Hair: Rich reddish brown, kinked, somewhat frizzy, kept short but grows fast, grows an admirable beard

Eyes: golden brown, taking after Melissa's, however as he got older they turned a more orange-golden shade to her amber-yellow, under bushy brows

Appearance: fair to ruddy skin with moles, freckles, and a goodly amount of body hair; prefers comfortable combat gear such as camo pants, combat boots, and stolen Combine body armor - for no good reason, because he's nearly invulnerable

Genetic Abilities: Though he has a moderate psychic suite of empathy, telepathy, and Vortal sight (all at close range only, save for telepathy with his family members, which is unlimited distance), Menelaus takes his parents physical traits and cranks them up to 11. He is effectively immortal, as Melissa is, and nearly invulnerable to any physical damage from crushing, cutting or slicing, piercing, impact or blunt force, or acidic sources. He heals rapidly, around 4x as fast as normal from those sources, but takes a little more damage from and heals less instantly from fire, radiation, and sicknesses; he is not immune to viruses or bacteria. His far more obvious ability is his strength and endurance; he is perhaps 7x as strong as any normal human, meaning he is absolutely on par with Wilson, Kitty, and Geoff himself. His strength is constant, undying, and inexhaustable - he can run around 3x as fast as a normal person, but he can do so for literally days without tiring, and has done so in order to move between distant sites. He is reasonably flexible but not unusually so. However, he also has a good steady aim, with almost any ranged weapon including thrown ones.

Icarus Processing: Yes, at age 3 he was given this because Geoff's Vortal power seemed to require more of a push, so his psychic abilities are a little stronger than they would have been without it. It reduced his overall weight, improved his joints and connective tissues, obviously giving his endurance and strength a boost as well.
Skills or Profession: Serving the role of 'heavy lifting device', with the group of extraordinarily strong individuals around the Mesa and other facilities, even skyscrapers could be leveled - or reconstructed. He has an extremely good dose of civil engineering, much more so than Geoff or Wilson ever had, because post-Combine they needed less blunt impact trauma and more wrecking ball and site management. He likes tunnels, and has cleared out numerous subway areas in cities where they've visited that had them, and in fact has in the back of his mind, constantly wondered how long it would take him working alone, to fix all of them up. He likes brickwork, masonry, and other projects that allow him to be both strong and precise: he can lay a 3 foot cube of marble at exactly the right rotation above another, at just the moment that the mortar needs to be set. Though he's less of an artist and more architecturally aware, he has actually gone on photography jaunts (though truth be told he can remember visuals with ease, a 'photographic' memory more than 'eiditic', like Mel's) to places like the old Armacham headquarters, museums which had underground facilities, and monuments - all with the eye on how they routed people, where structural reinforcements could have prevented damage, and the like. He is a one-man construction - or demolition - crew. But he prefers others on hand to help pass the time. He does still have downloaded skill sets for weaponry and tactical works, but tends to just pick up those weapons and goods, and hand them off to dad for better use.
Personality: Quiet but not stoic, Menelaus prefers small group gatherings with like-minded folks, to big groups or being alone. If he has something to talk to someone about, they can go for hours nerding out: particularly construction or architectural history, art, or how to approach an excavation. He is more of a nerd than most people give him credit for, actually, and is quite a nice guy. Don't try to hint that he's just a big dumb ox, though. Because he will plot out just exactly how much of a rube-goldberg effort will need to go into a room that will utterly ruin that thought...

Events or History: Because he was actually born several years after the Combine's defeat, Menelaus needed a little more direction to his life than his siblings or parents had. Theirs was clear as day: they needed to survive, and even if the Events hadn't occurred, they would have been put into battle or other activities. Now that there isn't either of those things on their home world, he eagerly took up residence at the Rookery. He dreams of a day when the Rookery's Dry Cove will become more of a city than a cluster of village huts, along with others he'd be able to build that city brick by brick.

He has had access to the North Aperture facility since Rookery Year 8, and on and off has helped clear out the Spheres and Shafts they sit in. Eventually he resides there full time, though Feldspar is often up top and hardly wants to try flying in the Shafts herself. She can, there are some locations with enough room to do so.

Powers: Winged Flight, Feldspar is eager to get into the air, and is clearly good at flight in rough conditions, preferring to remain hovering or gliding on high warm updrafts than to power for miles - though she certainly can do that. In the air she can lift several tons at a time, and hardly notice it. Her flight is not particularly smooth, though, and anyone riding her will lurch and tumble a bit while she's flying, except when hovering, which she does expertly at an absolute standstill in all directions. She can snap from that hover into motion in any direction, as well, flipping backwards or down, straight up, or straight ahead with equal speed and confidence.
Communication, she has a 'gritty' voice, but a big vocabulary, and knows a lot about minerals, metals, and crystals. She's learning the human technical terms for these things as well as tool names. She and her human friend have a strong Vortal bond, though little else.
Strength on the Sand, Feldspar is very much equitable to her human friend, able to push or pull tremendous weights, lift things while on her hind feet using her tail and wings as balance or extra grip for her forepaws. Also she digs like nobody's business: not even Mudwings can keep up with her in hard packed clay or soil, and she can burrow through rough stone or poured concrete, brick, and even marble given a bit of time.
Heat and Aridity Tolerance, Fire Production, like most pure Sandwings, Feldspar needs hardly any water to survive, even at her size, though she does like to have a good long drink before a heavy burst of activity. She's never noticed blistering heat from weather or exposure around machinery, though she does tend to notice steam rather than outright heat, since it's wet heat. Her flame production is remarkable, she can certainly burn through a lot of those same substances that her claws otherwise dig into, at short range her fire is so hot it will make puddles out of even solid stone, leaving lava in its place. But more subtle applications are what she likes to do, and in conjunction with Menelaus's artistic side, she can form swirly patterns with it, that create breathtaking artwork on large scale metals and stone. Her heat is very precise, and like someone blowing smoke-rings, her breath will swirl around and linger in some spots, lift up in others, with amazing results.
Stinger, though she does have a dangerous tail, and uses it for hunting as well as defense, she lacks any venom in it. Not that having a 3 foot long spike wouldn't already be deadly...
