It was getting on to evening when she entered the desert. Ambrosia was hungry, and tired, and getting rather cranky.
"I should have rested at the refuge office," she complained to the night.
Then, a tiny hedgehog spoke to her. This was meant to be her guide through the desert? A teeny hedgehog? Well, it was certainly better than nothing! So she followed until they reached a lovely red colored Egyptan, a foxy thing with wings and many tails!
Then, they passed by not one but three beautiful dark dragon-like creatures, called Emana.
"Oh, look, there's another cocoon of one of those Egyptan creatures. I hope I get one of those too..." Ambrosia was getting very sleepy. But she must make it out of the desert before it got too hot, or close to the day.
At last, she saw a red Bishen, one which she'd seen at the Realm before. His name was Pierre. He seemed to be having quite a hard time, he was sniffling and snorting, and gave off a sneeze. Of course, Ambrosia's mothering instinct was very strong. She offered to help him, with all this dust around in the sands, it was no wonder he was snorting it all up his little nose!
But Pierre had other designs. He told Ambrosia that she had been very kind to him, and he offered her -- another Seal!
It had a volcano on it, and he announced
that this was the Terra seal.
Ambrosia had grown very weary over the course of this long day. But she still
had to get back to the Refuge. So she kept moving, her legs remembering if
her heart did not, how she had trained with her military 'family' and grown
strong.
They wouldn't find her out here. Not with Axarr and Four-Star. And with Woody. Because she realized that they'd been on the run for so long, no one even remembered they'd left their posts. And who wanted them anyway? A trio of strange Admirals (well, two and a general, but who was counting?) and their outdated ship?
Well, Ambrosia kept trudging along. She reached a valley of night, and looked around, as if in a dream.
One of those blessed butterfly winged dragons was there, guarding another of the Egyptan cocoons. But what was best, was that there was a Seal nearby! It had an adorable family of penguins and their eggs. It made Ambrosia both happy and sad to see this. She was told this was... the Love seal, and that this was where it belonged.
Ambrosia barely could write, it was late and dark and she was so tired. But she did, and then moved on. Two Lyris kept her company as she went through this twilight world, they said little but made sure Ambrosia stayed on the path. Suddenly there were three tiny little birdlike creatures making lots of noises at her, and a big red dog-thing. As if in half nightmare, she ran away, not even wanting to know what was going to eat her and what would stay away.
Finally stopping near a low cave, she saw a queer boy with dark wings, and a little teeny cute puppy-like critter. He offered to take her to see something called a Melcey. She agreed, hoping that it could cook.
The Melcey was named Cu, and ... beyond it was a Seal! A seal of Time, with the Winter look of a snowflake upon it. With relief, Ambrosia thanked the boy, the Melcey, and the pup, and left again.
What
happens next? Well... Ambrosia's a little fuzzy about it herself.
