Name: Alanna Floyd

Gender: Female, straight

Age/DOB: ~15, aged, RY12

Origin: Rookery born to Repurposed parents

Family: Mother Midell, father Adam, twin brother Miguel; half-siblings exist, auntie Helen, and many ELL relatives

Other: She's quite the catch if you can hold on to her

Height: 5'8" slightly taller than many ELL children

Weight: *100 at most, thanks to inherited Icarus effects; curvy and quite strong

Hair: dark charcoal black with shiny highlights, wooly in texture but easily styled, often kept loosened and in an up-do

Eyes: light shiny golden brown, considerably lighter than Adam's and in a more yellow-gold tone; large, observant, with dark lashes that seem to have a perfect liner already

Appearance: coppery brown skin with liberal freckles and moles particularly on shoulders and face; she is quite pretty, with a slender, long neck, and a sharp nose, thick dark lips, and confident postures. She likes wearing exploration gear, with an Icarus undergarment mostly for style rather than protection; she has a husky voice that's a little scratchy, a lot of folks find it quite sexy

Genetic Abilities: Alanna is gifted with a sort of 'cling' power, a modification of her father's telekinesis perhaps, that she uses to scale sheer surfaces and cling to ceilings if they're not crumbly. She can also conccentrate while remaining immobile, and go nearly completely invisble to any visual scans, heat scans, or even brief Vortal glances. She's learned how to be silent while doing, and this makes her a very good spy and spotter. She enjoys the fact that she's nearly indestructable but also doesn't wear out damage's welcome: if she can avoid being hit by falling rocks or gunfire, that's much better, she's not a tank, she doesn't like being shot! She is considerably stronger than she looks, able to crush hard materials in her hands, and kick headcrabs a quarter mile. The telekinesis she has also can protect her in close quarters, even if a rockslide covers her, she'll eventually be able to dig out without having all that dirt in her eyes and mouth. Though she's not as absurdly strong as her father she's at least as fast, up to 5x quicker on her feet and with markedly nimble fingers as well as vision that can keep her from being hit by a hail of bullets, she will dodge them - all. Like her father and aunt, she and Miguel are Vortally connected at any distance, though she has little other Vortal external powers, and she can be hard to locate by even talented Vortal eyes when she's 'hiding'. Her mental voice is not quiet, but she doesn't really get to use it all that often. She can see recent, nearby residual Vortal energies, at up to 100 meters at most, so if she's spotted something in that 'corner' of her eye she knows that she's nearer civilization than not and might follow a trail leading to a hidden Vort den or a group of refugees that way

Icarus Processing: inherited from both parents so not directly necessary, she has all the hallmarks of someone who has had it done - lighter weight and stronger bones and joints, the high recovery rate and nearly inexhaustable endurance, as well as a modest boost to her Vortal abilities. However most of hers, like her parents', are physical in nature rather than psychic. She and her brother were aged around 3 to their current mid-teen appearances, and given skill downloads, even without added processing
Skills or Profession: an expert navigator, explorer, and scout. Alanna is comfortable in urban or underground settings, as much as the rooftops of old ruins or just a mountainside. She does like there to be some kind of cover around, because that makes it easier to find a good hiding spot. She is occasionally deployed with others to spy on the Combine, and she must take a data pad along for notes, since she can't telepathically convey her findings. She does enjoy actually invading a Combine location, though, because she can hide up on the ceiling or in vents that others might entirely ignore. She's been given a few skill downloads, mostly for dealing with Combine items or architecture, because otherwise she's got an innate idea of where to go, how to get there, and how not to get seen coming back.
Personality: even if she spends a good amount of time in the field or out exploring, she is definitely a social creature and loves her down time as much as a good urbex competition. She organizes those, by the way, when there's no Combine intruding on things nearby, playing hide and seek is an excellent way to practice, and she encourages even the normal kids and adults to participate

Events or History: her parents get along reasonably well though they're not really a couple so much as 'well suited' both Vortally and physically. She and Miguel were carried by a surrogate, but definitely raised by both their blood parents together. Since they were aged, they have few memories of typical childhood events, but that's quite common for those growing up in the Rookery. They spent a good amount of time at the Grounds and Lane Mansion, though, so they know what's at stake for normal folks - they both have powers to protect and serve, and that's what they're going to do!

When it became obvious that any ELL's descendants would be suited to dragons, the search went out for the right one, and Sangria decided herself, who she'd hang out with. They reside in the Rookery but often swing very far out well past the normal exploration ranges for looters and Antlion ranchers, into the hills and even mountains both west and north upwards of 500 miles away.

Dragon

Name: Sangria
Gender: Female
Size/Shoulder/Length: medium-large 16' s / 95' l / 95' and 56' ws
Colors: mostly brilliant blood red, neck and belly have a faintly red-violet tint; dark crimson red leg armor and neck/back scales, feet are all black-crimson; face including horns and neck frill, upper left and lower right wing portions, right foreleg and left hind leg, and tail strut as well as tail webbing all have brilliant white splatter or solid markings - though these are overtly similar to the way that Combine processing might affect a young dragon, Sangria's are merely markings; undersides of wings (only) are darker red with faint and tiny white star-specks; neck spines, back/tail strut spine, and tail web spines dark red grade to blood red, on face covered with white; claws all white; eyes sky blue
Features: Seraph wing, four legs and four strong wings, with large curved horns on face, neck frill, underneck fin, huge neck spines, a long tail rump fin stabilizing flight, and a large fan of spiked webbing on tail tip also for flight stabilization
Powers: Winged Flight, Sangria is a demon in the air, and can attain very high speeds that might normally kill a person riding along, but Alanna is hardly a normal person! Even at full speed, up to 180 mph, she can make tight turns and circle around other flying things including Combine machinery, swatting scanners and hop-mine droppers right out of the air, and able to actively chew on dropships and gunships alike. She can use her main wings to maintain flight, while clinging on with both her feet and her smaller pair of wings, so if she decides that she wants to tear open a Combine ship, it will be in pieces and she'll fly away with parts of it soon enough... Obviously she can hold on to a lot of weight in her big paws, but she's also careful with it as needed, and can carry a whole-ass cargo container filled with anything from explosive barrels to hidden refugees and not damage either of them in a trip from the mountains down to the Rookery. Also note the undersides of her wings give off a shimmery and slightly hypnotic reflection, if aimed just right, and she can also use them to amplify or focus her sonic work, acting as a dish!
Vortal and Vocal Speech, Sangria has a shriek that can break equipment - and ears - but she can also sing like a bird and hiss like Combine radio static. Mainly she uses her voice to distract or emulate, though she can certainly speak English and a good amount of Vortigese and understands both technical and military terms spoken by those around the Rookery. She is Vortally able to connect with her partner Alanna, and has done so since both of them were quite young, she wasn't born on this planet but was small when she got here 'looking for something' - turned out to be some one. Other telepathic dragons or humanoids can easily contact her mind, so if Alanna is unable to be reached directly, they will definitely be looking for this dragon's mind; she can communicate outward up to 10 miles to other telepaths, and 2 miles to non-Vortal minds
Sonic Manipulation and Damage, when she 'sings' she can cause her voice to sound like it's coming from everywhere or nowhere, pinpoint ears and target one among a crowd, or alter the sound itself to be a chorus or cacopheny depending on the needs. Able to silence noise at around 100 meters, she can aid in sneaking around the ruins or a Combine installation even at a distance, always knowing where her bond is to be able to help dampen any noises she's making in those air vents. If worse comes to worst, she can also turn her voice into a weapon, letting out a beam of pure sound-pressure that can shatter glass, irrevocably damage small or delicate liquid crystal displays, and permanently deafen ears that are not protected. Her shout is most effective at close range, under 50 meters, but she is a big dragon, and can move quickly, so that's hardly mattered in a large scale battle where her voice makes the difference between reinforcements being called in or getting overwhelmed. She prefers stealth, but enjoys the big battles when she does have to fight, because it lets her really show off how well tuned she is to all sounds around herself. She can dampen the footsteps of rebels running in, at the same time as sending a 'distress call' across a Combine base. Getting anyone to notice this, that's the key to her ego... This power definitely takes the place of any breath weapon she might have as a breed.
Parentage: unknown, surmised some attachment to Nohaa's Darah due to the coloration; from the same breed as a few others found in the Rookery, but their 'breed' is no longer connected to their original home so anything goes with this one
Origin: adopted from Malady's Market with lines by xTamarax and species by Synthwave(ms981)
Other Info: if she is related to Darah, it'd be several generations back, because Darah has been here since she was a dragonet and Sangria came about the same age, only around 15 years later according to Rookery records. She enjoys working with Miguel and Expedition, because they do best on the ground, while she's up in the skies.
