Name: Janice Perkins Gender: Female, Bisexual Age/DOB: teens, artificially aged, 2030s Origin: Rookery Earth, actually one of the first created by Melissa here Family: Mother Aretha, father Matt, spliced due to Matt's genetic tags rendering him unable to have Icarus; Daughter Ursula with Umber of the Color Guard Other: with how her mother acts around nearly anyone having kind of been inherited, Janice will probably wind up having kids on her own before Mel or anyone else realizes it... However, she needs to remember not to get busy with anyone before checking that they don't have an negative markers about Icarus processing. Mel insists that though she was able to work on it in the lab, any further reinforcement of those genes would be quite detrimental to the next generation. Height: 5'7" Weight: 125* Icarus lightened her overall weight, and gained strength, still pleasantly curvy but quite muscular Hair: Black with very faint red overtones in bright sunlight, straightened (genetically) but still of the very thick wooly variety, and it doesn't go afro unless she really wants to get that do ...did Eyes: Medium brown, glasses are more for show than anything but she will eventually need them for distance vision Appearance: Medium to dark brown skin, flawless, with pert lips and a broad face, she looks much more delicate than she is thanks to the Icarus processing. She likes comfortable, casual clothing in layers, but appreciates the armor, heavy duty gear, and other such things like the Icarus under-suit, which she uses when needed. Janice wears a small bead made of Xenian crystal, which amplifies her aura a bit, and makes her 'easier to see' Vortally Icarus Processing: Yes, gentically she was altered while being put together to be able to utilize the processing, and shortly after a surrogate gave birth to her, she was artificially aged. While in the aging machinery the Icarus was applied, and has had very strong physical effects, along with minor Vortal ones |

Genetic Abilities: Extremely sturdy, resistant to most forms of elemental damge (such as fire, electricity, etc), and all but immune to disease and illness; she's about twice as strong as a normal Human, and can withstand most of the outside rigors of the wilderness - be it the desert in the Mojave where mom hangs out, or even deep under the sea... She can and does go outside the facility without a diving suit. Though she cannot breathe water and still requires an oxygen tank, and can't really see for shit outside in the extreme darkness, as long as she's got light and an air supply Janice can double check any exterior work quickly enough by just ... jumping into the dragon-entry nearby. She appears to be quite long-lived, and will definitely be among those who wander for centuries on different worlds (particularly once this one is safe, she'd love to visit her mother's birthplace! she might get the chance much sooner than expected, with the advent of the Mojave Conglomerate in RY8). In addition, she has a Vortally active sense of machinery and metals, though only a sense and no control over them. Her Vortal aura is a rich silvery-black shade, which means she's virtually indistinguishable from the black background of the Void, while also being 'strongly' present.
Skills or Profession: A bookworm more than either of her parents, but she likes to put all that reading to practical use. She had plentiful skill downloads so she knows all the basics of communication and movement, but since her father is a mechanic she's also gained a good amount of civil engineering, armorsmithy, vehicle creation and maintenance, and power work. Where her father generally spends time fixing up the airlocks and plumbing, Janice likes to work on the power supplies and making sure that everything is suitable for touching or being around: she can't be electrocuted ... so... if she feels a 'neat buzzing' when she touches a live wire, it's because it's not properly grounded, get that fixed right away! While she expresses interest in her mother's overt profession of 'being a leader', she prefers to apply that to group work, and getting things done. She doesn't micromanage, and would likely chastise some others working up in Black Mesa or in the Borealis for doing so - let people do their work in peace. Where she considers herself 'lacking' is in combat skills, she knows how to use armor and fix it, even create it, but stays away from actual weaponry or tactics. It's her hope that people won't need those skills within her lifetime.
Personality: Perky, friendly but distracted by work. She's almost always busy, whether it be tightening loose screws, or reading about upkeep on insulated wiring below the city, Rapture is her home and she loves living there. She knows every inch of the currently-available locations, and will surely want to clear out and explore those that aren't yet open for business. Though she can be snippy if someone is doing things directly to interfere with her work, generally she'll let people be who they are, not jumping in where she doesn't know all the facts or feels that the argument will play out by itself. She doesn't gossip, and doesn't like listening in on people if they're loud enough to hear, often scooting away from such conversations.
Events or History: Janice has a special place among the second generation living on the Rookery world - she's only half-native, and feels that keenly, Vortally in fact. She was born out of a surrogate living in Black Mesa, and quickly enough put into the Icarus vats and machinery, and though she was not even two years old when her parents both got to actually hold her, she loves them both dearly - and separately. She knows that there's no attachment between them, emotionally, but they do make a good team, and she's never felt like they're at odds. She's never felt 'torn between' them, though Janice does try to impress them both in different ways. She's chosen to live in Rapture, which does seem like a bit of a disappointment to her mother Aretha, but if all things are equal, there will likely be other children with her same parents at some point, and she's positive that one of them will be Aretha's closer kin when she returns to her home Earth.
