hit, as this will continue to do 1 Bonk every few seconds until it's manually put out somehow

Firebending Martial Arts +4 As practiced for generation upon generation in her family, she has learned from both her mother and father, and also her mother's brother, how to control and refine her mind and body. They are a little disconcerted that she can just 'do' most of her advanced powers simply by concentrating, at such a young age? Typically that comes from decades of practice! But she is elegant in the air and on the ground, and she still enjoys the repetitive and soothing workouts that they do in their home dojo as well as on campus for classes. She can also judge another's martial arts move set, understanding what schools of elements or even schools of weapons and backgrounds that are used by those here on Twoarth, though she rarely incorporates those into her own routine since they appear to serve little purpose for her. One thing she does intend to learn, is that ki-blocking stuff. Since it poses an active danger to her abilities, she feels that knowing it inside and out will help avoid it in the future

Fashion and Function +4 Reshmina is named for the silks that she wears, and she wears those silks because they are a family business! Her family's silk trade flourishes here on Twoarth, welcome among the fashion houses locally to Crescent City and now up in Talon City with the goal of Hollywood beyond! Not only does she know how to select and breed the silkworms that they use for their raw materials, but she is familiar with the age-old traditions of how silk is actually made, gross though it can sometimes be. They also have interests in plant- and mineral-based colors and dyes, wax for the individual dye patterning, and the like. She isn't as good at manually operating the looms or machines, but she does serve as an excellent model and judge of colors. A side-venture that her mother does approve of, is that of clothing for heroics, for more durable silk gear that will look good and also protect, similarly to ancient layered armors

Traditional With A Twist +3 While she definitely appreciates the efforts of her ancestry, they live in a different world now, with different expectations. While she's likely to retire into the family silk and fashion trade, Reshmina is clearly suited to life in a more modern culture and taps her roots to ground herself in it. A good knowledge of local culture has given her an edge that her more staunch mom and uncle don't have, with the 'younger' generation, and she'll incorporate lessons from their youth into her own discussions or debates at school. She also likes to dress up as 'characters' from their historical teachings, not for mockery but to help impart their lessons even to herself

Fine Details And Accuracy +3 For assessing the quality of their loom's cloth, the particular shade of a dye or pigment, or shooting exactly the part she's intending to hit, Reshmina is capable and confident in her visual accuity and hand-eye coordination. While she can't necessarily tell the difference between a 100 and 120 weave just with her fingers like her father can, she can spot an error in a cloth quickly enough to get it fixed before it ruins the rest. Her attacks both close range and distant are accurate almost to a fault, when she tries pulling punches or 'only' hitting near a target, often enough she'll either entirely miss or hit something more important instead... She's practiced enough that 'hitting it means hitting it!'

Burning Desires, Also On Fire +/-3 She is definitely friendly and fun to be around, kind and protective, and has a degree of compassion that is impressive for a Firebender. That said, she's on fire and thus frequently enough she gets the cold-shoulder from folks that she wants to get closer to because they're afraid she might hurt them; until they know she won't do that, not consciously anyway, she tends to have difficulty making very-new friends

Is A Bit Pricey +3 She loves the finer things in life, from the silks and rich dyes from her own family's shops, to spiced foods and pretty jewlery. Though she does come from a wealthy background, she has had to be talked down from using their business as a bank, so she knows she has to actually work for her allowance - high though it is. But that said, she will offer to donate time, effort, goods, and services to people who need them, and makes sure to write it all down for their business' tax writeoffs in the ledgers

Siblings? Has one older brother who graduated from CHS and is directly involved with their business, and two younger siblings, the sister will be entering Freshman year when Reshmina graduates, and the youngest brother in another two years after that

Reshmina and the others in her team knew that the days would come for each of them - this campus was filled with people who had strange powers or exotic origins, but some of them also had been introduced to dragons. The APEX RANGERS would likely become a whole team of riders, or maybe with dragons as their own separate team?

Well it would certainly happen some day, but for now, Reshmina had been approached by someone that handed her and the others pamphlets. "Lantessama," she said, her accent was more exotic than most, but didn't entirely resemble the 'hindi' she appeared. "There are dragons who might suit me," then she looked at Luciano and tilted her head, "and perhaps you?"

He sort of looked at her like she was a bit crazy, but then flipped around the notes for each clutch. He frowned a bit, "well, not the water one," and Reshmina laughed musically.

"Of course not, silly, the one with dragons who have mastered fire. And we," she indicated herself and the tall teen, "are very fiery, aren't we?"
