Welcome to the Talon City Fire Station! Fire Fighters There are eight full-time and fully trained Fire Response members of 108. Each of them is valuable for their skills in battling wildfires, house and structure fires, and are experts at handling the machinery and vehicles needed for their jobs. In addition to the full time eight, there are three others who are either temporarily training with this crew, or are in a 'youth job corps' program. They will not be listed since they are often needed elsewhere and are not old enough to be involved in the crew's major functions yet. While it may seem that the "eldest are the top ranking" that is not always true for the whole station. However in this case, in general, those with the most experience do in fact have the highest rank within the organization. The duties of this section of FS108 are primarily that of fighting fires. They have three vehicles on hand in their portion of this large station. First is the three-axle Truck - nicknamed Bertha (because she requires such a wide berth to rest in!), next is the smaller two-axel Engine (which is new and hasn't yet warranted a name, but they're working on it), and third is the battalion chief's vehicle. Don't mess with Steele's truck. There are several other on-site vehicles, but these three are the ones which this group of firefighters use. Each of the men and women in this station are trained for many different types of fire emergencies, but their typical fare is electrical fires and brush fires. Since Talon City is mostly urban the old Brush response vehicle has been moved to a more remote location - but they handle their share of wildfires in the canyon-riddled area. |
